Veggie gyoza

Overpriced and not all that good. Servers were friendly and food came out quickly, but definitely won't be back.

Passion fruit Lemonade

Yamamori, Dublin So I spontaneously went down to Yamamori Izakaya Sake Bar and I rate my experience a 3/5. What we ordered: Passionfruit Lemonade It was pretty nice. A bit sour at times but enjoyable :) Irish Wagyu Gyoza They weren't bad, no wow factor for us but it was a decent starter Chicken Katsu Curry The Katsu Curry was nice. Appearance-wise it looked great and personally, I think it tasted good too. Tonkotsu Ramen The ramen was okay. For me it was a bit bland, but adding salt, pepper and soy sauce definitely helped making it way more enjoyable.

Pretty restaurant and delicious desserts! This restaurant is beautifully decorated and very open and roomy-- a wonderful atmosphere to dine in. The menu has a huge selection of Japanese foods but I settled on the beef on brown rice in a stone pot. It was pretty good for the most part but I requested my beef medium rare and got overly well done meat that was way too tough. The rice is that reddish purplish rice that's super delicious. There was some vegetables in the rice but it didn't have much flavor and I ended up adding teriyaki sauce and a bit of gochujang. I had to eat it all really slowly as the pot was piping hot but no complaints there! The service was very good the whole way through and I had 3 scoops of ice cream for dessert: vanilla, coffee, and green tea. The ice cream was amazing and I would definitely go back just to get ice cream if I had the opportunity. I have no reservations recommending Yamamori to all!

Rainbow roll

Had dinner here the other night. Had the rainbow roll, tempura shrimp, tofu steak, and a strawberry roll (seemed to be a salmon roll topped with strawberry slices and cream cheese). The portions are quite large, the rice used is a healthier purple (?) rice. For dessert, we had the matcha cheesecake, banana toffee tart, and the panna cotta. The food was pretty good.

Poor little leggies

Yum. Delicous food at great prices. I really like sitting in the outside patio out the back as well. It's comfy, shielded from the wind, and they've speakers set up for some nice musical atmos. They have a cover over it as well in case the weather turns unexpectedly inclimate, which we all know isn't highly unlikely in Ireland! I got the spider roll and the prawn tempura and both were really fresh and absolutely delicous. The spider roll is massive by the way - you could nearly share it with someone else if you got another side between you. The staff are really nice as well, and the whole place just has a general good vibe.

A "Wackychino" I used to love their Espresso Martini but they've taken it off the menu, this is a nice twist on that

Let me start off by saying that I love this place. I have been going for years. The food is imaginative and delicious, it is a lovely place for all occasions, and the staff are always friendly. I have however noticed a significant price increase in the last year and I feel that the prices are no longer fair. I have also noticed portion sizes decreasing. I used to adore the Tofu Steak which was taken off the menu, and subsequently redesigned and brought back. The new Tofu Steak is much smaller and no longer comes with a selection of veg and salad. It is now served on a bed of a few pieces of pak choi, and yet the price has risen. I still think they do lovely food but I feel that they are coming across as a bit greedy of late, and nobody likes that.

Salmon and avocado roll is quite large
Kirsten H.

Stopped here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The prices for rolls looked high compared to other restaurants, but when the roll came to the table I could see why. Much larger serving per roll than I usually see in the States. The salmon and avocado roll was very fresh and tasty. The salad with crispy salmon was also very good. Server was friendly and food arrived quickly. Just a little slow to bring the tab after the table was cleared. Maybe she was waiting for me to give a clear indication I had finished my tea? To be fair, I was probably giving mixed signals. Also, I have to agree with Brian. It was easily 25+ degrees in the restaurant. I had just spent the morning walking around at Trinity in cold blustery November weather and I thought it felt like heaven, but any other time I think it might have felt too hot.

I was lucky to find this hidden gem in Dublin last week while on a trip with family . The service was great and our orders came out quickly . It was not a crowded evening . Our table had some cocktails , pornstar martini, hot herbal tea , Sweet potato tempura rolls, Dragon rolls , VegGyoza, Mapo tofu with rice on the side . Everything was delicious!! Must visit spot if you are in the city !

The ambiance of the restaurant felt authentic. From the art to the decor to the serving trays/dishes and utensils. The restaurant has a nice intimate feel like you're having dinner with your family. We were seated quickly and our server was attentive and helpful. We all started off with the sake pornstar martini. It was really good, a bit on the sweeter side. For all appetizers we had the edamame and gyoza. The gyoza included chicken and a nice sauce. It was a nice size portion (~6-7 pieces). Both were really good. For our main dish we had the Kimchi ramen, Maneki yaki soba and the spider roll. The ramen was a nice size portion and was packed with a variety of meats. My friend said the broth was really good and spicy. The Yaki soba was a perfect portion for me. It included roasted chicken, prawns, roasted pork and veggies. It was very flavor and good. It also came with a side of miso soup which was perfect. The spider roll was massive. There were 8 giant pieces and it was tasty! I also snapped photos of our neighbors Teppan salmon teriyaki and beef teriyaki. They said both were amazing. I've seen a few reviews mention the pricing is a bit higher but it was worth it in my opinion. The portions were a bit larger than what I've experienced before, the food was tasty, the drinks were good and service was great. They also do karaoke upstairs and it was actually pretty entertaining listening to them while we ate. There is an automatic 12% gratuity/service fee included but there is a note that you are not required to pay. Definitely keeping this on my list for the next visit.

I wouldn't recommend getting a bowl unless you have a big appetite, and you may not want to order any appetizers (it's that much food in the bowl - gotta love it). I had the tuna Ngiri and it was sooo good. Now I like to order it from my favorite sushi place back home; they left such a great impression. The atmosphere is lovely, clean, and welcoming. Ugh, they make me wish I were in Ireland right now lol. The service was excellent. Aside from making me smile with great humor and politeness, they also want to make sure you enjoy your meal. I just felt like it was all love, where they want to make sure that nothing is wrong. You don't get that everywhere. I also enjoyed the jokes and laughter, which might not be the norm (the politeness is, of course, probably the norm). I was a humorous customer who probably made them equally comfortable, which is incredible. That's why it is always important to be nice to your servers. I genuinely appreciate both my visits there (yes, I went twice; the place was that good and the vibe was that great, lol).

The Hamachi sashimi was surprisingly good for the price, thick cuts with the standard light and savory taste of hamachi, fiber felt fresh and was a bit bouncy, no foul odor or mushy mouthfeel in typical cheap Japanese eateries. KaraAge fried chicken came in small bite-size pieces, freshly fried, juicy, but a bit too bland and the pastry was a bit too thick. Also wish they had used a better sauce than simply shoyu (soy sauce). Overall the food was OK for the price, you get what you paid for.
