Let me start off with the staff. The staff is so very friendly and accommodating to your schedule. They send reminder texts and emails and they give you a reminder card so you can make 100% sure the appointment you make works with your schedule. They also make sure along the way that you are comfortable (as you can be) during your appointment. You are the at the dentist after all. The experience of the cleaning was unexpected. They took these insanely detailed xrays and they refer to those for notes during the cleaning process. They also have a tv directly above you so you can watch TV and stay distracted while they do their work and you can look at your x-rays with them when needed. The cleaning was easy, thorough, and relatively painless. My teeth felt soooo clean afterward. They also recommended a mouth guard for me and told me exactly what was to be expected financially and time-wise. I feel as though I am in the right hands for future care. I'm 100% sure I picked the right dentist. They even sent me a thank you card after my visit. Nice touch :)

She used the old traditional type of film X-rays and told me that I needed a root canal before clearance could be given. After I got the root canal, Dr. Earl processed the dental clearance and was eager to install a crown, but I was further diagnosed by another dentist and oral surgeon using panoramic X-rays that I had a bone spur in my left gum causing a great deal of tongue irritation, a large cyst surrounding a wisdom tooth in my right jaw, and the tooth that just got the root canal needed to be extracted. These additional items needed to be addressed before dental clearance could be given and were completely missed by Dr. Earl. I repeat, completely missed by Dr Earl. After several trips to the new dentist, oral surgeon, University Hospital and Southwest Medical Center, all items were properly addressed and accurate dental clearance was properly granted. I got my first bone strengthening infusion last week. I won't go into detail about My son getting a serious infection from a root canal performed in their office. They resolved the issue on their part by saying that he needed to go to the E.R. A trip to a reputable oral surgeon treated my son and ended the issue by the doctor sending a letter of reprimand to their office. I won't go into detail about convincing my dementia burdened wife she needed a new denture; she could have been convinced to buy the Brooklyn Bridge. She never lived to pick it up. I won't go into detail about having to return three times over a two week period for them to totally extract a molar, not even counting the number of X-rays they took which was needed to convince them pieces still remained. As a result of all the above, I have switched dentists and would not recommend Dr. Earl for anything but simple cosmetic dentistry.

This was by far my worst experience in any dental/medical office. The dental hygienist and office manager from August 2024 are excluded from this review. Those two were wonderful, attentive, and understanding. My new provider told me today that my filling performed at this Aspen Dental location is retaining liquid and needs to be redone to prevent further damage. I thought, "Yeah, that sounds about right," because I remembered the Aspen Dental dentist literally teaching the dental assistant how to do her job AS THEY WERE PERFORMING THE FILLING. Apparently, the assistant was fresh out of school and I was lucky patient #1. The horrors did not stop there. The doctor recommended I try Invisalign despite having perfectly straight teeth my entire life. He asked me if I needed an electric toothbrush. I said no but was considering getting a new one in the future. My response somehow translated as, "Yeah, sure! Stick this $200 electric toothbrush on her bill without her knowledge!" I only found out that I had purchased the toothbrush at my follow-up appointment the next week when they handed it to me. That's not even the worst of it. I called them after I started having a reaction to some fluoride gel they prescribed me for my gingivitis. I told the receptionist that I was getting canker sores, and she straight up told me to keep using it. That the gel would actually help! Me, not knowing I wasn't speaking to a dental professional, listened to her and was in severe pain for several weeks. The hygienist was horrified when I came in for a check up. I had never been in that much pain in my life. Please do not go here. The sales tactics are predatory and misleading. The bedside manner is non-existent. If you truly care about your teeth and your health, please seek dental care elsewhere.

I debated for a while writing a review but after going twice now to Tate Dental nearby which is a…read morereputable dentist practice and seeing it happened to others I would advise you to be very careful if you go here. Dr. Sohn seemed okay but the dental hygienist scraped my gums so hard I was not bleeding a little but a LOT and then she aggressively pushed a deep cleaning priced at $900. This was my first visit here after moving back to the area (grew up here, 10 years in Austin, back to DFW for a few months) mind you I have never missed a cleaning in about 20 years. I get a routine cleaning every 6 months and have never had anyone do what this hygienist did. I wanted to be open minded plus I had already paid the upfront 1 year package so I came back 6 months later after she scolded me about not doing the deep cleaning and said well if you want you can just see back in 6 months how flossing and brushing goes (yeah I think I will do that). Then at the next cleaning magically my teeth were fine b/c I requested a different hygienist. Also wow no bleeding. I switched to Tate Dental in 2024. Routine cleaning in Feb & Oct 2024 - both visits got a clean bill of health and no bleeding from the hygienist. I told no one of my experience at the new dentist to see. I asked the dentist and hygienist if they would recommend a deep cleaning and they both said my teeth are perfect health and it wouldn't be necessary showing me photos, etc and explaining what would be the reason for a deep cleaning. I did let Dr. Sohn's office know of my experience when it occurred in 2023 and they did nothing. So all that to say, buyer beware. No clue if the reviews are real or not but my experience at Sohn was awful and I only went there b/c of the good reviews. Also Tate is better priced too! I called in advance and asked for pricing after the awful experience at Sohn. I have moved a lot in my life and of the 5 dentists I have seen no one has EVER scratched the crap out of my gums like that and then acted like it was not their fault. I was shocked and now I wish I would have just stood up and left. I realize now how bad it actually was and I was just being a pushover.

I had two crowns removed due to one being cracked and one having a cavity underneath. The dentist…read morehurt me bad. I left with more pain than when I went. I have a hole under my tongue that hurt so bad I could not eat. I went back the next day and he said it was caused by a bur from his tool. No apology, just said I don't need antibiotics. It's been two weeks and the sore is almost gone. Just waiting for my permanent crowns to come in. Scared to go back. Hope he doesn't hurt me again.
