Three of us had dinner here on a weekday. We had made a reservation for 6pm but there were only two…read moreother occupied tables when we arrived. However the brightly lit restaurant filled up as we ate. For appetizers, we started with the corn queso which was served with chips and pita and also we ordered the plantains which were served with an avocado cream and a chimichurri dipping sauce. The plantains came served in a cone-shaped container and you could see it on every other table. Both were really delicious. The queso was above amazing. The corn flavor really came through. Highly recommend. For my main, I ordered Plantain and pumpkin seed crusted mahi. It was good! I also like the rice it came with Our cocktails were delicious. Great service. Highly recommend this restaurant.

By far my favorite meal I had in Wichita (and I ate a lot of meals). Sabor is a smaller restaurant…read moreright in Old Town, it's bright and vibrant. The service was incredible, the owner was walking around talking to tables and the bartender happily offered me suggestions on what to eat and drink. I started with the salmon croquettes. I am so glad I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered these instead of some of the transitional Latin starters on the menu. These were perfectly fried, beautifully crispy but, creamy on the inside. They didn't taste fishy at all and dipped into the fragrant tartar sauce it was an amazing bite. Surprisingly it also came with a flavorful fresh corn and black bean salsa. For my main I went with the suggestion of the bartender (my server) and I was so glad I did. The Churrasco Steak was a standout! And the choices of sauces on the side made this an exciting dish to eat, I would highly recommend ordering more than one sauce. The steak was tender and cooked wonderfully with a nice char from the grill. Sometimes with skirt steak it can be tough and overcooked, not at Sabor! It had a strong garlic and citrus flavor, definitely had been marinated which helped keep the meat tender. The mash on the side I believe was a chipotle mashed potato which elevated a traditional steak and potatoes to something unmistakably Latin. I cannot wait to return here because the menu is large and there are so many special dishes I want to sample.

The brand from OKC works really well in east Wichita! Whether you're stopping in for dinner or…read moremaybe just for a drink, Bricktown Brewery has plenty to choose from and delivers a great experience. There are easily 30 beers on tap/chilling in the fridge, ranging from local to national brands, with a great supporting wine and cocktail menu. The beer is cold and hits just right, plus it sets you up to order off that strong menu. From handheld to pizza, Bricktown has lots to choose from. I opted for the Rodeo Burger, a big burger topped with an onion ring, sliced jalapeños, bacon & BBQ sauce. Wowza! Fabulous burg, can't recommend enough. I washed it back with a Left Hand Nitro milk stout, which is maybe a touch heavy, but it's fall and it worked right. Alex, our server, was super quick and attentive; food came fresh and ready, clearly not off a warmer, and the turnaround time was superb! The place has some high ceilings, and with plenty of screens to pay attention to, it might get loud during a sportsball session. But there's plenty of seating, both in the dining area and at the bar, and the decor fits not only the theme but the space. Easy to park, seating is quick, they're open until at least 9:00 daily, and the seasonal specials are definitely worth a look when you stop in.
