I've been here a few times at Arigatai Sushi since my last post, and I actually came in again yesterday. This has been one of my top go-to spots to bring my family, so it was disappointing to have a different experience this time. We ordered a variety of dishes, including some of our usual favorites. I got the spicy edamame, which unfortunately seemed a bit overcooked--the beans were much softer than I prefer. My daughter ordered a chicken dish that ended up being mostly breading with very little chicken inside. I also ordered my usual salmon teriyaki, but this time the sauce tasted overcooked, almost burnt, which made it difficult to enjoy. I even had my daughter and her boyfriend try it to make sure it wasn't just me, and they both agreed. That said, not everything missed. The service was amazing. My daughter liked the miso soup. The Crunchy Joy roll (I believe that's the name) was very good, and the deep-fried pork gyoza was amazing as always. Overall, I was very disappointed since this place has consistently been one of my favorites. I'm hoping this was just an off day and that my next visit is back to the quality I'm used to. Very clean aesthetic inside with neutral tones and green wall. Perfect place to go on a Friday after work. The wakame special salad was super filling for 1 - I couldn't finish it and it kind of could have been a meal. Loved the textures of the salmon chunks, seaweed, crab and crunchy bits. The hamachi roll was HUGE I couldn't only eat half. Idk if it was just this roll but it was easy to fall apart. Wouldn't get that one again. my check for one with wine got up to $60+ which makes mathematical sense for about $20 per item (3 items). Considering the large portions well worth it but I wouldn't recommend ordering a ton of stuff to try because a lot wouldn't taste great leftover. read more

I had such a great experience at Arigatai Sushi. From the moment we walked in, the staff and owner were incredibly kind and welcoming -- you can really tell they care about the experience they're creating. We started with the hamachi, which was beautifully balanced with truffle-ponzu, jalapeño, wakame, cucumber, carrots, masago, and just the right touch of heat. The spicy edamame with chili garlic sauce was addictive and came out hot and perfectly seasoned. For rolls, we ordered the Crunchy Joy (shrimp tempura, chopped crabstick, tempura flakes, topped with avocado, yellow chili sauce, and eel sauce), which had such a satisfying texture and flavor combo, and the spicy hamachi roll, which was fresh, flavorful, and well-executed without being overpowering. One of the surprises of the night was the salmon burger with fries -- genuinely so good. The salmon patty was juicy, the avocado portion was generous, and the dressing tied everything together really nicely. We also tried their ramen, which is new to the menu, and it did not disappoint. The broth was deeply flavorful and comforting, with a soft-boiled egg, edamame, and mushrooms. You can tell a lot of thought went into it. My new favorite sushi spot! 10/10 I'm a huge sushi lover and this place impressed me so much. The green hot tea came in a lovely teapot with enough to have several cups throughout the meal. The spicy garlic edamame was delicious and came with a large quantity for such a good price. We walked in for a Valentine's celebration. They were not super busy and had tables available. A waiter pointed out a table for us. We sat down and waited a long time for someone to assist us. A server assisted another couple who were sitting after us. When a server finally came by she dropped the menu on our dishes. No "Welcome. Have you dined with us before?" I need to start by saying that my previous experiences here have been 5-star and I want to apologize beforehand on the length of this review. Tonight was not a 5- star experience and all due to an employee that provided mediocre service at best and ended being a rude person. The food is amazing! You definitely should try this restaurant. But if you go, make sure Carlos is not your server. We were a party of 9 and he was assigned to only attend to us. At first he was very friendly, but little details started to trigger red flags. We asked for water. Never brought it. So we asked a second time and after seeing him just standing looking around the restaurant talking to the staff, still nothing. Eventually he remembered and brought us water. We also wanted some spicy mayo and same thing, just standing around not doing much and not bringing spicy mayo. He would take so long before coming to check on us and his service was just not engaging and disconnected. My wife ordered pork bau buns and he brought chicken. After waiting a while when he decided to come over, my wife tells him that she ordered pork and got the chicken. His response was "but this one is also tasty" and no attempt to amend the error or even bring the right item we ordered. When I asked for the check. I noticed that the gratuity was automatically included at 20%. We all thought that the service he provided didn't deserve a 20% so I asked him if we can change the gratuity. He asked if it was to add to it and I said "no, to bring it down a bit" and he said no because it was policy that for groups of 8 or more 20% is automatically included. My thoughts were that if you come on group or 8+ the. The service is going to be terrible because they will get 20% whether they do good or not. I couldn't hold it any more so I had to share the feedback with the Adriana (owner). While I'm giving her the feedback, Carlos came over right at the part we were saying that the quality of service didn't deserve a 20% gratuity. Then Carlos got passive aggressive and told us in a noticeable annoyed and sarcastic tone, "well if you don't think I deserved it, I'll remove it!". This was right in front of Adriana. I honestly felt bad for her because she now has to deal with an employee that aside from providing mediocre service is now being rude in front of her and patrons. Adriana was extremely apologetic and we really did appreciate how she handled the feedback and overall situation while being on the floor of the restaurant. We made it a point that Carlos's behavior was unprofessional, inappropriate, and unacceptable. We wanted to pay gratuity because we didn't want for the rest of the staff empty handed, but Adriana insisted to not pay for the gratuity. This was an experience with great tasking food that ended on a sour note. I will come back eventually and hopefully change the rating back the usual 5 stars. And hope Carlos realizes what he did poorly and has a chance to improve or find a job with a better fit for him. read more

Got into town last night and wife and I wanted something light for dinner. We picked arigatai and we werent disappointed. The staff were super friendly and helpful with suggestions as to what to try. The feel of the place is very casual and vibrant with a clean aesthetic. My wife and I split the sushi crackers app (I really enjoyed this one) with salmon, this was prob my favorite bite with texture of the crunchy rice. We then had their signature wakame salad which reminded me of an amplified kani salad. The two rolls we had were super fresh and delicious as well. Located in the strip mall where LA fitness looms above it. The small little Japanese restaurant is nicely appointed modern and has a very minimalist vibe to it. I've sat inside and I've sat outside and both have great service inside. It's a bit cold outside it's a bit full of traffic. I always get the same thing the Poké bowl and I just love it so I stick to it. I can't recommend this place enough. It's great located to come with your friends right down the street. We actually walk here from our apartment, and I usually come here with to my friends and have a nice chat. There are seven additional rolls to choose from the price for the meal is really good. I thought the miso soup needed more salt and more textured seaweed. It almost seemed like it was spinach and seaweed combined so that consistency could've been better. The hamachi tiradito with truffle was really good and had a little spicy kick so get ready for it (it's not overwhelming). The pork dumplings were good steamed but probably would've been better fried. The ambiance was nice with the Olympics playing on mute. There was a guest who was on the phone and speaking so loudly with her guest but no staff said anything to redirect her. Other than that, it was a good experience. It's not often you see tiradito or tres leches on a Japanese sushi menu, so we just had to ask. This is a Venezuelan incarnation with a lot of different items on the menu. We'd been in south Dade and did not relish the thought of hitting I-95 in traffic. We wound up meeting a girlfriend of mine in north Miami and turned to our trusty Yelp app for nearby restaurants. The area was familiar to my friend. She'd been to the Anthony's Coal Fired pizza at the other end of the building. This place used to be a burger joint. And although they've been open a couple years had opened just before COVID so they'd been closed for a bit in between. My friend and I both had their miso soup. A larger bowl than usual portion with lots of tofu and seaweed in it. And it was served piping hot. The table shared some steamed gyoza -- which were good but standard; and some excellent Brussel Sprouts. The roasted sprouts were mixed with a kimchi guava sauce and topped with thin bonito flakes. My husband also had their signature fuego roll. Wrapped in foil, sake was poured around the edges, then lit on fire! (Fuego means fire btw). When the fired died down, the foil was opened so the shrimp tempura roll could be eaten. In addition to the shrimp, there was smoked tuna, krab, and salmon. On top of this all was a spicy mayonnaise/eel sauce. This was a favorite of the night. I had one of their no-rice cucumber rolls. It was made oh so professionally and tightly. The thin cucumber was wrapped around krab and cream cheese. I had them put the sweet sauce that comes with it on the side. We had very good service. As they were not busy, the kitchen was a bit fast in readying our dishes. We were still enjoying soup when they brought out the other dishes. But that's a very minor quibble. We skipped dessert, but in addition to the aforementioned tres leches, they have a few other sweet endings. The only one that sounded Asian was the mochi ice cream. I could very much see coming here again -- when in the mood for a unique version of your usual Japanese meal. read more

I hope this restaurant stays open for a very long time, not only is their food delicious but the service is excellent. Any time I have eaten there or taken the food to go the staff always makes me feel welcome and happy to be there. Everyone is very hospitable and helpful. Such a cute hidden restaurant in North Miami. There is plenty is seating although it's a small restaurant. To start I got the spicy edamame and the portion was so big I had to take the rest home. I wanted to try something different so i got the sweet plantain roll, my friend got the bay roll and then the volcano roll to share. I enjoyed the sweet plantain roll a lot. The plantain was nice and juicy and complimented the shrimp well. The volcano roll wasn't terrible BUT it had way too much cream cheese. I definitely will be coming back here more often. read more
