I never had service made me cry before, but this restaurant brought me to tears by ignoring me and making me feel invisible for 40 minutes, while serving people right next to me. My server continously asked the couple next to me how they were doing and never said anything to me for 40 minutes. 10 people who came after me got their orders taken and were served food before anyone even talked to me. I had to go up to the front to even get my server to talk to me. I understand that they were busy but doesn't mean that they have to be rude. This is a really great spot for a casual, local meal. As its name suggests, the restaurant is literally across the street from the train station, so it's super easy to find it and get there. Although the interior is plain, the restaurant makes up for it with its down to earth staff and great food. You can see the chefs hard at work in the kitchen and the wait staff were nonstop. I ordered the turkey sandwich on a bulkie roll, and it was huge! It came with lettuce and tomato, so a very classic sandwich overall. It was good, but what would have made it even better was if it came with avocado or grilled on a panini! Sweet potato fries were amazing. Not too salty and had the perfect crisp. This is a great breakfast place. If you're in the area you are absolutely missing something if you fail to give it a try. Killer French toast and very nice omelets. Pancakes in a bunch of flavors are excellent. The most important meal of the day is a real treat here. The crowd is substantial on the weekends so try to go at a slightly off peak time. Food was really good. Was it worth the wait- No. Was it worth the price- No. Am I glad I tried it- Yes. This breakfast spot is SWAMPED on the weekends. Get here early and expect a wait. Limited seating and slow patrons add up to be a pain in the butt. Large group... forget it. I wouldn't try a group of more than 4. 6 is doable but expect some wait time. The selection of food is great. They have many many options for pancakes, french toast and omelets. Be careful what you order from the pancake or french toast sections... you could go into diabetic shock. But do not fear, they have plenty of savory options available on the menu too. In addition to my breakfast I got a side of homefries... now potatoes are my favorite part of the breakfast experience but I was saddened when my $2 potatoes amounted to a few homefries in a small bowl. Please, charge be double but give me some homefries! Drink refills can be on the slow side but that is too be expected. Ardmore Station Cafe has the best breakfast on the mainline. Since breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, I can be picky about it. I have a hard time picking what I want because there are so many options. If you want something sweet the Oreo Pancakes are wonderful. If you want something more savory, I love the Eggs Benedict with avocado. If you are seriously hungry, the side of pancakes goes well with the Eggs Benedict. The only cons are that there is not much parking and the restaurant is small, so expect a wait on the weekends. read more

This is one of my go to spots for breakfast in Ardmore. I've had the French toast, pancakes & their breakfast sandwiches. The place could use a bit of an update but it doesn't take away from the fact that the breakfast is really good. My favorite are the pancakes! Their fluffy & you can get them in so many flavors. That was the one thing I did enjoy was how cheap it was nonetheless it's still inexpensive compared to other local breakfast spots. They haven't disclosed that their not BYOB but I have definitely showed up with my champagne & ordered orange juice & enjoyed my Sunday Funday without any fuss! Great cafe! Staff was really friendly. I came here for lunch with a friend. I know i was supposed to order breakfast because everyone raves about it but i opted for the chicken cheesesteak with french fries. The cheesesteak was really good. Rolls were fresh. French fries tasty and hot. My friend had a sandwich as well and was thrilled that they used bread from Le Bus. Prices were very reasonable. Amazing location close to the train! Great food, great service. This little dive-cafe had everything my hangover needed, including a Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich. We placed our orders (the sandwich for me and some oatmeal for the boyfriend) along with some drinks. Food was very prompt but I didn't realize the time and had to switch the order to-go. He Said: We've been here twice, once during the US Open and once just a few weeks ago. Seating is limited, but a little wait never killed anyone. On both visits I got the same thing: runny eggs; potatoes; and scrapple. They do not salt/pepper their potatoes, or are extremely conservative with it, and I truly appreciate it. The crisp is perfect and if I want salt I'll add it. And, oh, the scrapple. It's a generous slab and done just right. I don't see a reason to go elsewhere. Side note: the coffee is quite good. It's local and tasty and a great complement to the food. She Said: It has been a few years since we visited Ardmore Station, and every order of eggs Benedict that I've had since that first visit has been found wanting. I ordered it again on this visit just to verify that it is, indeed, the best eggs Benedict around. I always get mine with a couple of changes to the traditional recipe: I prefer traditional bacon to Canadian bacon, and I like some avocado on it if available. Ardmore Station managed both adjustments. The dish was perfectly constructed and I appreciated that the Hollandaise sauce wasn't too lemony. I love the breakfast at Ardmore Station Cafe. The food is almost as good as the service.... The staff is so sweet and kind. Their best offering is the challah french toast in many varieties from pumpkin to peanut butter and banana. Their pancakes are also really special. My husband also likes the salmon eggs Benedict. If you like omelettes, the tomato bacon and avocado is really good! The la Columbe coffee is wonderful and fresh squeezed OJ a treat. As long as you can hang out to wait for a table, it's the best breakfast from Wayne to Wynnewood. read more

Ordered delivery from here before a night shift at work. Delivery was quick and easy! The breakfast burrito was delicious and came with a side of salsa and sour cream. I ordered a side of fruit however ended up with a side of potatoes. Normally I would be excited about getting potatoes but I actually really wanted the fruit! Very disappointing experience. The pancakes were rubbery, difficult to cut and inedible; honestly couldn't take more than one bite because the taste was so bad. Scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes were fine but nothing special. Eggs Benedict was pretty much just a hard boiled egg covered in hollandaise. Bacon came in a pile, all of the pieces stuck together - some parts undercooked, some overcooked. Looking for a good breakfast while in the area on a Sunday morning, I decided to stop in. Steep steps up to the cafe - just thought I'd mention that. Place was full, but was able to be seated quickly. Ordered an omelet, a cup of coffee and a couple side items. All tasted good. However, the reason for the "3-Star" was the lack of attention to detail from the waiting staff. They brought out the wrong items that I asked for, and failed to bring out other items I asked for. First off the staff was very polite yet helped turn tables over pretty quickly on a busy Sun morning. This place is full of pleasant surprises!   The ambiance is surprisingly modest and welcoming. The menu is not huge but surprisingly broad enough to cover everyone's needs.  The food is delicious and surprisingly interesting.   A sides the "normal" items such as eggs, and breakfast sandwiches, they definitely add some twists to the food. I definitely recommend the following 5-star items:   --  Smoked salmon Eggs Benedict with added avocado, my personal favorite! --  Pancakes with chopped oreo's, one of the kids' favorites.  --  Omelets - you can build your own, but for Brunch I love the Spinach Pizza and he Italian Omelets. --  Nutella & strawberry stuffed French toast, everyone's favorites. They also offer La Colombe coffee, which I love. When I am feeling lazy on the weekend and can't imagine making the trek into the city for brunch, I head over to the Ardmore Station Cafe. Unfortunately the place is pretty small, and I always have to wait. Today's wait was less than 5 minutes, so I was a happy camper. The staff is usually pretty great. Perhaps due to the lack of tables, they know that they need to get people in and out faster. The menu includes multiple kinds of french toast...so many that they even have an option to try 3 different kinds. Today i opted for an egg white omelet with tomatoes and mushrooms. It was good, though lacking in tomatoes. My boyfriend got the french toast (plain) and finished the whole plate. If you have read my other reviews, you know the importance of good potatoes to me. The Ardmore Station's potatoes are nice and crispy, but they put so few on the plate, it is sometimes comical or sad looking. They do give you LeBus 9 grain bread though, which helps. I can tell that there are a lot of repeat customers at Ardmore Station, which is easy since the prices are so reasonable. I am excited to go back and try all of their french toast varieties. read more

We went to Ardmore Station Cafe for Sunday brunch. There was a wait, but they moved people in and out pretty quickly so we didn't have to wait as long as they originally told us. I was in a group of 5 so they had to add a seat to the end of the table. I wouldn't recommend this cafe for groups. Seems better for couples since it's fairly small and the tables are very close to each other on the inside. The atmosphere is very casual. As far as the food goes, brunch is always a struggle for me because I want sweet and salty but don't have a huge appetite so I can never finish my meal. I wish I could get half of two different meals. I decided to get the strawberry Nutella stuffed French toast and a side of cheese fries. The stuffed French toast was just as incredible as it sounds. It came with Kraft syrup, which I wouldn't be caught dead eating since I grew up in New England, but there was an option to buy pure maple syrup for $2. I would definitely go back there just to have this! I was very disappointed with the cheese fries because, being from Philly, I assumed it meant there would be cheese whiz, but instead it was melted cheese. Unfortunately my fries weren't crispy because they must've been under the heat lamp too long before being served to me. Between being melted cheese instead of whiz and not being crispy, it didn't hit the spot and I wasn't psyched to pay $3.50 for a side of not so great fries that I barely ate. In their defense, I didn't ask for whiz, I assumed. I know for next time to clarify. I'm giving 3 stars for my rating because half of my group was satisfied with their experience and the other half was not. One of my friends got ginger ale and he said it tasted like water with a sprinkling of ginger. (I feel like ginger ale is hard to mess up.) One of my other friends got freshly squeezed orange juice and she said it was delicious and refreshing. Overall I'm indifferent about my experience here. Our waitress was nice, it wasn't too noisy although the seating was tight. I'm not dying to go back but I wouldn't mind if we did other, just wouldn't be my first choice. Not cheap but it's also not overpriced for what you get like at Corner Bakery, which is located on the other side of the tracks. LOCATION: Parking is tough during the week because of limited street parking and commuters using the nearby lot. Find a spot in the lot in Suburban Square (across from J Crew) and walk up the street. A low-key breakfast diner that is a must visit for SEPTA/AMTRAK traveler, or for a quick breakfast if you're nearby, Ardmore Station Cafe provides a diverse menu at reasonable prices. But don't let that deter you from visiting this modest Ardmore diner. Hidden away on the second floor of a building on Station Road, the cafe small interior only seats only thirty people at the most. My girlfriend and I came early on a Saturday morning and was greeted by a mostly empty diner that really filled up by 8:30am. The service was decent but not exceptional - it was obvious the waitress was less than thrilled to be there, but she still provided good service. The menu is exactly what you'd expect with some interesting twists to keep things interesting. You can order breakfast and lunch, with prices as cheap as $4 for a parfait to $8 for a chicken cheese steak. I opted for the Peanut Butter Banana & Nutella Stuffed French Toast ($7.75) with peanut butter, Nutella and bananas dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. It's hard to mess up Nutella in anything, but the combination of peanut butter and fresh bananas really added to the dish, elevating it above something you could make at home (they skimped a bit on the bananas though). A very fulfilling dish. Ardmore Station Cafe is a must visit if you're waiting at the train station (it's in the name after all), and a place to check out for a low key, inexpensive breakfast for a local. Today was our first time at the cafe. We had our toddler girls. Place was already hopping at 830am which seemed unexpected. We still were taken care of. By 9am there was a wait of 5min while tables turned over. The waitstaff were kind despite being understaffed. We ordered and got our food quickly. Delicious Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict . I added avocado to mine. So it was delicious. The roasted potatoes lacked flavor but were perfectly crispy. Just needs lots of salt. The girls split a breakfast and they devoured it. Great coffee! Situated right outside of suburban square, this is our go to breakfast spot and we LOVE it. This review is for our most recent visit. There was something going on in Ardmore the other day and it was way more crowded than usual. We had to wait to get a table, but were seated within 15 minutes. They have all these crazy different french toast and pancake flavors. I got the french toast sampler, where you get to try 3 different types of french toast. I tried the smores, strawberry stuffed, and the pumpkin french toast. The smores was great and not too much for breakfast. The pumpkin which I have gotten before was also very good. I was not a fan of the strawberry stuffed french toast because it was a bit too heavy on the cream cheese for me. May have just been my personal preference. My boyfriend got the reese's pancakes, which I thought would be gross but I tried it and it was amazing. Despite being crowded, we still got the same great service as usual. They also let you substitute healthier items for extra bucks, such as egg whites and vegetarian options. This place gets super packed during the weekend brunch time. So get here really early or you should expect a good 30-minutes wait. Tucked away discreetly on the second floor of the building across the street, you might walk right by as you exit the train in Ardmore and go about your merry business. You will not regret making a stop here instead. The food is absolutely to die for. I will sing eternal praise of the Oreo Pancakes and the French Toast Sampler. If you're in for lunch, the Chicken Caesar Wrap is dripping with savory goodness. On top of that, the staff is the friendliest bunch of people I've ever met. I am not a big fan of this place for two reasons: lack of parking and having to wait in line to be seated on the weekends. If you have the patience, then definitely try this place because once you find a spot for parking and are seated at your table, the food is out of this world. It is mainly busy on the weekends around the breakfast hour. Breakfast is really , really, really good so much so that I have never even tried anything from the lunch menu. My personal favorite is the stuffed banana French toast...mmmmm good!!! It is a relatively small cafe so it is a little tight when you are with a big party. The staff is very friendly and very attentive to your needs. I will say however that some of the items are a little overpriced but you get what you pay for on the Main Line. read more
