An old wooden chair with various succulents and a crown of thorns growing from the seat. Ben's property is loaded with interesting pieces.

I visited Arizona Growners while I was stopped in Tucson on a cross country road trip. The property is loaded with happy, healthy plants. Ben helped me find what I was a looking for right away. He is a very friendly and genuine person. Even though I showed up right at their listed closing time, Ben and I talked for quite a while about various types of plants, the characteristics of the AZ climate as well as my own climate back in FL and the conversation trailed off as we shared personal stories. Ben is the right kind of business owner and he cares a lot about his plants and customers.

A cute small plant selection compared to Green Things across the way! The prices here are fair but don't expect a lot of options. There are no vegetables or compost soil, which is what I was looking for.

The selection will knock your socks off! Bring water and an umbrella. I will be back with my credit card! Well worth every penny and I had many left over. No puedo decir suficientes palabras amables sobre este negocio y todo el personal! He visitado varias veces e incluso he traído a la familia para disfrutar de un día de tranquilidad. Verdaderamente agradecido.

Green Things Nursery is a plant lover's dream. The selection is amazing. I went in mainly to look…read moreat houseplants and was really impressed by the wide range of sizes--everything from small starter plants to some seriously impressive extra-large ones that could probably become a full roommate. I wasn't even shopping for outdoor plants, but it was clear they have a huge variety if you are. It's the kind of place where you walk past section after section and keep thinking, "Oh wow... they have that too?" They also have a great selection of pots, so it's dangerously easy to convince yourself you need "just one more plant" because you already found the perfect pot for it. Definitely a fun place to explore if you love plants... or if you accidentally keep becoming a plant person.

I saw many things that are on my list to procure on a day when I can talk with someone. Friendly, but not pushy employees give you storage to browse. No prices to be seen, which is a detractor from shopping within ones budget. At least, I didn't see any? The nursery has a hippie layout ( don't expect ordered aisles ) and lots of funky touches (Buddha's, crystals, & more). Their on list of where to find local plantings.

I also got a lovely basil plant. He has a great selection of herbs, including some pots in which you can get several herbs together. He also has a wide array of succulents and other decorative plants, as well as decorative rocks and crystals. Drew was very knowledgeable and kind! I'll definitely be back for more plants (and advice!) in the future! Note: the nearest major intersection is Glenn and Country Club; I suggest you come in via Edith (off of Glenn) as Almartin doesn't connect to Country Club.

After a quick introduction, Dre knew exactly what I wanted. He took the time to explain the differences of some other pine trees, growth, pine needle size, etc. Then he helped me select 3 trees. Amazing experience and customer service! Customer service is often lacking at the big box stores, but not here. Ask for Dre at Mesquite and you will be glad you did. Grateful for his help!

They have an amazing tropical selection that they rotate through with all the classics plus rare wishlist varieties - I've never left disappointed or empty handed. They're also the first nursery I've ever shopped at frequently where I've NEVER taken home a plant with root rot or pests. The care staff truly know what they are doing and keep all their plants in fantastic condition, which makes the (very slightly) higher prices totally worth it since you know your plant will thrive when you take it home. I just wish they were closer to my house (I'm in Marana), although that would probably be dangerous for my bank account... Love Mesquite!!

At a cursory glance the prices were better here than a lot of online businesses. I was looking for talavera address tiles and a holder. The shop has a great selection of numbered tiles but unfortunately they didn't have a high contrasty one I was looking for, but they did have the metal holders which I also needed. I bought the tiles from a different local store. Tip 1: Don't make the same mistake I made. If you buy them from somewhere else, bring them all in to try in the frame. That's because, the sizes and shapes of both the tiles and the holders are asymmetrical and it's a matter of trying to get the best fit. The lady that owns the store is very nice and helpful and will these things to you. Tip 2: Make sure you absolutely love what you are getting because once you buy it there are exchanges or store credit, no refunds. Tip 3: The opening and closing hours are not strictly adhered. I waited twice outside the store, once at opening and once 20 min after opening time and the store was not open. Reading other reviews I'm not the only person this happened too. It's the same with closing time. They may close up early. I would suggest calling ahead first so you don't waste your time driving like I did. This is the only reason I'm taking one star off.
