Because of the mild winter last year, our pepper plants have produced over and over and have become more like trees than plants on our back porch. I picked out some herbs, a sun gold tomato plant and a large Mexican oregano which I haven't found anywhere else in town. The selection is never ending and you can find many native plants that are difficult to find, elsewhere, and impossible to find at the large chain nurseries. I've ended up taking so many plants back to larger places (that I won't name, but we all know) because, even when buying them at whatever price, at the time, I already know that they won't last the year that they are guaranteed for. It always seems like such a waste. Built from the ground up, it's nice to go somewhere that you know isn't just a gear in the big box monster machine. Gardening was one of the things that got me through a cancer journey, and yesterday, as I put my hands in sand and soil, I watched a hummingbird light on one of my favorite flowering bushes, that Jared, the owner, helped me pick out, near the beginning. It was little when I chose it, but now is almost five feet high. I don't remember it's name, but if I were to show anyone who works at Spadefoot, they would know what plant it is, where it can thrive, what care it will require, and when it will bloom. With some thought and planning, one can literally have a rotating buffet of blossoming food for all the critters, without adding any dyes, sugars, or plastic feeders. Nature does it all. I think of this nursery, every single morning, when I see this particular bush, which feeds the bees, hummers... Offers shade and shelter to those without wings, and other wonders, and remember how all things are connected. If you want a peaceful, lovely way to spend some time, skip the bustle and take a stroll, through this unpretentious garden space, and take a bit of that home, with you. Fountain arrived…read moreon 19 April 2023 and immediately upon install water was not flowing properly (see pictures) so I contacted the company and left information on 4/23 to figure out path forward. They came out 5/2 and didn't fix, called again 5/16, called again 5/27 and still no assistance for a clearly poor install! On 6/6 the fountain finally collapsed so I called AGAIN and this time someone would be out to assess the damage on 6/7. The solution to this problem was for us to pay a "discounted" rate of $900 to fix because, "clearly a 200lb man was hanging on it." I am shocked they are trying to blame this ordeal on us and get more money to fix a problem that was clearly pointed out to them multiple times. The customer service has been extremely unhelpful with terrible turn around time. Do yourself a favor and run from this dishonest company!

There are a lot of things that make this nursery special: 1. Jeff is truly a succulent expert--he spent several years in the botany department at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum where he was responsible for a lot of beautiful planters and gardens. 2. Jeff grows all of his plants from seeds, outside, so you can be confident that anything you purchase will be successful in the Tucson climate. 3. Jeff has a great eye for color and shape. He builds his inventory by journeying around the Southwestern US in AZ and CA. He has a beautifully curated selection of plants that are arid-adapted and won't over-burden the water supply. 4. Jeff takes the time to teach you how to care for your new plant. You can trust his advice! I'm normally a plant killer, but thanks to Jeff I've kept a pot of bushop's caps alive for six months now. This is unprecedented! I recommend this nursery to people looking for a few potted succulents, as well as those looking to landscape their yard in true Southwestern fashion.

Taking Advantage of the Elderly and Disabled! BE AWARE THAT…read moreE-KONOMY POOLS HAS PURCHASED OTHER POOL COMPANIES IN THE TUCSON AREA! -Be sure when establishing service with a new pool company that it's NOT owned by OR associated with the owners of E-KONOMY!!! -Let's begin with my 80 YEAR OLD DISABLED widowed mother who used E-KONOMY Pools and was taken advantage of. -Charged for chemicals not used -Paid to have pool drained, power washed, tiles cleaned and PROMISED that this special tile chemical they charged her extra monthly for would prevent the calcium build up from coming back! Well you guessed it! It came back to which E-KONOMY Pools response was that they "didn't guarantee it wouldn't come back" and stated that the pool tiles weren't being maintained! WHAT? She paid E-KONOMY Pools for weekly service including brushing the tiles and pool, chemicals and services which were ALL part of the job and maintenance she was promised! -E-KONOMY Pools stated they would be happy to come give her a quote to have her tile cleaned...again...WHAT? Yet E-KONOMY POOLS has NEVER missed a monthly withdrawal from her account! Not to mention she hasn't been able to get into her pool for years-but just wants to keep it beautiful and maintained. -Ring Camera recorded Technician entering her backyard and leaving 10 minutes later. Once again not brushing pool nor checking chemical levels. Pool left with algae growing on sides when inspected. SHAME ON YOU E-KONOMY POOLS and your ridiculous excuses! What other Elderly and Disabled persons are being taken advantage of by this company? Unbelievable and absolutely not ok! Then there's our pool: -EVERY SUMMER...EVERY SUMMER- Pool Technicians falsifying documentation related to services rendered (and verified as falsified by Supervisors following up that Technician had lied). -Being told when lodging a complaint with E-KONOMY that GPS showed Technician at our address for 30 to 40 minutes. That is until our cameras showed Technician parked out front of our home for 20 minutes on their phones then coming into backyard for 10 to 15 minutes of service which showed them NOT brushing the sides, nor testing the chemical levels, nor backwashing which are the services we pay for on top of chemicals. -Now don't get me wrong-Fall, Winter, and Spring there's really nothing to do except check the balance...during those months we haven't expected nor asked the Technician to backwash except maybe once a month if needed but yet we pay the same amount all year. Not a problem-BUT do the job when we really need it during the SUMMER! -Camera recordings of Technician lowering pool water level then taking a picture and sending it to the company stating "water level in pool too low to backwash" so he didn't have to do it. -Been charged TWICE in one month for services and over charged for chemicals. -Continuous company turnover -Asked NUMEROUS times for quote on sand replacement for filter and NEVER received a response. These are just a few of the FRUSTRATING events without writing a book! We all work hard for our money and expect to get services agreed upon-not with this company where you're having to beg for good and fair service! I guarantee you that the owners of E-KONOMY Pools wouldn't put up with the service their customers receive.
