We found it last year by accident and now we always make sure to stop whenever we're around. You just order at the counter, the menu's on a board behind it, and they usually have some specials too. You tell them what you want, give your name, and they'll give you a receipt to pay up front. There are about five or six tables if you want to eat there. Everything's made fresh, so it comes out hot. Right now, the breakfast special is $7.99 and you get three eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns or seasoned potatoes, and toast. The people who work there are really nice and friendly.

Once we got over the fact that this joint is located inside a gas station convenience store, we placed our order and stood in line with people paying for their gasoline so we could pay for our food and a couple bottles of water. About 10 minutes later, they called our name; we grabbed our food from the counter and sat down at one of the five tables. We popped open our foam clamshells and dug into fluffy pancakes while "Honkytonk Badonkadonk" blared on the radio. This place is about half the cost of a more traditional restaurant, has half the ambiance, but this was one of the best breakfasts I have eaten in a long time. Definitely recommend it if you are passing through.

If you travel the old Lee Highway and are in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor and stop by Hank's instead of one of the Chain joints (no complaints on the Chain joints, I just prefer to eat "local" when possible). Finding good properly slow smoked brisket, ribs and pulled pork is getting harder and harder to find, or at a decent price. Well, you can stop looking if you're near the area and stop into Bluegrass! First, the brisket is fantastic. Not overly fatty, well smoked, grainy and very tasty. I had it with a dollop of the Bourbon Sauce and Traditional BBQ sauce. Absolutely near perfect. Next up are the Ribs. These dry rubbed smoked baby back cut style are meat falling off the bone delicious. Again, I drizzled just a small bit of Bourbon & Traditional Sauce on them which enhanced a nice sweetness. Next up we tried the Pulled Pork with a bit of vinegar and molasses which was succulent with a great taste through and through. For sides we had the beans, Mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole & hush puppies with butter. As I said, by far the best we have had in over a 100 mile radius. This is authentic slow smoked meats, dry rubbed, not drenched in sugary sauce. You control any flavor of sauce you want at the table with several great selections. The Bourbon and Traditional were my favorites. Because of the rarity finding honest and authentic smoked bbq like this, I wish I could give more than 5 stars, as it's the closest to Texas Slow Cooked you will find in the Southern Virginia / West Virginia area. Lucky for us it's not far, as we will be coming back to enjoy this wonderful family geared place, with amazing service tucked away in sleepy ol' Pembroke VA. And if you doubt any of what I've said, my tray picture below says it all, from a 3 meat combo w/sides, clean as a whistle. It was that good!

The food came out pretty fast. Now the overall meal was quite pricey even for a food truck. Each spring roll was $2 and the rice bowl was 8.99. So I brought it back to my place and was ready to chow down. I started with the spring rolls, and man were they good. I never had Thai spring rolls before so I was a little surprised, but they had noodles in them! Spring rolls I would say 5/5 a must get item. Now for the rice bowl it looked appetizing so I went in for the first bite and noticed I hit celery... It always shocked me when I ate Asian food how some places add celery to something. I am not a big fan of celery in Asian food so I took it out and kept eating. The sauce was spicier then I thought it would be. So I struggled trying to finish. What was amazing though was that green cilantro sauce they had. If I could I would just buy that sauce it is amazing! The tofu was also cooked well. I give the rice bowl probably a 3/5. Overall, I gave the rating of 4 because I just averaged the scores. I say if your going to this food truck, definitely get the spring roll. It is a little pricey, but out of the two items I thought the spring roll was far superior. I'll definitely come back to try their spicy pork rice bowl and the panang curry.

They rotate their location throughout the New River Valley area, from Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford. They post their menu items and schedule on their website. The menu items posted on their website is their entire menu, however, they select a few items off that list to sell for that day. Food came out relatively quickly and the workers were friendly and helpful. They do accept credit/debit cards which is convenient. I visited the food truck when they were parked at the Auto Spa in Blacksburg, which has plenty of parking around the area.
