Have to love a hometown cafe that gets the coffee and the biscuits done right! The location is small, friendly and old fashion. I had the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits ... great value at two for under $7. I had to break off a piece of the biscuit first to see what I was in for .. soft inside, good texture outside, butter flavor with a hint of salt. Yep .. this breakfast was not going to disappoint. I have to add that the bacon was thick and cooked perfectly as the fat was crispy and flavorful but not burnt. The coffee was strong and not bitter. The service was friendly and fast. We were staying in Radford at a local B&B and they recommended walking to this place for breakfast. When we saw it we were worried. The outside windows look like a car that got decorated by seniors going to the state finals.... But we went in anyway. The inside is very homey..... I was greeted by the owner Samantha (although I didn't know it at the time). The inside doesn't have many tables but we felt very spacious and had plenty of room. Lots of wood and sparse decorations.... The waitress came immediately, started us with hot coffee that never stopped coming. We ordered the "rise and shine", "biscuits and gravy" and " chicken and waffles". The service was lighting fast! The food came out very quickly and it was apparent that everything was scratch made. The eggs, bacon were very good as expected, the biscuits and pancakes were fluffy and flavorful, the gravy was super tasty too. What was very surprising was the chicken and waffles!! Very very good! Chicken was crispy but tender, and the waffles were moist on the inside and crusty on the outside with syrup. All really good! We went again the next day and had the veggie soup and salad. The soup was made from scratch too! Super tasty! Altogether I was impressed by Samantha's place. Don't be fooled by the exterior. This is the place to be!! Food is great!!!! Yikes. Went in Friday at 9:30 for breakfast. Out of orange juice, biscuits, and bacon. Ordered three eggs, sausage, fruit, and potatoes. Eggs were so undercooked there was a pool of liquid on the plate that was stomach turning. Sent those back and they made new ones. Two were ok, third was a runny mess again. Sausages were frozen links deep fried until they were hard as bricks. Fruit was mostly an orange sliced with the skin left on?? Potatoes were good. I went there over Waffle House to patronize a small business, but WH would have been better. read more

My friend and I stopped in around 9am after being in town for a doctor's appointment. Searching for something different and locally owned. Neither one of us wanted breakfast so the full menu was a hit! We had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, and jalapeño burger. We both got the fried potatoes, which were so good! The chicken and burger both were exceptional, and they were full of flavor and juicy. Our server was absolutely wonderful, he was such a people person, full of personality. This place is adorable. The food and staff were great. I look forward to going there again when I am in town.

So I was visiting my daughter at Redford university for parents weekend. Prior to coming down I ask her to pick a place to have brunch. There are not to many places to go in Redford but she found this place. This is a family owned business and a hole in the wall. Now it's been around for about 5 years but i don't know why my daughter didn't pick up on this place. She ask some of her sorority sisters where to go and this was the place. Now it's and mother and son running this place along with a couple of other people. Not a big place from the inside but again it's a hole in the wall. Now for most of us a hole in the wall restaurant have special things going on that nobody knows about. What that is is the food. We went to have brunch and wasn't disappointed. A very low key place to sit and have a good conversation and good food. Remember if you are in a hurry then I would say it's not going to happen but it's a place were you can relax and the food comes in time. Not a long time but it's a relaxed place. The servers will always let you know what is going on and when your food is coming. They also check in on you to see if everything is ok. Great customer service. For the food I had the BLT with fries. I like everything except the cherry tomatoes on it. They keep falling out. As for the sandwich overall it was good. The bread was great but those little cherry tomatoes need to be exchanged for the original tomato slices and it would be great. Overall real good. After the brunch we would came back the next day to try their breakfast. Now to mention that this place closes at 2pm each day so you want to get their early because sometimes the place gets backed up and they have to stop accepting guest until they catch up. That's how good the food is. So the next day we venture back for breakfast. I had hard fried eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, hash browns and bacon while my daughter had pancakes bacon. The breakfast was like home cook from your grandma. The biscuits and sausage gravy was to die for. Reminds me of my younger days. Bacon was crips and tasted like home made but it could be store bought. Either way it tastes old fashion. As for my daughter's pancakes, big! She couldn't finish and took them back to her apt for later. The overall experience was great. Nice home town cooking with friendly and happy people around. They work hard and treat the customer with respect and kindness. For me I will take the time and visit this place when I'm in Redford and I think you should give it a try. As always this is my opinion and each one of us are different in the way we see and taste things but for sure I would give this place a try. So Stay safe and happy travels. read more

Grilled Cheese Panini- I asked for tomatoes and lettuce to be added, sided with fruit and a pickle- got a draft beer to drink with it. My husband got a coffee. It wasn't busy just us and another table- service was friendly and quick. Panini was fresh and delicious. Husband said the coffee was great, plus the lady asked if he would like a refill before we left which he did ;). New owner has definitely made some really nice upgrades to the interior and has some live music and charity events on the schedule. We definitely plan on stopping in next time we are in Radford. We tried Pazar tonight and it wasn't bad. It has changed hands a lot so I think people are confused about what they have and when they're open. They have a mix of sandwiches, burgers, paninis, coffee and smoothies. They have breakfast too but don't open until 11 on the weekends. This place has a lot of potential. Make sure to ask for the specials because there were multiple soups and a baked pasta not on the menu that were specials. We had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and the mushroom Swiss burger which weren't bad. Each was about $12, the sandwiches and paninis were cheaper. I plan on going back for coffee and breakfast and I hope the place can get some advertising out and work out the quirks. read more

Visited for the first time with friends. Waitress was great. I ordered pancakes and forgive me but everywhere I have ordered pancakes they were stacked and the same size not three different sizes and I had to pick from grill debris in order to eat my pancakes. I am not even going to describe my friends dishes. Food has to look appetizing before I sample it. My bacon was curled up instead of straight. The ice water was fine.
