We were excited to try a new sushi place. The sushi good had more options for cooked them most places which is awesome since I'm pregnant and can't eat anything raw. The spring rolls were different the pork was sweet which I was okay with but my husband was thrown off. The Lo mein was very bland no seasoning at all. And last and least the avacado smoothie was disgusting it tasted like old milk. Not once did anyone come over and checked on us until they brought us the bill which is when I said something about the smoothie and she just walked away. I used to go here quite a bit but it's been a while since I've gone, and the reason is simple: it's overpriced. They are misreading the market, as are 99% of restaurants in this good-food-deprived pretentious city. For some reason these restaurants all think Bostonians are multi-millionaires that like to pay $30+ for tiny portioned meals. Come on man, get real. PHO IS SUPPOSED TO BE CHEAP, GENEROUS, AND DELICIOUS. No matter where you go, this should be the law when it comes to pho. The pho here is overpriced, of average portion, and not very good compared to pho you can get elsewhere. The bento boxes and other items such as sushi are ridiculously overpriced, even more than the pho. I just can't justify going to this restaurant with the prices at their current levels. For the appetizers my husband and I ordered the Shrimp Tempura and Grilled Saba. They were ok, nothing extraordinary. For the main, I ordered the Chicken Yaki-Udon. So, this is where I have to take off points. The chicken was not cleaned thoroughly. I had bits of cartilage and one piece was entirely made up of fat. That was disgusting. On top of that, there was a heavy chicken taste, almost like it was not cooked properly, maybe on the raw side. I could not get over that as I was eating the dish. With every bite of chicken, I had to question whether it was fat, cartilage, or had a distinct extreme taste to it. My husband got the Pho, and he enjoyed it. I did not try it so I cannot rate it fairly. Honestly, if I had to come back, I'd rather stick to the appetizers and I'd stay away from any of their chicken dishes. read more

This review is for the sushi only. We came here on a Saturday night and the place was pretty quiet, very low-key. Looking at the decor and the menu, however, we felt like there was a lot going on from a number of different cultures/ cuisines, so we weren't sure what to expect. We were in the mood for sushi, so ordered a number of maki rolls - some of the simpler rolls that I feel like you have to try at a new place, and some of their more complicated rolls. We were so excited when the food came out because it was really colorful and beautiful, as you can see from the pics. But we ended up being disappointed. Nothing was bad per se, but we really weren't impressed by any of it. This is not a place that we'd come back to for sushi. However, a friend has told me that their pho and Vietnamese dishes are really good, so maybe that's more of the true focus of this place. We'll have to come back to try the pho - just not the sushi. read more

I tried the Pho there and a bit underwhelmed. The broth is a bit less intense and flavorful than what I expect for good pho, the amount of meat is on the lower side compared with other pho shops. We visited Le's Sushi Bar & Restaurant on a Monday for a late lunch. We read the reviews and they seemed to be "mixed", but thought we would try it anyway. I must say, we really enjoyed everything we had (see photos)! We both ordered two different sushi rolls and they were nicely put together, fresh, and quite tasty. The location isn't extremely convenient, parking is challenging, yet the staff were nice, the decor was simple and inviting, and the food was good. We were actually there when they were having a surprise health inspection and I would be very surprised if they did not pass -- the restaurant seemed quite clean. If we lived in the area, this would be a place we'd likely visit regularly. read more

I got super quick delivery through DoorDash and it was very downhill from there. The vermicelli entree I got was fine. Not amazing, but fine. The fresh rolls were fair. The accompanying sauce was insanely salty and the roll just didn't taste terribly fresh. The big reason for the low rating is the Thai iced tea. Good pho and sushi! I wanted to go to Ebi, but I was staying at a hotel nearby, so just decided to walk over to Le's. It was a blustery day, so most of the tables had Pho, so I ordered that as well! Good broth, and the server didn't bat an eye when I asked for it without noodles. I just really wanted the broth and vegetables. I do have to say that I think that the sushi from Ebi is better, but it still satisfied my craving. How fun to be able to get Vietnamese and Sushi all in one place! We tried loads of things from gyoza to pho to sushi and even some vermicelli and all of it was great. Tasted fresh, was made quickly and efficiently and ready when they promised us it would be. A little higher priced than others in the area but was still great. read more

I have been to Lee's several times and have never been disappointed! Their sushi is always fresh and of good quality and is very reasonably priced for somewhere so close to Boston. The atmosphere is certainly very casual, but it's always a go-to for me and my boyfriend when we're looking for a quiet date night. The service is great and everyone is always very friendly! The food was good, and the venue seems to have a lot of potential (good clean space and nice location right on Cambridge St.) but the service left something to be desired. The inside looks like a good place for a date night, but the service was obviously geared towards take out. I live right around the corner so 3 stars might seem harsh seeing as how I come back to it, but if you're looking for a good meal out, you can do better than this. If you're looking for standard sushi takeout, this is a safe bet, but a little on the high end for pricing. Regarding the actual food, the menu is pretty broad and has lots of sushi roll options in a range from simple to fancy. Came back and was sorely disappointed by service with an attitude. Waitress misheard 'ginger ale' and brought some sort of soup. We politely explained that we hadn't ordered that, and suddenly it was as if we weren't there. No returning to the table to check on things, and even though there were very few people in the restaurant and ample staff, we had to flag someone down when we were done. No clearing of plates, no asking how the food was, just glaring. It was uncomfortable and bizarre, and it was not as if they were busy. I called that night to speak with the manager and was told they were not there. I called two days later to speak with the manager, same story. I called a third time to give them the benefit of the doubt, no response. The quality of the food was outweighed by the bad service. read more

I was quite skeptical of this place when I first heard the name. Vietnamese and sushi? But it turns out that they do both rather well. On my first trip, I had the Sushi Combo 3, with 5 nigiri (shrimp, salmon, tuna, and two hamachi), salmon hand roll, and California roll. All the fish tasted quite fresh, especially the salmon. I followed it up with a bac xiu coffee. Can't do that at any other sushi restaurant! Their Vietnamese dishes are also quite good and come in generous portions. The pho broth is savory and sweet, with lots of meat. The only drawback is the lack of some meats you see at other pho restaurants, like tendon and tripe. You can basically only get two types of meat at once. The dish I've enjoyed most here in the bun cha (vermicelli with grilled pork, pork ball, and egg roll). The pork was seasoned and grilled to perfection, and the pickled carrots and radishes in fish sauce were plentiful and fresh. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes, since it's the most convenient place to get solid sushi and Vietnamese food in East Cambridge. read more

Very good Pho, especially for a sick day.

The unique characteristic of this restaurant isn't that it has both Vietnamese food and sushi, but rather that it does both really well. If you go to 90% of the sushi restaurants in Boston, the sushi chefs will likely be Chinese. However, at Le's the sushi chef is Japanese and it really shows in his craftsmanship and art. The sushi was beautiful and delicious. We ordered the Cambridge roll, Pearl roll, tuna avocado salad and he even made a special cucumber wrapped sushi roll for us on special request. The Vietnamese food was equally stellar and probably one of the better Vietnamese places I have been to in Boston. I had the Bun with egg rolls and pork, which was delicious. Will definitely be back to try the Pho. Overall, this is a unique experience in Boston because of the Japanese sushi chef making the sushi and the Vietnamese chef making the Vietnamese food. Too often in Boston you have these fusion restaurants where the menu is a mix of every type of asian food and it all comes out just ok. The only downside is that this place doesn't serve alcohol. Hopefully they'll get a liquor license or at least offer BYOB! Dimming the lights at night would probably add some intimacy to the feel of the place too. read more

I was so hoping Le's would become our go-to spot but we were severely disappointed. It's a small, family owned restaurant with a vast menu. It felt as if I was bothering the waitress every time I asked her for something - seriously she would just stare at me and walk away with a smug when I asked for little things like a straw, fork, or sweet and sour sauce. I asked the waitress for a sushi that was either fried or would come out "warm"/hot, and she recommended one (can't remember what the name of it was). The sushi came out cold/raw but I ate it anyway, and decided not to complain at the time because I didn't want to piss off the waitress even more.
