5 stars all day long... buy sadly.. 50 year patient. Gary senior was our family dentist.. he grew an amazing practice we all loved and trusted. Dr P Jr is also an amazing dentist and well liked. Sadly the company has grown so large that it has seemed forget what customer service is and in some cases quite rude. Pushed to do more services than requested and they simply would not budge. I do wish the Pagonis family the best, you are an amazing group. read more

I came to this dental group because my husband had been going here for a while. He loved his dentist. However, his dentist left for another practice after I made my first appointment, so I ended up going here only once. I would never recommend them. Both the hygenist and the dentist tried hard to up sell me on everything, even treatments that weren't needed. When I first arrived they didn't have any of my dental records even though I provided them access when I made my appointment. The whole front office staff seemed terribly confused. On top of that their billing department is months behind. And when I canceled my 2nd appointment they called me twice to confirm my cancellation - one person saying that the other person didn't take down my cancellation correctly. My husband and I both followed his old dentist to her new practice and I'm happy to be leaving Cupertino Dental Group. This dental group is a mess. read more

5 stars for Dr. Sharareh. She's amazing. However, last year I had an appointment on a Tuesday at 4pm. I found out early Monday morning that I couldn't make it (my job was literally on the line). I called them on Monday at 9am to reschedule. They told me I would get charged $150 for cancelling within 48 hours. Instead of cancelling, I tried my best to make it, but I couldn't. I got billed $150. I personally know other people who are patients here who have cancelled same day and have not been charged a fee. I've been a patient for a few years now and hoped I would receive some courtesy. I called to ask for the fee to be waived since it was my first time ever having to cancel. Nope. "Policy". They would make more money if they kept me as a patient versus trying to make $150. I will not be returning. read more

I made appointment for my son here as it was recommended by my sister-in-law who's a professor at UOP and knows of several of the dentists. I don't know how their service is, but I do know they did not communicate the length of the appointment or what was to be done at appointment. I thought it was your standard cleaning and that's it. This lack of communication created several scheduling issues with me for the remainder of the afternoon. Upon arrival I was told it was a 45 minute appointment. Apparently that was a lie because after 45 minutes they told me that was just for X-rays and then cleaning was next. The lesson here is that you must verify with them what they are going to do prior to showing up so you know exactly how long they're going to take. They obviously don't consider your time in their equations of what they're doing when they book appointments as they don't communicate the total duration required for your appointment. The last time I checked the Earth revolved around the Sun not Cupertino Dental scheduling department. read more

I started as a patient here when I was in 5th grade and continued into my adult life and recommended many friends as patients which included my two children when they were done with the pediatric dentist. I loved Dr. Ken and then De. Nava who took over when he retired. Unfortunately, they chose to stop accepting Delta Dental and ask their patients to have their jobs provide other coverage. The only choice at my job is DD and I don't have the money to pay up front and wait to be reimbursed, as I am a widow who supports her children on a teacher's salary. They only accept PPO's and are never in network so you end up paying out of pocket, especially if you have Dr. JJ who is a definite up seller and saying work needs to be done when it doesn't. I am sad that De. Ken's practice has chosen profit over its long term patients. read more

Horrible place, hard to see the doctor even with appointment (personally wasn't able to see the doctor for many visit, always get told the doctor was out while I'm laying on the bench already..) and always expect long wait when visiting. However, if you are late to the appointment for just couple of minutes and provided very legitimate reasons, the front desk will tell you with a cold face that: oh all of a sudden your doctor is in today and he said you have to reschedule (god knows if it's really from the doctor). So for this place you can wait for hours (most likely won't be able to see the doctor eventually), but zero flexibility to any minor late arrivals even just for one time. Last piece of note, don't trust their review on Google cause I just found out they can't be reviewed there.. read more

I needed to get a crown replaced on a root canal tooth that was done a while back in Arizona when I lived there. I was able to make an appointment with the friendly and knowledgeable front office staff who was able to get me an appointment on short notice. Check-in was super easy and quick. I was called back for my appointment early and brought back to Dr. J.J.'s chair by my Dental Assistant Sunny (Sorry if I spelled it incorrectly!) who is absolutely wonderful. Sunny was able to painlessly take multiple needed x-rays of my mouth and prep me for Dr. J.J. prior to his arrival. Dr J.J. and Sunny took impressions of my mouth and put in a temporary crown until the permanent one arrived from the lab. This process was remarkably easy, painless and I felt like I've known Sunny and Dr. J.J. for years. I scheduled my next appointment with Monica, who was also very friendly and accommodating. The permanent crown arrived just short of 2 weeks later and I returned to CDG for placement. Dr. J.J. and Sunny are seriously the dream team of dentistry. The crown was placed, looked and felt great and adjusted perfectly. Dr. J.J. was sure to make alterations to my night guard and Sunny covered all the paperwork with me wonderfully. No surprises and complete transparency with every step and process. I can't say enough good things about Cupertino Dental Group, Dr. J.J. and Sunny. I couldn't be happier with the level of service and care I received at Dr. Mockler's practice. The entire staff is professional and friendly. They take the mystery out of the medical billing system so you know what will be covered and what will be owed out of pocket. I am so grateful to Dr Nava and the team at Cupertino Dental Group! I had some sensitivity I had in other teeth after a procedure, and the details were always changing and the pain was moving around between teeth so it was hard to figure out. They were very conservative in recommending treatment, and were able to help me get through it to a pain-free state without any additional procedures or work on my teeth. They saw me for free follow up appointments four times, with different dentists stopping in to help even when I was only scheduled to see an assistant, and got me in on short notice - all of this meant so much when I was trying to deal with mystery pain and not sure if I had a more serious problem. This is a group that has declined in professionalism and proficiency in the last few years. After 15 years of professional and conservative dental care, the practice has turned into a business first, patient care second group that focuses on the next procedure no matter how necessary, all while missing problems which should have been previously seen on X-rays. The Specialty Group includes part time oral surgeons, periodontists and endodontists who all spend, at most, a day or two per week at this practice and their lack of commitment shows. They disagree on treatment approaches for the same patient which couldn't be more frustrating and confusing for the patient involved. I recommend staying away from this practice. read more

Dr. Low and staff did an amazing job on internal bleaching my two front teeth that got dark due to root canals (see attached before and after pictures). Over the years, I went to many different dentist offices but no one really wanted to work on my teeth because they are healthy. Other dentists weren't confident enough to provide the right solution for my discolored teeth. When I talked to Dr. JJ, he told me right away what was going to happen. Step one would be internal bleaching since it's the cheapest and fastest option. If I wasn't happy, then we would've done crowns or veneers. I'm thrilled that internal bleaching worked very well for me. Highly recommend this office :) The office is really good at checking your insurance plan to make sure that you get all your teeth cleanings that your insurance allows allows per year!! I also love my hygienist who has a pretty complicated name, he is so funny and I'll get his name right someday. I would rate this office 1 million stars if I could yay!! read more

First of all let me say I absolutely hate going to the dentist. Ever since I was a kid. This is most likely the reason I put off going to the dentist for 10 years!! Ouch. Since I recently found out I am pregnant with twins, meaning I can no longer self medicate when I get a tooth ache. So i had to call the dentist. I spoke to Jennifer, who was so kind, considerate and caring i began to think maybe the dentist wasn't so bad. Jennifer kindly booked me an appointment the very next day with Dr. Alex. By this time I was in so much pain I was actually excited for my appointment. The process was easy, the entire and I mean entire staff was amazing!!! I walked out of the office with two more appointments booked and new love for the dentist!! Dr. Alex is fabulous, I had no pain during or after the fillings. Thru the entire procedure Dr. Alex checked with me to see if I was doing ok. I love the dentist now. So this morning when I woke up with a horrible pain in my mouth I literally counted down the minutes till I could call the dentist. I spoke to Jennifer, an angel, and she booked me an appointment for 9am ( same day!!). This time I met with Dr. Low. Dr. Low explained to me that I either needed to pull the tooth or get a root canal. I opted for the root canal. Then Dr. Low began gathering tools and I asked " wait you are going to do it right now??" Dr. Low said "yes unless you want to come back". At this point I started to cry, not because I was scared or sad but because I was in so much pain I was so relieved. I thanked him over and over again. So now a short 5 hours after the root canal I am able to eat just fine and have zero pain!!! I couldnt be happier. If you are looking for a dentist cupertino dental group has the best ones around!!! Well I have to change the way I feel about this place. While Dr. JJ does great work, they also rip off the patients. One time I heard 3 people call wondering about their bill. They said well he's premier now. Whatever....then they tried charging my sister and brother-in-law for something their insurance pays for, and their ins. told them they already paid for it. There is some other things they get sneaky about, but we all quit going there, and so far much happier with people not being so greedy, or lying to you. read more

I have been going to Dr.JJ for a few years now and I'm very happy with the quality of work I have received. Dr.JJ is very caring and a great dentist and his staff are also very good at what they do. There office is very clean and everything is up to date and state of the art. They always go the extra mile to make sure I feel comfortable and understand what they are doing or what needs to be done. I always love going in there for my cleanings to see Hospi! Wow, colour me impressed. :) I had an aching tooth and my regular dentist wasn't available. I called CDG and had an appointment same day with Dr Mockler. I met Dr Mockler and after an x-ray she ascertained that I might need a root canal. Because CDG has an on-site endodontist, I only needed to wait 15 mins and got a consultation with Dr Kyle Low during the same visit! Lisa (specialty co-ordinator) and Lauren (dental co-ordinator) were super professional, hospitable, and helpful. They both co-ordinated with each other to check my insurance and estimate my out of pocket expenses for both a root canal and a crown. AMAZING! Things you should know about the Cupertino Dental Group. Highly skilled Dental Assistants, Hygienists, and Dentists work with the group. Do you want a Dentist who is excellent or just good? After years of Dental School, loans, office costs, rent, utilities, and more. The fee they charge is commensurate with the quality of the dental work. They are there for emergencies and set a crown on Saturday afternoon for me with only one hour's notice. My assistant had gone to another dentist and told me her mouth hurt severely. I sent her to the Cupertino Dental Group to a fluent Spanish-speaking dentist. They discovered that the prior Dentist had put in a deficient bridge and charged her insurance for an expensive bridge. Cupertino Dental Group fixed her entire mouth and now she is comfortable. I recently had to have a root canal because I had broken a tooth nearly in half but it did not hurt so I left it for six months. The specialist did an excellent job with no pain at all. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Having gone to the Cupertino Dental group for over 15 years, I can attest that they do outstanding Dentistry. They stress taking care of your mouth, gums, and teeth. My husband and I had our teeth whitened, and we looked younger. What more could you ask for from your Dentist? read more

Cupertino Dental Group is the BEST! As many of us I had bad experiences in my childhood. My dentist Dr. J.J. Salehieh was so patient and wonderful. Fast forward 8 years later I was recovering from a blood disorder. Dr. J.J. explained to me I would be wasting my money however I didn't want dentures. We had a meeting and I decided to choose dental implants. I didn't have one Dr. I had a team of 6. Led by surgeon and innovator of the All on Four procedure Dr. Bedrossian I had both upper and lower implants. All along the way I had Dr. J.J., his assistant Lisa Heads, the optimistic and empathic coordinator Jen Dement, and Dr. Bedrossian's assistant Lisa Hansen. Not counting all the people that made my teeth EXACTLY the shape size and shade I wanted. They listened patiently through the process and never made me feel rushed. Also, the team themselves all worked together making sure my bite, the placement, and everything from a clinical standpoint was exact. I was the master of disguise before, never opening my mouth to smile or placing my hand over my mouth when I ate. I had an apple and an ear of corn for the first time in over 20 years. So research where you want to go but for me CUPERTINO DENTAL on Torre in Cupertino is THE BEST not only in the work they do but with the WONDERFUL people who stand by your side. The empathy was something I never experienced. Everything was met with compassion. As an aside a new center was recently finished right next store for various more complex work with the latest technology. I thought I would come here since it's right here in Cupertino by my work (Apple), but that was a mistake...I came in for a typical checkup and they said I had other services included in my insurance (like X-rays) so I thought "why not?"...they said the out of pocket expenses would be $20, which I paid there. They then called me afterwards demanding another ~$90, saying that the $20 they quoted was "just an estimate"..apparently they have a history of doing this... Never Dr. Alex again! I go to Cupertino Dental Group for few years, being treated by Dr. Nava and generally speaking, a happy customer. Last week Dr. Nava was on vacation and Dr. Alex replaced her for urgent calls. Well, one on my crowns fell off, I was scheduled to see Dr. Alex. From here on, everything goes south... (1) He glued onto the implant a crown that is supposed to be with a screw. No glue. (2) The crown was glued without disinfection/cleaning first. From my pocket to my mouth, (3) The glue didn't firm right, so Dr. Alex cleaned it while tearing apart my gum line, lots of pain, and took about 5 x-rays. If I would have not stop the x-ray frenzy, he would have probably take few more. Only after I told him "let's stop here and have Dr. Nava complete the job", he gave up on fixing the glueing issue. There is no quality standard for accepting dentists at Cupertino Dental Group. I do recommend on Dr. Nava, few years with her, never any pain, very professional. I'm not a dentist (just an engineer) so everything written above is my opinion from a patient point of view. read more

I had been a patient to this clinic for about eight years, and I had to switch. Yes, the clinic has modern equipments and the doctor is very skilled but again THERE ARE OTHER PLACES FOR THAT. Several Christmases ago my hygienist was cleaning my teeth and talking about what she wanted for Christmas from her husband. Things went on and on, and turned into digital cameras, and she overheard her pals discussing picture resolutions in the hallway, and she dropped everything and ran out, left me waiting with my mouth wide open. Oh she came back, to continue her thoughts on cameras and presents. And then there was the filling on one tooth but when my insurance statement came there were two and I had to call to find out the adjacent tooth had cavity, too, so they just seized the opportunity. Damn me I was too numb to tell. And then there are the ever so many suggestions to schedule another appointment to come in for things I don't really know what and why. Am I just paranoid? Should I trust them, because, uh, they're the experts? I do not want to be their fare of one night stay in Europe in the summer so I left. I saw my new dentist and she told me I was doing great! I've been coming to see Dr. Milton Pagonis since I was a little kid. For some 25 years on and off. He is an excellent dentist and helped me take great care of my teeth. The office itself is the same as it has been for years, though they have moved buildings to accommodate the addition of new dentists. :) I like that they installed tvs on swivels so you can see your xrays. My hygienist Lorena Brown is awesome. She's super sweet and always makes me feel good. She's quick and very skilled in what she does. My teeth always feel and look fabulous afterwards. The receptionist is very friendly and easily books your next appointment. She also discusses insurance and billing if you have any questions. Everything here is quick and painless! Be careful. I used to trust them. I do not anymore. They utilize creative bookkeeping and cannot give you an itemization of past charges because their financial tracking system is so poor. I wasted 2 hours round trip yesterday to be turned away from my appointment. First their financial person Eileen committed fraud, asking me to sign a paper for a different tooth treatment, lying saying it was for today's treatment, when actually she was getting a signature she forgot to get from me last month. I would not have had an issue at all signing truthfully, but the signature was obtained under false pretenses. They have a policy of turning you away if you have a balance, even if the balance is at issue. I didn't know the financial person I was working with had left 4 weeks prior, immediately following our last conversation with actions pending. I was accused of lying by Eileen. When I explained I was working on a balance question with the former finance person, her response was, "no, she hasn't worked here for a long time." If you do not like being treated like a criminal, find another scrupulous dentist. It saddens me that our otherwise good relationship has to end this way. Though it pains me to write this, I feel the need to share to protect other innocent people. read more

Stay away! Dentists applied procedures on my kids without notifying me about the potential costs. Turns out our insurance won't cover them at all, and we have to pay couple hundred dollars for simple visits. The bill also has so many mysterious procedures which is hard to explain. For the record, I'm from SoCal, and have only been in the bay area for 10 years now, 8 when this review was written, so it's highly unlikely that my family would drive 7.5 hours up here to go to a dentist that I've never heard of. My sister was going to another dentist for a while who told her she needed thousands of dollars of root canals and crowns. She went to CDG for a second opinion and was told she needed about half the work the other dentist tried to sell her. She had the work done at CDG and was very satisfied. I have always been very satisfied with Dr. Gary and recommend him to everyone I know who is looking for a dentist. I have been to many other dentists across the country and only found one other who came close to the standard set by CDG (but he was in North Carolina). People with other dentists have complained to me about being pressured to get unnecessary (and expensive) cosmetic dentistry but there is none of that upsell annoyance at CDG, although they will talk to you about it if you ask.
