Cucumber Collins! Must have a delicious!
    Steve L.

Wow wow wow! Are you looking for both an amazing cocktail and a very chill atmosphere? The Arendell Room is your place and you HAVE to get the Cucumber Collins made with gin. It is phenomenally refreshing. So much so I had two haha. This place is great and they are here to serve and make sure you are served well (as in good not cheap alcohol ROFLOL)!

Do the bartenders choice!! These mixologists are absolutely top notch. Just let them know what flavors you like and don't like and they will magically come up with the perfect drink for you! Super nice bar with two sides and a rooftop deck. Must stop while in Morehead.

Stump the ump...I mean bartender....it's impossible! These bartenders know how to make any drink and make them well. We went two nights in a row and our bartender greeted us with a smile both nights. We were in the main bar but there are other areas that have a fun vibe too. There is no food so eat before you come. I'm a drink snob and I give this place a perfect 10.

The best curated cocktail menu in eastern North Carolina. A favorite spot for Carteret County locals. Cozy atmosphere and professional staff. Each drink is made to order with fresh ingredients.

I've been anxiously waiting to come back to NC just to go to Arendell Room. Beyond expectations!! Denny and the staff are amazing. The place is beautiful and good luck selecting your beverage if you're looking at the menu. He will gladly make an original drink just for you if nothing on the ever changing menu catches your eye. I started with a yummy blueberry sage gin drink that was perfect. Not to sweet, not to strong but a wonderful blend of flavors. My other half had the Cucumber Collins which (I believe) lives in the menu. So refreshing and crisp I had to have one for my second beverage. The place is immaculate and the restrooms are well kept and lovely. I appreciate the perks like hairspray and lotion available. Great friendly crowd and lots of lively conversations. So impressed with Arendell Room- a true gem in the heart of downtown Morehead City. Go check them out and tell Denny "Meg" sent you!

Super cute atmosphere!!! And loved the note on the menu cocktails were very good as well! Bartender was very sweet and gave great service to us! Highly recommend

The Cucumber Collins is the best drink in the world! Try it! You will be amazed! I've tried to make it at home but cannot compete. The bathroom doors slide!

Fabulous selection of bourbon. I enjoyed a Jefferson's Ocean and Bibb & Tucker. Both smooth. We sat outside in the back and had a fabulous time reminiscing with friends. Looking forward to our return.

"Woohoo! I don't think we are in Kansas anymore!" The Arendell Room is a refreshingly, delightful fish out of water in Morehead City and well, Eastern North Carolina for that matter. It's classic and contemporary with lots of subtle old timey decorative touches, very urban renewal city chic. I love the exposed brick wall, the dim lighting (especially the floor track lighting), the long wooden bar, and lit mirrored bar back that illuminates the rare liquors making them seem as if they were singing "Hallelujah" in a clever effort to get you to order one or three of the many well-crafted cocktails to choose from. The well-crafted cocktail formula: 1. Rare or quality liquors - No $6 1.75L bottles of Gibleys Gin or similar in the well (or anywhere in the bar for that matter) 2. Proper barware - it's all about the presentation 3. Fresh mixers - simple syrup or sour mix cooked from scratch, squeezed lime/lemon juice, fresh fruit 4. Unique ingredients - such as pepper, lychees, ginger beer, edible flowers, vegetables (cucumber), basil or other herbs 5. Technique - one word: MUDDELER (and garnish) The Arendell Room has it all! They were out of Hendricks Gin but they had to my dismay and delight a gin from my homeland (California) - I had never tried it before but it was surprisingly smooth and great in the sweet Basil Berrington. I was also happy that the bartender had heard of my favorite drink the 1950s classic, the Moscow Mule (Ginger Beer, Vodka, and lime juice) and made it. The ginger beer didn't have the kick I'm accustomed to, but for ginger beer virgins it would be perfect. I want to try the whole cocktail menu and if my liver and tolerance for alcohol would allow, all in one sitting because it's just so hard to choose!

Great atmosphere, great drinks. I ordered the Moscow Mule with Jalepeno, it was perfect. Great bar staff who always know just what to recommend. I'm an out of towner, but I'll definitely be back next time I visit Morehead City.

The seating and lighting were great. Our server, Kayla was very professional and efficient. As one might imagine, a seating of 14 can be difficult. She handled us with aplomb! Many different items were ordered. I started with the wedge salad where the iceberg lettuce, blue cheese crumbles and bacon were the stars of the show. I ordered the duck breast for my entree. The fat was perfectly rendered and the puréed carrots pair extremely well with the richness of the deck. A must have with the duck is their in-house made pear martini which blended perfectly with the fig sauce served over the duck. My husband ordered the Shrimp Cocktail as my appetizer. The shrimp were plump and perfectly steamed! The cocktail sauce was fresh made and delicious! His entree was Pistachio Butter Scallops. They were served on a bed of polenta with a side of haricot verts! The scallops were sautéed to a point where the edges were just ever so crispy while the interior of the scallop was tender and sweet! He said this was one of the best meals he'd have ever had and we've dined at many 4 & 5 star restaurants! I almost forgot to mention the bread service! We were offered either a Baguette or Focaccia bread. The focaccia was so outstanding, we bought an extra half loaf to bring home!!! Even though we were both happily satiated, we shared their pan fried pound cake with salted caramel gelato and chantilly cream for dessert! It was simply amazing! The management staff and chef came to our table to check on our service and meals. They were very appreciative of our glowing feedback! We'll definitely be coming back! I highly recommend going to Gretchen's Bistro in Oriental! You won't be disappointed! Sorry...only the one pic, because we were a large group enjoying a multitude of conversations.

We ordered from the limited drink menu and four of our drinks took around 20 minutes and the 5th another 10 minutes. My requested glass of water arrived sometime after that (was ordered with other drinks). Food arrived for 2 people after about 40 minutes, and the other 3 about 10 minutes later. Aren't all guests' meals generally served at the same time? Drinks were very beautiful, but mine was served in a tall champagne flute-type glass and was poorly mixed. All the alcohol was in the bottom. Food was small-ish portions and only okay although the presentation was very nice. My "Lunch in Nice" crepe was under-filled and more like a quesadilla than a crepe. The menu stated, "Chèvre cheese, spinach, honey, shaved almonds" but the only thing inside the crepe was cheese. The raw spinach was on top and the honey and shaved almonds were drizzled on the plate. It was over-cooked and a bit crispy. To top it off, I was over-charged by $1.50 for the crepe (just realized that looking back at the menu). I enjoyed the lunch company very much, but can't recommend the restaurant.

It's a fun little spot with indoor and outdoor seating right off the beach if that's the atmosphere you're looking for. The place itself has a great laid-back beach-bar vibe however the attitude behind the bar just didn't quite match it. The 3 star rating is primarily based on that fact. We took a weekday trip to the beach at the end of July and were pleasantly surprised to find Tacklebox Tavern open late on a Sunday night and it was karaoke night too! The bar was fairly busy for a Sunday, with a fun mix of locals and travelers and an age range that seemed to go from early 20s all the way into the 60s. The crowd was friendly, the drinks were cheap, and the atmosphere was exactly what we needed for a fun Sunday night at the beach! My biggest complaint was the service. The bartenders consistently seemed annoyed and irritated, and at times it felt like simply ordering a drink was an inconvenience to them. I completely understand that working behind a busy bar can be hectic, but the attitude was noticeable enough that it took away from an otherwise really enjoyable experience and was mentioned by multiple patrons. A little more friendliness behind the bar would have made this place a home run for us.
