I was told that insurance would be verified and that they would submit everything for a coverage estimate prior to treatment. After my exam and X-rays, I was informed that I had periodontal disease and would need scaling and root planing. I was also told I had approximately nine cavities and was strongly encouraged to proceed with laser treatment that was not covered by insurance. At no point did I feel I was given clear, conservative options or a breakdown of urgency versus elective procedures. The initial visit resulted in a $200 charge, and I was quoted approximately $800 for the recommended deep cleaning. Because the diagnosis felt significant, I sought a second opinion as I've never had periodontal issues and receive regular cleanings (I worked in the dental industry for years). At another dental office, I was told that I do not have periodontal disease and do not need scaling and root planning cleanings. Their review of my X-rays showed no signs supporting that diagnosis, aside from two isolated pockets near areas where my wisdom teeth had previously been extracted. Then was informed I have two areas on my molars that needed very small fillings on the occlusal areas. They were shocked my Mason Dentals treatment plan! Based on this second opinion, I'm concerned about the difference in diagnoses and the treatment plan I was given. I would recommend getting a second opinion before proceeding with Mason Dental.

During a filling, Dr. Beiderman made a whole speech about how she doesn't charge for pulp caps if insurance doesn't cover them because you can't do a filling without them, low and behold, I had a separate charge that I got to pay out-of-pocket for a pulp cap after my filling. When I specifically called and spoke with billing day, acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and confirmed that they definitely did charge for that. Most of my appointments there took HOURS, presumably because she was seeing other people. Similar appointments with other dentist have taken less than an hour. When it came time for the crown, they put one on that completely did not fit and had me leave their office, unable to even close my mouth without completely biting my cheek. I could not chew regularly or talk normal and I kept being told that it was just "swelling". After a lot of wasted, childcare and pain and frustration, I tried a new dentist. Thousands of dollars and many days of needing childcare later, my tooth that Dr. Beiderman's office did incorrectly is finally fixed. The office is still hounding me for a bill for a crown they did completely incorrectly despite the fact I ended up paying Another dentist to have to redo everything, which insurance didn't cover at all because it had not been five years. Don't go here, if you need anything, besides a basic cleaning, you will regret it, but I'd be willing to bet they gouge you even for that.

Was told that they took it and I would only have to pay $50 deposit which would be deducted from my co-pay or refunded if no copay. In same phone call, I informed them I only needed a cleaning and nothing else since I had just had all x-rays done 6 months before at previous dentist and would have records sent to them. So i paid the deposit, had my old dentist forward my records, and spent over an hour completing all the on-line forms for their office. When I showed up to appointment, they presented me with this HUGE bill to pay before they do anything. When I reminded them about the insurance verification and filing, I was told they did not know how much would be refunded to me by insurance so I would have to pay and then wait to see. Since I felt lied to, I cancelled the appointment for which they charged me $150!

The office was nice and super clean with medical grade air purifiers. My dental hygienist (Kristy) was so sweet and it was the first time my mouth wasn't sore after a cleaning. I've already called my family for them to book their next appointments. The office had pictures of the Loretto Chapel and the stairs that were built. It was a cute detail!

They are all so sweet and welcoming. Dr. Mackey is well experienced and is great at explaining things. For nearly all of my visits. I have had Lindsey clean my teeth who was super sweet and gentle. My last visit I had Amanda who was welcoming and super thorough! It was slightly uncomfortable, but i appreciate her thoroughness. For cleaning flavors. I recommend the birthday cake! During the visit, there's a small waiting room with a tv and keurig. In the cleaning rooms, there's a tv on the wall and ceiling to make time go by. At the end, you get a goody bag with a new toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste.
