Argentum is great for actor services! Like headshots, post cards, websites, etc... The majority of my experience with Argentum has been on their "hot sets" this is a service they offer to help actors get footage for their reels. Argentum sets up a set, and then shoots the actors in the scene. They use professional quality cameras, sound equipment, editing, color grading, etc... They also film on multiple cameras so that once edited the clip looks professional, and most importantly looks like something that could actually be seen on film, or television. Argentum also uses professional actors as your scene partners, and the actors will also work with you to make sure that you're getting the best performance possible! They're also happy to let you bring your own scene partner. The guys that run the "hot sets" are great as well. They're extremely helpful, and really work hard to make sure that every scene turns well. They're also just cool guys. I know that might sound silly, but when you're spending time with people it helps that they're nice. The price is reasonable for the service being offered, and the quality is high. For anyone looking to add some footage to their reel I would definitely recommend Argentum. I'd recommend them for other actor services as well. read more

I was emailing with Argentum and they were not the best with communication. I said several times that I needed my headshot by Wednesday 7/31 and I reached out on 7/24 about this. They kept emailing back saying my photo was too small so finally I was able to send them the photo with the correct pixel size and they were like well we won't have it printed until Friday 8/2 now sorry. They told me this on Tuesday 7/30. So unprofessional. Like call me, let me know that in advance don't just tell me the freaking day before I need them. So luckily, I was referred by one of the staff at Argentum to the Actors Photo Lab in studio city.(which is also shady... why would the manager recommend I go take my business to a competing company?) again, poor customer service. I was assisted at the actors photo lab by Marvin. He was FANTASTIC. He printed 10 of my headshots not just the same day for $32 but in only two hours! $32 was literally half of what Argentum wanted to charge me to do a first time setup and to print 10 photos...even though I've been printing headshots with them for four years now. When I came to pickup my photos I told Marvin that he looked familiar and he said that he used to work at Argentum for years so happy that I did not go with Argentum and that that Marvin is at Actors Photo Lab now. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff at Argentum! I started going to them somewhat reluctantly when they were still at their old location, and was hesitant, as the prices seemed high. However, it really is true that you get what you pay for; their prints are truly the best quality in town, and worth every penny! I have had trouble in the past ordering via their website, and I tend to appreciate talking to a person (at the bank, etc.), rather than have the entire experience be online (from start to finish, as Argentum has been implementing for some time now)... and they've always been quick to respond to my emails with concerns, and to accommodate my needs, like okay-ing proofs of reorders via online photos sent by email, rather than physically drive to them to do so. Also, they are always so friendly and helpful over the phone! I understand that people have good stories about this place, but here is MY story of my personal experience with Argentum: Ajay was the guy that photoshopped my headshot - such a mediocre job!! When he sent it for approval the first time, my teeth weren't even whitened and my nose was still shiny. After I brought this to his attention I can tell that the very little skills he learned in night school weren't up to par. When he emailed it again for approval the 2nd time, He left a discoloration on my nose where he tried to remove the shine. It's called " Layer+Mask All " if he knew what he was doing, he would've applied that very method and that wouldn't of happened. I approved the photo after this, simply because he was incompetent and if I pointed other things out, like fixing the lackluster in my eyes ( I also pointed that out to him initially) he still wouldn't know what to do! How many takes does it take?? I worked my magic on it, and I did a far better job than him. So much for trusting a professional. read more

I use the casting suite. I like to go here because of Lauren. She is excellent. It is very difficult to find her unique balance of skill and generosity. When working on your audition, she never gives you a sense of judgment; she allows you to work. She is also great in giving you feedback (if you want it), or she is really intuitive about just giving you space, when you need it. Essentially she is great, because she really makes the process about you. If you need a helping hand, she is quite skilled, and willing to help, but if not, she allows you the space and energy you need in order to focus. These things may sound simple; but when you are in a vulnerable postion, as auditions are quite vulnerable, it's great to have someone as intuitive as her in the room with you. Also, she is great reader. And, I don't doubt a fantastic actress! Prices are a bit high, but Lauren makes it worth it. read more

I love this for place ! And all the people that work there ... I used to dread when I would get a self-tape from my agent , but now I actually look forward to it because I know Argentum is gonna help me get an amazing looking tape to send in .. I still of course have to do my part but as far as worrying about lighting and sound .. they take care of all of that. These guys and gals are just nice people that do really good work. They will take the time to talk about what you need and what you don't need. But the other night they hosted a seminar on Social Media for I guess about 100 people. I understand with technology progressing the way it is. There could be an inclination for some to skirt some cost thus affecting Argentum. They know that but they still got involved with helping people understand what Social Media can do at a certain risk to their bottom line. It was very very informative. The speaker, Ryan, well known in this area was great. The people there asked good questions. I walked away knowing something but that added up to very little in the big picture. I have been all over Los Angeles/Hollywood for photo printing (including headshots), & NOWHERE compares to Argentum. It sounds corny, but Argentum doesn't treat your photos like "just another job" - they seem to really understand that YOUR JOB depends on these photos coming out right. They care about quality, double-checking spacing, lines, crisp edges, colors etc. even on the final printed headshots before they are willing to deliver them. I've even had them notice a printing error, just a slight smudge, and go back & reprint my entire batch of their own accord. In a town & industry where too many businesses exist to take advantage of eager young artists who don't know better, Argentum is a breath of fresh air for their quality & care. Today I was a first time customer. I needed headshots printed in a sort of small time table. The file i needed to have printed was already edited so I only needed them to print it. I don't live in Burbank or near it. I wasn't able to make my test appointment and it's now the end of the week. So I was worried they would make me wait until the following Monday. But then, when I got there and approved the photo, I was offered a chance to walk away with them the hard copies if I agreed to wait for a few minutes. I said yes, I waited and UREKA. It was 108 degrees in burbank today. And their small self taping room has no Ac or air and it felt hotter than outside. The guy who's taping is nice but I was sweating like crazy. My whole face and body starting to sweat. That was my first experience there at their taping room. You would think they would make the room a little cooler for people to come in .
