A real hidden gem of a restaurant nested away in the south of Brooklyn. The food was nothing short of incredible. A group of friends and I left feeling very satisfied with the food, have some to take home and spent less than $40 per head, inclusive of tip! Each table was nicely laid out with stands dotted around to help keep the food elevated and easily accessible (family style is the way to go here). The Pkhali mix was simply out of this world. I couldn't get enough of the beet one but that's not to say the spinach one wasn't good - it was also very tasty. Everything was well seasoned; lots of herbs were used but in a balanced manner so it never felt overpowering. Dishes were rich in flavor, but not sickly - fat came mainly from nuts as opposed to butter. The Georgian lemonade was interesting. The minty aftertaste complimented our meal nicely. Even the seltzer (Nabeglavi) was different, which is believe is down to the use of mineral water instead of spring. I recommend giving both these drinks a try. I almost forgot, the Adjarian Khachapuri was just fantastic. I was not able to take a picture as the waiter was quick with preparing (mixing the egg) and serving the dish as it arrived at our table. My meal here really opened my eyes to the diverse and complex flavors of Georgian cuisine. I can't say I've had the real deal til now. Good service, particularly excellent job at bringing each order out at a good pace, unlike many places. Couple things: if they are only going to have two waiters for the entire packed restaurant (with no support staff), don't charge a 10% service charge that doesn't go to them. I'd rate Argo four and a half stars. We came here for a week night dinner. I'd say about half the tables were fully which I think is pretty good considering it was a week night. I didn't see any alcohol on the menu. It seemed like bringing your own alcohol was permitted. Huge liquor store across the street for anyone interested. We started with the Georgian salad with nut sauce. It featured thick cut tomatoes and cucumbers with onions and an oil based dressing plus a nut based dressing. Definitely a good starter. Next we had the fried potatoes with mushrooms and the adjaruli khachapuri. Both were great too. Potatoes were cut thin and were super crispy. They rivaled any fried potatoes or French fries that I've had. I believe they were served with Maitake Mushrooms. I was expecting something like cremini or button mushrooms so I was surprised to see something more interesting. Khachapuri was great too. The waiter was kind enough to show us the proper way if serving it. For our main course, we shared the Bronzino. I believe it was fried and nicely seasoned too (I think it was a paprika based seasoning). Fish came out delicious. Front of the house seemed understaffed. They had one fellow seating tables, waiting, serving, and busing. He was an all star. We never waited long for anything and I enjoyed his enthusiasm for all the dishes. If you are looking to taste great Georgian Cousine , that's the place to go. The restaurant is not big, but cozy, it's very outdated in terms of the interior decor, that's why I took one star out. It's more like a cafe, not restaurant. But the food is very delicious, fresh .the portions are good . The service is outstanding, the wait time is minimum, and the prices are very friendly . We went to another Georgian restaurant on Emmons , Brooklyn, and the bill was the same in both places, but only on Emmons there were only 4 of us, and in Argo, there were 8 of us. read more

Very good kachapuri. That's a risky dish for delivery and mine tip just enough for the egg to spill into the pizza box. But never fear, that was repairable by heating the bread and cheese bowl back up and dropping an egg in and mix it up. Grat bread. Good Borscht. Review this place is from a professional chef, I'm only posting. "Even if you are a Georgian, this does not mean that you can cook" So, we attended a small party this weekend. The food: Khachapuri - the dough is too thin, the tips that customarily to be broken off and dipped into the cheese are too small, there is nothing to break and the dough itself is under-baked. The cheese is, apparently, cheap mozzarella, there is not even a slight aftertaste of suluguni. When serving, the waiter, with deliberate laziness, threw a cold cube of butter on top of khachapuri, butter fell on of a raw egg, which resulted in butter not melting and the egg remaining raw. Georgian fried liver or liver cubes - The liver was overcooked, part of it was like a hard stone, part of it crumbled into dust, plus it was incredibly peppery, which was most likely done to disguise the depravity of the product. Fried calamary -They were fried correctly, but, since they had bitter to them, it can only be assumed that they were fried in old overused oil. Khinkali - The only plus that they were served whole and unbroken, but the broth inside and the meat filling were not unified. Most likely, pre-cooked minced meat in the form of ready-made meatballs was wrapped with frozen broth, formed khinkali and then cooked. The meat was tasteless like cotton wool, the broth was terribly salty. I could go through other "delicacies" served, but I think that's enough, and some of them I did not dare to try. To add insult to injury - when the time came to pay of this party, our hosts were confronted with the demand to leave more tips. On their argument that the bill includes 10 percent for the service, they were told that this is the owner's money, and they are MUST to give another 20 percent to the waiter in addition to this and in cash. Rating "-10". But we put "1" because it is impossible to go lower. read more

It was not bad experience.. Coffee was excellent, soups are good, tasty. Tsatsivi sauce was not good enough..it supposed to be much thicker with 7 herbs and walnuts. Chicken was absolutely tasteless. Quality of lamb meat was very low on a scale from 1 to 5. its 2. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want an authentic Georgian food. read more

Best Georgian cuisine in south Brooklyn so far. I have trie khachapuri in multiple locations including supermarkets and restaurants but this place blows all others away. I hate it when the ratio to cheese and dough is greater on the dough side. Argo is not at all stingy with their cheese! And uses the slimmest amount of dough to make it like your eating a delicious abundance of melted variety of cheeses with enough dough to not mask the amazing flavours. I'm not going to stop there, I have in their tuna Tata twice at this point first time they made it with pineapple and I absolutely loved it so I came back expecting the same thing but they threw a huge curveball at me and brought out to Tata with mango this time! It was just as amazing if not more so. My cousin has there fried liver cubes and I have never heard him express food is amazing until he had their fried liver cubes, he didn't even give us an opportunity to try them! They're gone in like two minutes. We also had beef ribs which were so well prepared no fall off the bone. And another one of my favourites now is there a chicken liver with pomegranate, I asked them to make it not spicy because it comes very spicy and it was absolutely delicious but if you're looking to eat something spicy you enjoy this either way. read more

After a great delivery experience we went into the restaurant for dinner. We were stuck in a cramped table at front of restaurant. The lights were very bright and the decor was dingy. There seemed to be one server working the entire restaurant which was totally full with what seemed to be one large party. At one point the guests or the restaurant played happy birthday songs at a ridiculous decibel. The party was almost the entire restaurant, which if they do such a big party, they should not have other guests as the restaurant which is not equipped service wise or design wise to accommodate. Sat for at least 25 minutes before even getting water. A disgusting, unbused table behind us stacked with dirty plates, food, and glassware. Ordered a drink we never received. It was loud, crowded, and an overall terrible evening. Food was mediocre at best inside such an uninviting atmosphere. read more

FOOD: 6.4/10 We got the chicken tabaka, Georgian sausage, cheese boat, fruit cocktail and Georgian lemonade. That Georgian homemade sausage was a little special cuz there was pomegranate in it. Couldn't really taste the herbs and contents of the sausage unless you really focus on this ish... The sausage was okay, the flavor was veryyyyy vague. You woulda thought if it's home made and they decided to put that out on the market, it'd be spectacular but idk.. The cheese boat was pretty good, out of the two I'd say this one was the less preferred. A LOT of cheese, I'd say a little too watery. The chicken tabaka was very soft, it was decent. But out of all the chicken tabaka I've had... This was nothing special. I'd actually say it's least seasoned as well. Pricing I'd say was pretty fair besides the cheese boat being like 12 dollars. I'd say it should be around 6-7 and you'd still be doing a 700% or more profit margin. SERVICE: 7.7/10 The waiter was pretty nice and tentative. The host guy is the worst I've ever probably seen in my life. Extremely unfriendly. I never thought I would experience something in restaurant. The food is ok. If service was at least "ok" I could say that the restaurant is 3 stars. The waiter said that they have best khachapuri and kharcho. I swear it was worst kharcho. Thought the food was decent, I would go back to try other dishes. Manti was not good at all, way too doughy and the lamb filling tasted very dry and lacked flavor. They served us Georgian bread which I did not order, and I got charged for it! Thought they served us this for free but nope. The chakapuli was quite delicious, but was too sour for my taste. The tiramisu was pretty good but had a bitter taste. The Napoleon was terrible, it was creamy but too much pastry flakes, it lacked flavor, it just tasted like I was eating something fattening with no taste. My work place ordered Turkey for thanksgiving and it was delicious. Generally, great food.

This is a really solid Georgian restaurant. The reservation was easy to make, and they even confirmed with me the day before. Both Georgian and Greek salads were good, so as the chicken liver cubes. Fried potatoes with mushrooms were DELICIOUS. I was not too much of a fan of khachappuri, because I don't like this type of cheesy food, but my understanding is that it was really good too. I didn't particularly like their version of "manti " which are large dumplings with lamb. I also didn't love my lyulya kebab. Overall, the food was good. It felt authentic and flavorful. The service was good too. The waiter was friendly, pleasant and quick. The best part?? It came out to only $240 for 8 people!! Including the tip! Great value for all the food. read more

After reading about that just now I checked my old receipt and found I had gotten stuck with that charge too without noticing. Nice service , clean place but classical chicken dish "satzivi" was obviously from yesterday.. It was quite disappointing as we came to taste fresh food that is hard to cook at home - especially satzivi. Hopefully they will review their produce more often read more
