On the fence about here. Sometimes it's good to go back to a cracking place but then sometimes it's not. This is the "not" situation. Might have given it a 4 before. First time I had all the meats where they cook it in front of you and it was good but the girls were worried about smelly clothes afterwards, so we all just had our own meals. BIG mistake, huge! I can't pronounce the meat I had but it was beef in a slightly sweet soy sauce. It could have done with a bit more sauce but drowned it in soy so it was grand then. Nice introduction to Korean food here. We obviously looked a little startled while reading the menu so the lovely waitress approached us with some advice on what to order. She immediately steered us to the bibimbap, advising us that this was an authentic Korean dish and we couldn't go wrong. When asked for further recommendations, she seemed to get quite shy so we decided to do her a favor and order two bowls. There were preceded by some dumplings which were a little disappointing. Quite bland containing a mystery shredded meat. The bibimbap was really good however. It arrived to the table with sizzling aplomb, a fresh egg plonked on top. The clay bowl keep the rice cooking throughout and the side of kimchi and seaweed really lifted the dish. The bill came to less than 30 quid for two with beers which is great value by anyone's standards. Will be back to test out the Korean BBQ next. read more

My Husband and I stopped in for dinner because this was across the street from our Air B&B. We were pleasantly surprised by the great food and appetizers. The spring rolls were the best I had had and the noodles were incredible. I am not an adventurous eater so that was awesome! My husband had a HUGE portion of high quality seafood for a great price. Hands down the best Korean we've ever had! The greatest thing was that we left the restaurant with my husband forgetting a great cap he got as a memento of our trip. We left Ireland and I realized I forgot it, but e-mailed them about it. The awesome staff mailed the cap back to me which was above and beyond as far as service goes. Excellent Korean tucked away on Capel St. Staff are super friendly and make this an experience. Very flavourful food - we had the BiBimBap and a Korean Box Meal which was super tasty. Prices here can't be beat either - really cheap! Highly recommend this fun night out. read more

The location was clean and the staff were pretty helpful as well. Not as many banchan as I expected, and one of the waitresses,when asked, said the seaweed salad didn't include cucumbers (which it did), which my friend is allergic to. If you've tried KBBQ in LA, this is very sparse and they don't give you a lot of anything (it came with a small salad, some Romano leaves, seaweed salad and some kimchi. You can ask for sesame oil with salt and pepper) to make ssam with, but overall it was an ok KBBQ with a pretty generous serving of meat. read more

As I was told, that is the hot spot for Korean food in Dublin for sure. Everything I tried was delicious. Initially, I wasn't sure on what to order. I was curious about the Korean BBQ, which I have never tried. As soon as we got inside the place I saw some guys at the table beside us having the Korean BBQ and was like: I want it. I ordered the Pork Ribs BBQ. They cooked it in front of you, in small embedded grill they have on the tables. No smoke at all: they have those big tubes to suck it. The BBQ was WOW, incredible. It comes with side of kimchi, lettuce and some kind of very spiced namul. I was also told that there is appropriate way to eat this BBQ. You should make a small wrap using the lettuce. I tried it. But my skills were limited haha and I just made a mess because of the sauce...! Well, in the end I ordered extra boiled rice and I just enjoyed my meal. My partner had the Spicy Chicken Dup Bap. It looked beautiful, but apparently it was spiced enough, between super hot and OMG my tongue is gone. The conclusion was that the Spicy Chicken Dup Bap was the spicy paradise. They have a limited choice of drinks and we just ordered sodas. No desserts available. The decoration of the places is really cool and it feels like you are in Korea for real, so I believe. One of my favourites in Dublin and further proof that you just can't go wrong with Korean food. The first thing you'll probably notice when you enter is that the tables are covered in some sort of metal contraption. "What is this?", I hear you say, "Do I use it to heat up my food?" you ask, "Is it some sort of Korean custom I'm unaware of?"...Well, it's a grill, so you're partly right. When you order one of the barbeque options on the menu the meat is placed into the centre of your table and you cook it yourself (or get the pleasant wait staff to help, if you're as inept as I am). The bulgogi is incredible and they probably have the best kimchi around in my opinion, it's nice and spicy. I've been here numerous times over the past year or so and I just keep coming back. It's tough to pick a place to eat on Capel Street with such high quality Asian food all along it but you owe it to yourself to try this one out at least once. read more

Yes, the decor is really ugly, but if you are interested in genuine good food and traditional fare, you MUST try this place. Portions are amazing, order reasonably, you will have too much. This place is great! Other than being a little pricey (8.90 for bibimbap), I loved Arisu. I got the tofu bibimbap (request it instead of the meat) and it came with TONS of veggies, and the characteristic rice and egg. The spicy gochujang on the side is amazing when mixed with the crunchy, hot rice and egg. Plus, they bring out delicious miso soup, seaweed, and delicious kimchi before the meal. Fist experience in a Korean restaurant and probably not last but won't return soon. We ordered 2 mains: a soup and noodles. Soup quite good with lots of meet. Strong taste at fist but got used to it. Seafood noodles not so good very spicy and poor quality of fish. The best part of this dinner was the barbecue dish you could choose and cook your meat. I am writing this review based off of the korean bbq lunch buffet. My experience overall was mediocre at best. First off, some of their sushi had American cheese in it. Weird. Second of all, the rice did not come with the lunch buffet and we had to pay 4 euros for 2 bowls of rice. They did not have any garlic to eat with the bbq meats. What korean bbq restaurant does not have garlic to pair with the meats? And the only banchan they had was a seaweed and cucumber salad. My last complaint is that the dumplings that were part of the lunch buffet were basically inedible and we're soggy and filled with a hard dark brown ground meat. The marinated pork ribs and beef bulgogi were delicious so I'm giving this place 2 stars. Our total bill was 64 euros for 2 people and we were overall not satisfied. read more

Underwhelming dining experience. The extractor fan which does not extract any smoke is an unnecessary obstruction between you and your dinner partner, added to the constant minding of the waitress doing the barbecue makes for the most intrusive dining experience ever. Waitress used same tongs on cooked and raw meats despite concern of cross contamination. Left feeling underwhelmed and our good jackets smelling like a burger van. read more

when you wanted to try korean bbq this is the place that you should try they usually have set orders like good for two people or 3-4. at our first try of the bbq's it was my birthday we ordered the good for two people bbq since they got loads of different meats on it already so thinking that would be enough already. atfirst i got scared on the way how they cook it infront of you because of some videos in the internet same thing and the costumers got burned from the waitress mistake. But been there a couple of times already and ill assure you its safe and the waitress are very good on it. we usually order rice on our barbecues but to tell you better eat the vegetables that comes in the barbecues rather than rice it saves money and its more healthier haha. we've been to arisu a couple of times already and there service is nice the staffs are really good and the owner is really nice. But we dont usually order the set menu now since its a lot for a two person, we usually ended up leaving some meats which is not nice, now we usually order the beef bulgogi and pork belly for barbecue. its amazing the taste is superb! .. i recommend also that youll try there korean wines which is so nice and strong good for this kind of weather we have now. read more

Was looking forward to try the place after reading the reviews. First I was really glad that they offered reservations via yelp.. if i already research via yelp which place to go to it is really convenient if it allows me to make a reservation directly from within the app. Don't know why more restaurants aren't offering this. But to be fair, i don't think reservation is necessary if you are just 2. food was great! We had some sushi rolls and then a bbq set to share. So.much.meat!!! Sushi tasted great and the roles were massive. The bbq was really great too and I liked that they prepared it in front of you. I mean, it is nice because it is something different to your everyday dinner experience. Service was speedy and friendly. We paid 60 for 2 beers,sushi roll and bbq set to share. I am not giving 5 stars because I think something could have been better - although not quite sure what.. maybe the atmosphere was a bit weird? I might be back if I ever manage to digest the massive amount of meat... but definitely recommend it if you are looking for something different next time you eat out read more

Lovely Experience with the Korean BBQ. The only thing offputting is the long copper vent that blocks out your guest when seated at a table for two. The spicy beef was superb. THe side dishes were just loely! I especially love the kimchi. Fresh lettuce accompanies everything. Order rice with your meal, it really counteracts the spice. Can't wait to go again! read more

I went to Arisu to try the Korean BBQ as I'm a big fan of it. First of all, I realized the tables are really close to each other, so every time a table finished their meal they have to squeeze themselves between the chairs to get out. The food arrived and it was a variety of side dishes with it, that was good. However, the waitress was all the time cooking the food for us which was kind of uncomfortable, especially after asking twice to leave us on our own cooking the food. She was kind of rude and rushing us, saying the meat was ready when it was barely medium-rare (isn't it the point of this BBQ to cook the food to your own taste by yourself?), although it was hard to see in the dim light, not really appropriate to a place where you're eating. Apart from that, waitress spill half a bottle of beer on me (just an accident) and when checking out the bill, surprise they don't accept card. You need to bring cash in advanced (they don't say anything at the door or any sign in the restaurant), making me looking around and not wonder why everything look like unfinished. In a nutshell, the service was poor, the food was ok and the overall experience was not pleasant as in other Korean BBQ I tried in Dublin. Not coming back or recommending to any of my friends. read more

Really wish there was better Korean food than this in Dublin. As a person who travels to Korea multiple times a year, I can't say this authentic or good by any relative means. Sure add "for Dublin" but that doesn't get this food off the hook. The quality of ingredients, to the quality of the meats, could all be increased. While not horrible, I will not be back. They have a buffet option if you want, but I've never once come across a Korean restaurant with this option. They do barbecue and have an all you can eat option for 19€, but I've never tried. If you like Korean food, don't put high expectations on this place. I prefer Drunken Fish over this, and would rather get the cheap Korean food at Han Sung over this place. 2 side dishes during the meal? I will say no more. read more

Harassed to eat raw meat, Mocked by management. Please avoid the place for your own health. A staff member was quite keen on instructing us to eat, as the meat was ready, so she said over and over, the chicken had blood and the meat was only half cooked, she wouldn't stop insisting that the meat is cooked, when clearly there was blood present and a sight of raw meat. You are supposed to enjoy a Korean barbecue in peace cooking your meat and all and not to be rushed by someone very persistent. I finally decided to raise my concerns with the management. The manager pretended not to speak English and not to understand my words, repeating similar sounding words, in a mocking like manner. After few tries to inform her that her staff members were harassing us over and over again to eat the raw food when the place was not even busy and there was no reason in the world to rush, I just had to walk away. The experience was very expensive and very disappointing. If you want a Korean barbecue, avoid this place. read more
