Would've loved to give this place a high rating but i had a horrible experience. I said "oh sorry this is my first time here" to which he replied " you have to pick your bread at any breakfast sandwich place." which that may be true, but also I'm not from here and where I'm from there aren't even breakfast sandwich shops like this. and to get visibly frustrated and catch an attitude with a customer who is paying for your product is just insane to me. it wasn't until I started to show that I was visibly frustrated and offended at his treatment of me that he walked away from the cash register and didn't even ring me up. A lady came by and she helped me and I let her know that the last employee was not very nice and she was very nice to me and then as I waited for my sandwich, I witnessed that not very nice man being extra, super nice to every other customer that walked through the door. I this wonderful deli really saved my day when we were looking for a lunch spot in Ardmore on a Monday when everyone is closed, (including my Ardmore favorite, Felicia's Pizza!) Super friendly, great prices, Dietz and Watson meats, and the best Ruben sandwich on swirled rye bread I have had in decades! Highly recommended! I did not try their cheesesteak, but when one was delivered to the table next to me, I put it on the list for next visit, which will be soon! For about a year and a half I have been coming here and I always just kind of took it for granted because it was where everybody around here popped in to get breakfast sandwiches or coffee or bottled juices. They have a good breakfast and lunch menu and I've probably tried at least a third of their menu and enjoyed it. When I eat in, it's delivered to the table with a smile. But I mostly take out. The takeout is always packaged very neatly in strong bags that don't break. Don't laugh but that's the thing with me. Well the next generation of DEE Is now a big fan of Jeanies . There's not a time the adult feminine offspring visits me that she doesn't stop either before hand or afterwards but I think she goes there Nearly as often as I now. I love it when she stops before hand because I always get treated to a bagel sandwich!!!! The friendly,great service at reasonable prices are nothing new around here. I see commuters stop in for their coffee and a sandwich before crossing the Pike to catch the commuter train into the city. So Jeannies provides a nice commuter meal as well. Jeannie's would have been my default local diner in the past and present times that I've lived in Ardmore and a block away. But due to the hours working against my work schedule, it's only been a place that I've been able to enjoy during those days that I've been able to work from home instead. But every time I've been here I've enjoyed a classic no-frills deli where you can enjoy a good-sized breakfast or lunch at a decent price and consistent quality. Whether you do a stacked breakfast sandwich or three-egg omelet for breakfast or get a hoagie loaded with Boar's Head meats or a good cheesesteak, you'll be able to grab a great sized portion for less than $10 (unless you add steak to your omelet or bacon to your cheesesteak). Their cheesesteak might be the best on the Main Line, and their wraps are also a good option by my book. I also enjoy that they have a vast assortment of drinks to choose from, and dig the good vibes of the staff. Jeannie's does have a couple of table spots for sitting and also has free wi-fi. But it's a place where food is best enjoyed on the go. read more

I'm sad to have to write this, but I had an absolute awful experience today at Jeannie's. It seemed to be the one day she's not working and I had to place my order with a man I wasn't familiar with. He was extremely short in tone, condescending, cut me off, and seemed to be having an off day. After I ordered, he just hung up on me and I assumed my order was placed. When I went in, I asked to speak to Jeanie as I know her and know the reputation of her business is important to her. The same dainty man who answered the phone met me at the counter and gave off a sense of arrogance when I told him I was the "Italian Sandwich Guy", he told me Jeanie is gone (did she die) and asked for my payment. I gave him my card and told him I didn't appreciate his condescending behavior and tone. Before I could get that out of my mouth, he cut me off, told me that's how he treats all his customers, and literally put his hand in my face and told me to leave. I hope the place has cameras so Jeanie can witness this interaction and handle the situation. I will sadly not be supporting this business going forward and suggest the reader do the same unless they enjoy being treated like garbage when trying to support a family neighborhood establishment. read more

Jeannie's Deli Ardmore PA. Very nice people, nice clean place, I just wasn't feeling it. 10 a.m. and they were serving their full menu. I decided to go with a breakfast cheesesteak. I was prepared to beg, plead and grovel for Jeannie to make me a breakfast cheesesteak but there's one on the menu. In an area where it seems like everywhere you turn there's an overrated bistro, or a mildly pretentious higher end chain, this place is a hidden gem. Or maybe I just come from a state of mind where I always appreciate a short order place that knows how to make the home fries right over a fancy joint. Either way, when I was in the area in need of a quick and cheap breakfast spot today, Yelp reviews pointed me here and it did not disappoint. I noticed that every customer who came in seemed to know the owners, and they chatted about their lives with them. I love these types of places. Food quality is ultimately what matters, and at a simple place like this it only matters if everything is well made. It certainly is here. My omelet, bagel, and home fries were prepared perfectly. Funny thing is that I usually don't go for the cubed home fries as I feel most places make these rubbery and tasteless. Here, they are perfectly crisp and fresh. That's a skilled technique to get them that perfect. I don't know if I'll make it back as my normal travels don't often find me out in these parts at breakfast time, but I'll happily recommend them to anyone for a quick neighborhood breakfast fix. read more

It's amazing how I can live in a place with so many great places to eat for many years and never make it to all of them but going to others often. I think they call it 'getting into a rut'. The Reverend and I do that. Jeannie's Deli has been in Ardmore for quite a while, and I walk past it all the time on my way to the dry cleaners next door, the post office and library up the street, etc. Heck, we used to eat frequently at John Henry's across the street. I think we never went in as it was prior to this summer a strictly take-out deli place. We do some take out, thanks to the NMT our hoagies though are mostly Wawa with a smattering of Chris' Deli (the former J & G L lunchmeat Villa). Over the spring the Browse Around Thrift Shop (AKA the "Irish Nuns" as locals called it) next door closed. Jeannie's likewise shut down but as it turns out for renovations and an expansion - they took over the storefront space formerly occupied by the Nuns (but not the warehouse space behind the storefront), completely remodeling and adding 2 and 4 top tables for eat-in. We decided this was the time to finally go in. The place, being brand spanking newly renovated was super clean and bright. Although there are tables, there is no wait staff service, we ordered at the counter and our food was brought to us. Drinks were self-serve. The Rev loved the coffee bar. Food was...fine. Pancakes were tasty and fluffy with a bit of density to ensure they held syrup without disintegrating. They will pre-butter your flapjacks meaning they will be deliciously saturated with butter. Bacon was surprisingly bland, this is disappointing but hey, that's what salt shakers are. Our toasted bagel was likewise bland which, given the great bagel sourcing here in Philly, was disappointing. Staff were very congenial and accommodating. Please note that your cell data plan will generally suck here, it's a beautiful old building and for all their gazillion dollars Verizon and others haven't figured out how to get a good signal in these places made before construction consisted of paper and sticks. You'll still get calls, however Words With Friends has to wait until after your meal. This is not an altogether bad thing. Their business is still clearly mostly takeout, as a parade of folks came in ordering various items, waiting, then going on their day. It's a pleasant expansion to the Ardmore dining scene, and one we will likely visit occasionally. read more

I never knew exactly where this place was located, but finally got a chance to try it out...Grabbed a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a Kaiser. 4.95, good deal in my book. They scramble the eggs on a flat top grill so they are flat and square, then folded over with cheese\bacon inside. I actually prefer partially scrambled\fried eggs, which are more on the wet side. (Joe's Place in Wayne, Upper Crust in Newtown Sq) but this is fairly typical and not an issue. The issue was the bacon was included in the folded egg\cheese and was only on half the sandwich. There was no way for me to pull it out and spread it over the sandwich, so I had half an egg and cheese and half a bacon\egg\cheese. Literally, they just happened to cut it in half and leave no bacon on one side. Bit disappointing, but it was good, and the fare I saw others eating looked quite tasty, so I'll be back to try again and will make sure they spread my bacon out! read more

This used to be one of my favorite spots in Ardmore. The service was always super friendly, the food is decent and prices are reasonable. That was the case until yesterday. I stopped in here for only a cup of coffee. When I walked up to the counter to pay the cashier rudely said that he was "working on another order" and then proceeded to jump all over me because I had the unmitigated gall to ask him for a napkin. What a wonderful post dentist visit surprise. I found Jeannie's on Yelp and was starving as I wanted to wait until after my appointment to eat. They have a wonderful menu for both breakfast and lunch. I really enjoyed my food. A breakfast sandwich wrap and healthy side options (they have the typical breakfast sides of potatoes and such too if memory serves me correctly). Friendly customer service. The only negative thing I'll say is... almost $6 for a sausage, egg and cheese? My breakfast of a breakfast sandwich, apple, and a red bull (yes...I'm not proud of this for breakfast. I was in the Ardmore/ Wynnewood area and decided on this place for lunch. I ordered a tuna salad wrap and a turkey wrap, which were pretty good and decently sized. I also had an order of fries and a grilled chicken salad. The salad was very basic; think bland chicken, iceberg lettuce, bagged croutons, and kens Caesar dressing on the side. the fact that the salad was $13 I was expecting more. I have been going to Jeannie's for years. Unfortunately, since she sold the deli, there is a different attitude - and not for the better. I was social distancing while waiting to pour my coffee. The customer before me, thanked me for being patient and giving her space. It's my turn and a 20-something male member of the owner comes right up next to me, pours coffee, then reaches over me to get the cup top - - no "excuse me" or "I'm sorry". Then, as I am waiting for my order and standing (because I don't want to take up a precious table) and sipping my coffee - this idiot tells me to cover my face. I say I'm drinking my coffee. Mr. Attitude says I have to cover my face while I'm standing there. OK. So, I go around to the other side and all the tables had someone sitting at them - so much for complying to the 25% indoor dining. My first interaction with this deli consisted of my boyfriend delivering a cream-cheese loaded everything bagel to me, in bed, as I suffered through the worst hangover ever. Needless to say, it was love at first bite. The breakfast platters are amazing. I'm not exactly the cheeriest person when I first wake up, but the home fries they serve up here really get me through my pre-coffee hours of morning. The owners are adorable. Hidden gem on the corner of Athens and Cricket Ave. I always seem to order from here when I'm getting my hair done across the street, lol. I would say most people get take out from here but there are a few tables to sit inside. Everything I have had from here has always been GREAT. They have a ton of different breakfast platters, I really like the french toast. They also have a good selection of lunch items: hoagies, chicken fingers, etc. On my most recent visit, I split a chicken cheesesteak with the fiancé which was really good.
