Honestly, a quick phone call or text canceling my appointment would have been far more respectful than having me drive there, sit waiting with no communication, and then drive back home without being seen. Ciera gets the service done fast and leaves no trace behind. I really appreciate that from a wax center. I had a horrible experience years ago at another salon (Not European Wax Center) and the lady that did my wax took over an hour, not to mention she was getting some kind of weird kick out of me being in pain. I'm so grateful for the wax specialists here at European Wax Center, notably Ciera for always taking my appointments and getting me in and out quick. The ladies at the front desk are always very kind and get me checked out quickly. Always rebook for the next appointment. A day or two before my appointment they send me a text asking to confirm, which honestly has been really helpful considering there are times I don't know what my body is going to do and if I'll be able to get a wax done. Apparently her armpit hair was not long enough to be waxed, and my sister was very upset. Her specialist didn't make her feel welcomed at all. I end up waiting 25 minutes past my appointment time to be seen (and was only seen because I asked for anyone available). I ended up asking the receptionist if I could go to anybody else if somebody was available, especially since it sounded like I was not going to be seen for a while. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because Ashlie was phenomenal. She was so friendly and inviting, walked me through every step of the process, and was just overall phenomenal. There were apparently two staff available the entire time I was waiting for my appointment slot. I did not book with a specific stylist in mind, but waiting 25 minutes past my appointment time was ridiculous. Especially because the person who was going before me was not taken until my appointment slot.

Extremely frustrating experience with Thread Bar's Washington Square location and their handling of…read moreClassPass. I went in person to schedule a lash lift and tint and specifically told the employee I wanted to use my ClassPass credits. When I asked how to book it through ClassPass, she told me, "Don't worry about it. You don't need to book it on there since we made the appointment here." On the day of my appointment, only one hour beforehand, I received a call saying they couldn't honor it because the Washington Square location doesn't use ClassPass. Five minutes later, they called back and said they would accommodate me. I again made it very clear that I wanted to use ClassPass and was willing to go to whichever location accepted it. They specifically told me to go to Washington Square. After my service, I was then told I couldn't use ClassPass because I hadn't booked through the app--even though the same employee who performed my service was the person who originally told me I didn't need to. Their explanation was that they're "fairly new on ClassPass and still figuring it out." I understand being new to the platform, but their mistake and repeated misinformation should not cost the customer money. I paid for the service, but I won't be returning and will be reporting the experience to ClassPass. If you're going to participate in ClassPass, your staff should understand how it works and honor what customers are told.
