This is an update that is some time overdue that I meant to post earlier so no other potential patients will have to experience similar things to what I have exp My time here is done. I am done with being taken advantage of and not receiving the proper treatment. What made me change my rating and review of this place? My crown, which I've only had for almost 4 years, has fallen off TWO times within six months. When it fell out the 2nd time, not only did Dr. A create a hole in my crown while she was cleaning it, but it also fell out again two days later after she "temporarily cemented" back on again. Each time it fell out, I was expected to pay for cementing it on again. If the crown was cemented on property in the first place, it should not be falling out. Crowns are supposed to last for MANY years, and for a crown to fall out within 4 years is ridiculous. I also had to wait 1.5 weeks to get an appointment after my crown fell off the 2nd time. You would think that for an emergency like this, they would accommodate a time that works for the patient ASAP to fix the problem. Each time my crown has fallen out, Dr. A would accuse me for eating sticky and/or hard foods and grinding my teeth. Both are not true-- I know my diet, and as for the grinding, my partner and I would know that that were the case. When I come in for cleanings, I would also get accused for chewing on pencils (excuse me? I have NEVER chewed on pencils or pens before). Every time I come in, I experience pain, discomfort, and accusations. The dentist and whoever the assistant happens to be in the time being (she has a high turnover for assistants) are not very compassionate people-- they don't prioritize how their patients are feeling. They never check with me if I'm feeling okay or anything. The crown situation is the last straw for me, and I feel like now I can be completely honest right now since I am now leaving and taking my business elsewhere. The best part of this business is the kind, responsive secretary, Veronica. *Note: I am now with a new dentist for 2 or so years now, and the new crown that I got has never fallen out since. I also have not experienced any of the discomfort that I thought was normal to have when I was with Argonaut Dental. read more

They took over my previous dentist Dr. Watkins's practice. We were told that the staff, location, and insurance network would remain the same. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Soon after, the location was closed and merged into their current office, and then my long-time hygienist left.. During my most recent visit, which is the 2nd time after the acquisition, and I do cleaning every 4 months, Dr. Aggarwal did my cleaning herself. It was done fairly quick. she used almost entirely sonic cleaning with barely any manual scaling. My teeth did not feel fully clean afterward, and I can still feel calculus between them when I floss. A brand-new hygienist who had just started handled my X-rays. For me, a practice's ability to retain its team says a lot about how it's run. Seeing all the previous employees leave and that she doesn't have enough staff (?) to do our cleaning make me wonder about their retention and overall management. read more

I was a transfered patient after my longtime Saratoga dentist Dr Watkins retired and I can say I'm happy with Argonaut Dentals high level of care and patient concern. read more

I have previously had dental work done at this office and was always very happy with both the doctor and the front desk staff. Unfortunately, my visit today for a cleaning and exam was a very disappointing experience. For background, my oral hygiene has consistently been excellent for my age. My periodontal charting typically ranges from 1-3 mm with no bleeding and only an occasional 4 mm pocket. Tartar buildup has historically been minimal and limited to a few areas, usually requiring ultrasonic scaling only on the inside of my lower front teeth and the outside of my back molars. I have never had issues with either ultrasonic or hand scaling in the past. During today's appointment, the hygienist began using the ultrasonic scaler aggressively on every tooth. The procedure was unusually uncomfortable, and I was concerned as to why this level of scaling was necessary throughout my entire mouth. I signaled multiple times that I was in pain, particularly around restorations. Although she paused briefly, she resumed with the same level of force. Eventually, I had to ask her to stop due to multiple areas of irritation in my mouth. When she resumed after a short break, the scaler poked my lip, which was quite painful. Although there was no bleeding, the incident added to my discomfort. She told me the cleaning was almost finished, so I agreed to continue. At that point, her technique changed significantly and became much more gentle--similar to what I have experienced with other hygienists. I do not understand why this gentler approach was not used earlier, especially after I repeatedly communicated my discomfort. Feeling mistreated, I chose to end the cleaning at that point and did not proceed with hand scaling. The doctor then came in for the exam. While she remained professional, I felt very rushed, as it appeared she was in the middle of another appointment and was simultaneously directing staff in the adjacent room. I am still experiencing pain in multiple areas of my buccal mucosa, with visible irritation and a few tiny blood blisters. Overall, this visit was stressful and painful, and it was very disappointing given my positive experiences at this office in the past. read more

She is an exceptional dentist/ She takes the time to explain everything, is very conservative in her approach and does not over treat. I deeply appreciate her meticulous approach and commitment to getting every detail right. I always leave feeling confident my oral health is in the very best hands. Long overdue review! I had such a great experience with the staff and Dr. Aggarwal at Argonaut Dental. I was previously a patient at a different facility and had a bad experience that made me not visit the dentist for nearly 2 years. After some time, I knew I needed to go in for a cleaning and also remove my last wisdom tooth (grown out) which had been causing me some pain. I found Dr. Aggarwal through my insurance provider directory and through Google. I did a lot of research to find a new dental practice and narrowed down to Argonaut Dental. I applied as a new patient and made an appointment for a cleaning. The lady at the front desk and the Dental Hygienist were so kind and welcoming when I arrived. Dr. Aggarwal and staff were very thorough and informed me of things I needed to know/be on top of regarding my oral health. As I've mentioned, I had one last grown wisdom tooth (upper right side) that was causing me some pain. That tooth was particularly annoying to clean as it was so far back and grown at a slight angle. My previous dentist mentioned it would be difficult to pull so they never bothered. I mentioned this to Dr. Aggarwal who took a look at it and said she was confident she could remove the tooth. On my second visit, Dr, Aggarwal had pulled my wisdom tooth in about 30 seconds - I was both relieved and floored lol!! Waiting for the numbing took longer than the time it took to pull the tooth. Since the procedure was so quick, Dr. Aggarwal offered to fill in some chipped areas I had on my two front teeth which she did! I recovered quickly from the wisdom tooth procedure with no issues. I'm thankful to Dr. Aggarwal and her staff for their professionalism and care. I am relieved to finally have a reliable dentist near me that I can visit for future care. Argonaut Dental is by far the best dental practice in the Bay Area! The staff is super friendly and nice. Updated Review: I had a procedure done at Argonaut Dental to have crowns put on and Dr. Aggarwal did a phenomenal job! This was a rushed case since I was visiting from out of state, but Dr. Aggarwal still made sure that the procedure was completed on time and that the crowns fit perfectly. "How do you break up with your dentist?" Never thought the day would come, but after 6.5+ years of loyally attending Argonaut Dentist... it is time. When it was announced last year that Argonaut Dentistry was changing ownership, I remained hopeful. While I never truly loved going to the dentist (who does?) Dr. Prasad and her staff always made it a pleasant experience. I hoped that the new management would uphold those standards. But the new dentist is..... rough around the edges. I attended two appointments with her. The first appointment, she barely said hello.. not even introducing herself. I get it, not everyone can be a social butterfly, but as someone who doesn't love going to the dentist, some friendly chatter goes a long way! The second appointment was a general cleaning. The appointment started 20+ minutes late, and strangely the dentist performed the whole cleaning herself (no dental assistant). Water was flying everywhere, she would frequently rest dental equipment and used floss on my bib/cloth. Overall an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. I could go more into detail, but the point is, I don't believe one should leave a dentist appointment needing a change of clothes. If a cleaning went this way, I would personally not want to get a more serious procedure done here. (My personal preference.. Her dental work is outstanding, her numbing protocol completely removes any pain. You can tell that she goes beyond what is usual to ensure that her work is completed perfectly. I came here for a first visit, and during the intake process the office of course asks new patients to fill out an standard form asking about past medical and dental history, current medications, etc... One of the questions was something to the effect of whether you had ever had a bad dental experience before. I responded that the last time I went to the dentist, the dentist was overly aggressive in pushing "routine" X-rays. And in response to a subsequent question as to whether there was anything I wanted the dentist to know, I wrote that I was not interested in X-rays. I am middle-aged, healthy, have no dental complaints, and have never needed as much as a single cavity filled. During the visit, the dentist and hygienist proceeded to bring up X-rays no fewer than 7 times in ways that were increasingly patronizing. Yet never once did they ask me for the reason behind my objection to X-rays - though I would bet the house they incorrectly assumed it was concern about radiation. The only actual question that I raised - options for teeth whitening - was ignored. Though they had no problem creating a virtual 3D model of my teeth and showing what they would look like after Invisallign - despite never expressing any interest in this whatsoever. Then upon check-out, the clerk asked me to sign a patronizing form absolving the the dentist of any liability due to my refusal of X-rays, as if patient autonomy is not a core value of dentistry (any maybe it's not). As a physician myself, I know that it's a myth that such forms (similar to hospital AMA forms) protect against lawsuits; the care provider only needs to document that the risks and benefits were discussed with the patient, and the patient made an informed decision to decline the test and/or treatment. But I guess making a patient sign a form is easier than talking to them like an intelligent adult. On the positive side, the office was clean. read more

What a wonderful, professional and caring dentist Victory is! I recently went to Argonaut Dental because I had an emergency. While I was flossing my teeth, one of my fillings came out just before a planned vacation. Victoria was so understanding and she immediately that day went about putting in a filling and then said that I needed a crown over that filling. Even though her office is not opened on Saturday, upon receiving the emergency crown, she and her dental assistant came in to finish my crown installation. I would highly recommend her to those looking for an intelligent, expert, and supportive dentist to be a client of hers. It was my first time here wanted to check this new place that's in the neighborhood. I was looking for routine teeth cleaning. Parking: Starting with parking there's tons of it, and also there's dedicated parking in front of the dental office for just the patients Ambience: very spacious n clean + neat which is a big plus for me. The front desk is polite and helps you through your form filing process if you are new. Added bonus: They have a kids play room, to keep them busy if you have to drag them along. It's well stocked with interactive toys and books. I would love to play here if I was a kid. Doctors: I met doctor Parul who runs the place. She is very polite, friendly, sweet. Goes through your history if you are new and meticulous n Detail oriented. I say that coz she really took the effort to look at the new xrays. If you're kind of hesitate to go the dentist, or have some anxiety about it. Argonaut Dental is the place to go. From the moment I called and spoke with Veronica at the front desk, I felt at ease and I knew my concerns were being addressed. (Veronica was kind and pleasant over the phone and in person the entire time). I actually called the office again at their lunch hours and was pleasantly greeted by Dr. Aggarwal, who so kindly got me in for an emergency appointment the same day. At my initial appointment Dede not only took my X-rays but made sure I knew that my anxiety was common and that everything will be okay. The second appointment was only three days later and consisted of a root canal. Root canals are never easy, and with my anxiety I'd say it's not easy at all. However Dr. Aggarwal and Dede made sure I was comfortable through out the whole procedure. Dr. Prasad has been our family dentist since we moved to Saratoga and we are very happy. I am not the best or easy patient given my gag reflex and being generally terrified of dentists. She will make you comfortable, provide you with personal attention, and make sure you are receiving the best care possible. I once had an emergency crown situation and the doctor came to the office on Sunday to help me out. I have avoided the Dentist due to severe anxiety until I had a partial tooth fracture that finally forced me to seek help. They were able to get me in very quickly. While there they were very supportive when I told them about my phobia and they made me feel very comfortable.
