Great Korean grocery store located in Bethel Plaza! We swung by on a Saturday evening for ingredients to create Korean Fried Chicken (thanks Diana V and Manuela V for preparing the marinade and cooking that delicious dish) and Arirang carried everything we needed. They have an outstanding selection of packaged goods--think sauces, flours, spices, etc in addition to a wide selection of fresh, delicious banchan side dishes. The fish cakes, bean sprouts, and anchovies we purchased were all delicious. There's also extensive offering of frozen items and ramen noodles. Pricing was solid and service was friendly. Just a heads up that their produce selection is a bit small/limited, so plan accordingly if those types of items are on your list. We didn't try the restaurant in the back of the store this time, but the menu looked delicious. Heads up that the restaurant is currently closed every Wednesday and Thursday, though the grocery is open 10am - 9pm on every day except for Sunday (when they're open 10am - 8pm). Love this small little grocery store! I usually come here if I need some ingredients for a Korean dish. The cashier/front desk guy has always been kind to me and my friends whenever we come in. They have a small variety of everything, but don't expect to get a whole stocked store with lots of options, especially produce. They have lots of Korean snacks and frozen items. There's a huge ramen/noodle selection and Asian sauces. This is one of the few places in Columbus that has Soju also. They also have a restaurant in the back of the store that has entrees for under $10 which is a steal to me. The ladies who work in the kitchen are phenomenal. Not a Very huge store, but they do have a good amount of frozen items. Snack selection seemed a bit small, but there's definitely a variety of savory options. I saw a lot of people come in to get soju, likely much cheaper here than at Tensuke LOL I got a hot sauce with chicken flavor, bottled black tea, and a savory ramen snack. My friend got frozen fish and a few other items. They also serve cooked food here that you can buy. Bon chan is in refrigerated sort of near that area. Would love to try the food next time! I really enjoy Arirang. Whenever I need to stock up on Korean food items, I stop by here and spend at least $100! They have everything and I literally get everything! A typical haul for me looks like this: a 40 lb bag of rice, frozen rice cakes, spicy cold noodles, spicy rice cakes, Samyang noodles, pickled yellow radish, kimchi, yogurt juice, yellow curry, and shrimp fries. Whenever I need soy sauce, sesame oil, or gochujang, I pick that up here too. The selection is fairly okay. I first noticed a bad smell upon walking in. It was coming from the cafe in the back. They have very fresh fish here. At the cafe counter you can place an order. They have lots of classic Korean items. It has pictures on the wall so you don't have to attempt to pronounce them. There's also a case with premade items. I thought Arirang is a nice store for looking through. It's got some hard to find items. The selection wasn't as good as other Asian stores but they have the basic stuff. read more

I am skeptical to write a review mostly because I don't want people to know about this gem of a market but they're so deserving of being noticed. Columbus isn't like other cities with a huge Asian community, so there isn't an H Mart here, but Arirang does the damn thing. You can get all your Korean snacks, frozen dumplings, rice, and instant noodles here. But the best part is the back of this market, which serves Korean food! There are three refrigerators with different kinds of bonchon (korean sides), you can get kim chi, fish cakes, bean sprouts and radishes! And in the back, you can get marinaded cuts of meat! I order the short ribs and the bulgogi. Then I pick up all my fav bon chon and have korean bbq with rice at home. read more

One of my favorite places to get good and affordable Korean food! Once you enter the grocery store, there's a big menu on the window for you to order and then you go to the register to pay. You take a slip back to the food court and only wait about 5-7 minutes for your food to be ready. I got the budae jjigae and if you love spicy, this is your meal. We had bulgogi, short rib soup, spicy pork stir-fry, and a slightly spicy chicken dish I can't remember the name of. All were great (well, the short rib soup was judged least great, but it was still good.) You can buy drinks from a cooler up front (almost nothing "American" in there; we got rice milk and plum juice, which were both great.) As others said, they only give you a few banchan dishes, which disappointed me a bit, but the ones we had were good. Been here several times. It's very authentic. Every time I walk into the store it makes me feel like I was in the "Reply 1988." The whole setting, the dining area...everything is so Korean. Great food with low price. The only disadvantage is that you must remember what you've ordered because when the food is ready you have to take it yourself and that creates a lot of issues----when we were there the first time, we took others food and they took ours. The ladies in the kitchen had to came out to identify everything. It would be much better if they can do the order number or by names. My girlfriend loves their bibimbap, I love the seafood noodles. There is a little restaurant in the back of the store! A hidden gem for sure. I was just visiting the Ohio area for the weekend and found this Korean spot. It does not have a full menu like a typical Korean restaurant but there is a good selection of delicious foods. You order the food at the front register and pay there. There is a display of pictures with the descriptions written in English so you don't have to worry if you don't speak Korean. :) You bring your little ticket to the back counter where they make the food. Two super cute ladies were cookin the food and it made me feel like I was at home hangin with my mom and grandma... Food comes with a few banchan (side dishes), I got the Bibimbap- traditional Korean dish with rice, veggies and meat, if youve never had Korean its pretty good! I'm not so sure about the grocery selection here, particularly compared to other Asian markets around here, but the food "court" in the back is awesome if you're looking for a casual eating environment. It's not a full restaurant by any means, but the food is still restaurant quality and has a nice home-style feel. The prices justify why you would come here, since everything is around 30% cheaper than the equivalent at places with full dedicated service. I tried two different items, and both were equally tasty with a decent banchan selection. Together they came out to less than $20 and honestly one would totally have been enough. Bibimbap had lots of different vegetables and ground meat, and mixing everything together with the egg made every spoonful delightful. The spicy beef soup came with a lot of meat, and the stew was definitely very spicy, but in a hearty way. Afterward you feel warm and nice inside, all without breaking the bank. read more

Read reviews from fellow Yelpers and decided to give Arirang a try. Overall, good food, good price. You order up front at the register (this place is a grocery store with a "food court" in the back). The menu is right behind the register and items are broken down by price. Most dishes don't exceed $9. The cashier took my order, took my credit card and gave me the order slip to take to the back kitchen. Everything is self serve... They call out your food and put it on the counter, silverware is in a bin on the table and you get your own water from a cooler (smuggle in pop if you need it bc I couldn't find any inside!) 4 types of banchan and the kimchi was fresh. The bulgogi was a bit more "watery" and greasy than accustomed to and the pork bulgogi was pretty good (just spicy enough). Don't be afraid of the staff... Their English is just fine even if they greet in Korean (nodding and smiling usually works as a response). Got out of there on $23 for two meat dishes and a Korean roll. Recommend! read more

I love coming here, and the owner is really nice. Food is fresh, and there is a restaurant in the back for food as well. They used to have a bigger menu, with soups galore - and it was the best Korean food in town by far! Since then they changed many of the soups to pre-made, and they have it for around $7 in the fridges in the back. Still good, because you can take it home and boil it and add rice, but they used to have the real deal! I wish they just hired some extra people to continue to make that food. I feel like going into the back of this Korean market and finding the express cafe was like going to my friends place where his mom would whip up some good Korean eats. Two women in the kitchen cooking what they know best is what you'll find here. Authentic, reasonable price, and great tasting food. Although most Korean places have a million refillable banchan, this is an express cafe and not a restaurant so they will give you about four side dishes, so don't be too greedy, it is more than enough to make you extremely full. This is also a place where you order in front and give the women the slip in the back. I love it and definitely come back again and again. My favorite so far is the spicy beef soup which is a special for them for 6.99. The soft tofu soup and other soups I've tried are also very delicious.
