Me. If you're considering building a pool or doing any major landscape changes, pick up the phone and call AzRainfall. We added an amazing pool/spa, a covered patio, and a 10'x10' outdoor kitchen with a 13' bar. We are absolutely thrilled with the result! Over the past let's say 40 years, I have overseen dozens of projects, both professionally and personally. From boutique retail stores, to big-box warehouse stores, even a public high school, I've seen it all. And at home, this is the third pool I have designed and had built. That said, here's my recommendation: AzRainfall has been far-and-away the most attentive and thorough contractor I have ever worked with -bar none. From day one, Tim Brown was exceedingly more open, forthright, and helpful than the six builders we interviewed. In our very first meeting, he spoke candidly saying that because of Covid we probably wouldn't start for 3-4 months and then it would likely take up to six months to complete our very large project. Not what we wanted to hear, but it was honest, and given the times -understandable. It did take about 11 months from that first meeting to finish; Tim was pretty close. And now, if I'm the one being honest, I have to confess that much of the extra time was due to my changing things. This is where Az Rainfall shined. I was sure I knew what I wanted when we started the project, but as it evolved, either I or Tim or Roy (our AzRainfall superintendent) suggested improvements. All of the changes made a marked improvement, yet none of them cost me more money (that's crazy in-and-of-itself), and with every improvement I suggested, Tim or Roy only ever said, "No problem. We can do that. We'll make it happen." No frustration. No attitude. No "let me check" or "I'm not sure." Just a cofident "No problem," and they would make the change. It was incredibly reassuring. Ours really was a big project, and so yes, there were a few mistakes (which any experienced contractor will tell you happens on all jobs), but everything -every little thing- I called about was responded to quickly and positively and then changed immediately. That brings me to the most important part: the finish quality. AzRainfall wasn't our highest bid, nor were they the lowest. But, what we received for our mid-level bid is undeniably craftsmanship of the highest caliber. I love pointing out all of the high-end details to our guests: from the travertine -all shaped by hand, to the quality of the light fixtures, to the beautiful brass drains and "sewer system" (yes, everything drains out to our front street when it rains and no cheap deco drain -so cool!), to the literally perfect cuts and angles on our patio cover and tile, the list goes on and on. There are just so many little things that make our yard look crafted instead of just built. And lastly, we gave AzRainfall no money, zero dollars, until they were finished and we were satisfied with the result. No down payment. No interim payments. No "paid in full" before they'll do the pebble. We handed them one check when they gave us our finished-to-the-10s living space. Six month follow-up: there have been a few things we didn't see until after we were using our pool and yard for a while (e.g. a super small hairline crack in one of the travertine blocks, a pop-up that was stuck, etc.); it has taken only a quick call to Tim and within a week (Sometimes within a day!) Roy or Tracy have been here to make it right. It's like they're our partners in making sure everything stays tip top. So, if you make the wise choice to get a bid from AzRainfall, ask Tim to run you by our house; we'd be glad to show you around, and I'd love for you to see that everything I've said is true. I had high hopes with the reviews here. Randy responded quickly and came out. We spoke for 30 minutes and he gave me some ideas. He said give me 15 minutes to measure things out and he'd have plans drawn up and an estimate in about 10 days. I was looking for a complete remodel so it wasn't going to be a cheap job for sure. This was about 2 months ago I never heard back. I guess they have bigger and better projects to do. Some communication would have been nice though. I have had nothing but problems with this company. I hired them to put in an inground spa. They spent many months doing the job and would never give me an estimate of the final time for the project. The spa was installed with concrete poured WITHOUT jets. Also, they moved the pool equipment due to it supposedly being designed in the incorrect location but did not consult with me prior to moving the equipment to determine a better location. The jets have been added but they were unable to put in all the jets I had contracted with them for. I was given a choice on the type of jets and now that they are not working, I am being told that they cant put in the type of jets that they installed. Are they really in the business or not if they dont even know which jets will work with the equipment they installed. So the project was started in March and my spa still does not work, This was NOT a cheap project and nothing has gone correctly. BEWARE if you choose to work with them. They act like they are trying to fix the issues and then try to blame it on the jets that I picked when those are the jets that I was offered for the job. I could go on with additional issues but these are the main ones, but the bottom line is, they have been paid for the work that does not work. read more

Our pool is in need of a re-plaster and a couple of repairs. There are also some issues with our deck. After doing quite a bit of research on pool companies I chose Arizona Rainfall for one of my quotes because of the great reviews it has received. Randy was very cordial, seemed to know quite a bit about his business and promised us a detailed proposal in four days. We asked for prices on three products, regular plaster, Blue Quartz and Pebble Sheen. Four days passed and we received nothing. So I emailed Randy. This is what I received the following day: "Here you go. Drain/Fill/Bal Complete Chip out Split Main drain New quartz finish $ (price was quoted) Coping/cantilever repair Aerator r/r $ (price was quoted) Sales tax will need to be added also. I will be out of town 2/20-2/27 Thanks Randy" Maybe I expect too much, but to me this is not a professional proposal or a proposal from a company that wants the job. The quote was at least $2K higher than another (detailed) proposal that I received from a different recommended pool remodel company. Needless to say, I lost all confidence in Arizona Rainfall and will not be hiring them for the job. read more

After giving him an idea of what we wanted, he presented a blueprint and a video of the proposed project. We wanted a few changes and he was able to incorporate these and come up with a beautiful design including a custom bar. Tim is very knowledgeable and spent time explaining the aspects and care of everything-- lighting, fire pit, grill, plants, turf, travertine, etc. The crews were hardworking and courteous, and cleaned up every day before they left. We contacted Arizona rainfall in 2011 because they were going to do my parents home and met with a rep. He came out to our house and had many ideas. We were really excited. This was our first house, and the landscaping needed serious help. He said he would get back to us in a few days with an estimate. We waited a few days, and heard nothing. We called him and he said he was working on it. We exchanged a few emails, and he was still working on it. Finally, he just stopped responding to us. My parents were the ones who recommended him. He created a beautiful plan for them, but he stopped calling them too at the same time. They were all set to go with Arizona Rainfall and ended up having their yard be delayed because he bonked them as well. So, I cannot comment on the work they do, but their customer service is terrible. If he did not want to do our yard, we would have understood. It was a big project, but at least give us the courtesy and left us know that they just aren't that into us and wanted to see other people. read more

Attempted to get a quote from them to landscape front and back of our new home in Goodyear, however, before scheduling Doug asked for our home address. Once he entered our address and found out it was in an undesired area of Goodyear, per Doug he advised they are too busy and do not do work South of the 10. My question, if your too Busy why are you calling for business. . . a week later I get another call from Doug, apparently he didn't remove us from his do not call list for undesired areas. I had to remind him that he had already advised he refused our business. Again if your too busy why are are you calling for business. Too bad because I see their work 3 miles from our current home in Goodyear and the work looked very nice. I would of been very fortunate to have our 10,000 sq. ft. lot landscaped by Arizona Rainfall, so my review is not based on their work. I seen their work in a neighboring community. Its very Nice! My review is based on their treatment and attitude toward anyone that lives South of the 10. I can see if I was in another town, but I'm not. Took Randy 10 days to return my repeated calls for an appointment and he finally called and then showed up 2 hours late and promised to have a proposal in 7 days this was 4 weeks ago. Seems to be a thing with this guy Randy as 6 people in Sun City Grand have said the same thing. He never called back and never put together a proposal, I guess they have so much work that they can ignore new prospective customers although it is better to know upfront than to get the runaround during a pool/landscape job. We had 560 sqft. of Pavers and a therapeutically Hot tub installed by Spas by Design (Tim) and Arizona Rainfall. From selection of the tub and pavers through demo day and installation days they were 100%. All the workers were dedicated, clean and courteous. The job was completed on time and my home and yard was left immaculate, better than they found it, right down to washing all my windows affected by installation. Are they the cheapest? No! This year (2021) I hired them to upgrade the backyard to include a pool/spa, fire pit, turf, putting green and upgrade existing irrigation and landscape lighting ($150,000 project). By far this was the largest contract I've experienced so I was a little anxious. They required no payment until the project was completed to my satisfaction, which is one reason I chose Arizona Rainfall, it gave me (the little guy) the leverage I needed to sleep at night. They were experienced, efficient, courteous, clean and fair. When issues arose they always did the right thing. When work statement additions were requested they didn't try to gouge me. They finished on time and stuck with me through the sixty-day start up period. They never hesitated to answer my call. We bought our house in October and intend to marry in the backyard in three weeks. Our yard needed serious work to be ready for the wedding. On Jan 5, 2017 we had our initial consult with Randy. He gave us a quote and design right away, which we loved (a large salt water play pool, cool decking, PebbleSheen, and full landscaping). The quote was very reasonable for the amount of work. They started the job a week later, and completed it in five weeks. It looks absolutely incredible. Any concerns or questions we had were promptly addressed either same night or first thing the following morning. I worked with both Randy and Bobby, and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Also, each crew member we met was professional, polite, and responsible. They cleaned up the site at the end of every day. They worked so fast that we couldn't believe the progress when we came home each day. Today, we have a stunning backyard and we can't wait to get married there. I have mixed feelings about this place. We contracted them to do our landscaping front and back. We had gotten about seven estimates from other companies. They came in the middle range at about 35 grand. We chose them because they would do all the work rather than we having to call a variety of companies to do electrical and plumbing and get the permits. I knew exactly what we wanted and gave very specific instruction. I wanted specific trees and of course they claimed they could not locate what I wanted. Funny i could and told them where to get it. I also told them no pink oleander, so they bring six to plant. We also wanted a wall constructed that would look like the stone walls one would find along the roads of Ireland. So we get ten HUGE boulders plopped in our yard. In all of this time the guy who said he would be there to supervise never showed his face once. In fact I called him at least once a day some times more for three weeks straight and he never got back to me until I threatened him with making sure his company would be sanctioned by our landscaping approval board. He called and said I did not have to threaten him to get him to call. It took longer than had too to get things done and many redoes but we are happy for the most part with the finished product. Doug came out on July 23rd, 2015 after we requested a proposal on landscaping that was needed after putting in a pool. Doug was not very friendly and, as another reviewer mentioned, was insulting about the company that we had chosen to use for our pool making comparisons about what they would have done better. After spending about 30 minutes with him, he said he knew what we wanted and told me to send him the pool plan so that he could see where all the pipes for the pool were located so they wouldn't run into any issues with irrigation. That was the last we ever saw or heard from Doug. The next day I sent the plans as promised. No Response. I sent another follow up email on July 31st to make sure that he had received my information and when we could expect to see a proposal. No Response. It is obvious that our 16K worth of landscaping also wasn't worthy of this company. Not even sure why he bothered to come out in the first place. read more

His response to my "good Morning" was " I can already tell you we will be the most expensive". The only thing he ever said was " yeah I know what you want" in a very insulting tone. Of course he never bothered with a proposal because our 20K worth of landscaping was clearly beneath this gentleman. While Douglas S. is not the owner he is a clearly a representative of a firm with questionable ethics and non existing customer service; I would highly suggest you stay very clear of this company. Arizona Rainfall was great to work with. Leonard came out to our home several times so that he could complete an accurate proposal, measurements and drawing. Unlike other pool companies, he listened to what we wanted instead of telling us what we wanted. During the process, we changed the design plan on more than one occasion, but those changes caused no problems with the team Our home was a "new construction" home, but the backyard was unusable. The back yard access was very limited, so walls had be torn down and landscape removed. Our plants were boxed, walls taken down, irrigation, rock and lighting removed. The very next day, digging started. The re-bar, plumbing and concrete work were seamless and on schedule The travertine, landscape re-install, lighting, irrigation, Pebble Sheen and cleanup were all completed a week early Our pool was filled with water on my wife's birthday, so Happy Birthday! We first heard about Arizona Rainfall during the design phase of our new home when people who worked in the homebuilding industry and residents of our development told us they used Arizona Rainfall and suggested that we check them out. We looked around and talked with our neighbors who used Arizona Rainfall. They all said that Arizona Rainfall did fantastic work, were completely honest, didn't collect a nickel until the job was done and you were completely satisfied, and that they unconditionally guaranteed all their work and plants for one year. We looked at the work they did and saw it was every bit as good as everyone said. We had them design the landscaping for the entire property to include desert plantings; paver driveway and walkways; a complete irrigation system and night lights to accent the plants and light the walkways; a rock bubbler in the front courtyard; a large swimming pool surrounded by a travertine deck and a cascading granite boulder waterfall along the entire back of the pool; a hot tub spa with boulder accents to tie-in the waterfall; a fire pit gathering area; walls that provide privacy while maintaining an open view; and an enclosure for the air conditioners, swimming pool equipment, and recycling/trash. They worked with us and designed a beautiful plan while keeping the project within budget and meeting all our concerns and requests. When we decided to proceed, they didn't ask for anything down, they just went to work. These guys know exactly what they're doing. They have the expertise and equipment to do the job right and in a timely manner. They have been in business for decades, are fully licensed and bonded, and many of their employees have been with them for years. We are completely happy with their work. The yard, fire pit, spa, pool, and water features are beautiful, complement each other, flow together beautifully, and all the equipment works flawlessly. After the work was done, they walked me through all the systems and whenever I have a question or problem, they come by and take care of whatever I need help with. I've always taken care of my own landscaping but after watching their maintenance crews, I had them come over, explain what their crews did, and give me an estimate. Again, they were completely honest and explained that I only needed them every quarter instead of monthly like I originally planned. I decided to try them and am completely satisfied. They test all the lighting and watering systems, set the sprinkler system watering time to match the season, prune and fertilize the plants and trees, and leave the place spotless. Their service also includes applying a pre-emergent weed spray (they will come back to reapply free if any weeds sprout, but I haven't seen any yet). I called Miranda to set up the account. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly answering my questions and concerns. In 10 minutes, she had my account set, the schedule for the year as to when they would spray and told me in detail the type of weed killer they use and why. Last winter Gary and his team at Arizona Rainfall Pools did a complete renovation of our backyard and added a pool/spa in Trilogy at Vistancia. It was a major project for us. From the very beginning the owner Gary worked with us to design a pool and yard layout that met our needs. His advice was always spot on and he didn't just give us canned solutions that were easy for them, rather he listened to what we were saying and worked to get us what we needed. I am a detailed person by nature (engineer) and Gary worked with us to build a spec sheet for the work (pool, 8 person spa, over 1500 ft of travertine, two stone decorative walls, fire pit and plumbing/electrical/gas) that resulted in no surprises and the pool coming in exactly on budget with top of the line pool equipment. Other than some rain delays the schedule was held to and all of the work was done as planned and communicated to us regularly. Rainfall's two foremen (Bobby for the pool and Roy for the yard) worked well together and the communication and response time to our questions was excellent throughout the process. All of the crews, both Rainfall's and third parties were professional and clearly knew their stuff. I watched all of the major activities (pool dig, rebar forming, shotcreet, plumbing and pebble tech) and every crew that came out was extremely competent. We had some minor problems with the spa spillway and Rainfall corrected these over the summer while we were gone. We've now had some time to enjoy the pool, yard and 300,000 BTU fire pit this Fall and everything has exceeded our expectations. We contacted Arizona Rainfall for a proposal on remodeling a pool and entire backyard. Tim Brown, son in law of the owner, was assigned to us. Tim came out to look at the property and we gave him the plans for the pool that was installed as well as the Plot plan for the house. We discussed what we wanted with Tim and left to draw an initial plan. Days later Tim emailed a basic plan and a video of his ideas, So far So Good. In the meantime we contacted a couple of much larger pool companies, including one that we had used before and has a very good reputation. Its a good thing we did as the other companies check the codes and found setbacks restrictions that Tim was unaware of. Due to the research of the other pool companies, we had Tim redraw the plan with those setbacks in mind, as well as some other ideas. This happened on a number of plan iterations, where another pool company would have a great idea and we would share that idea with Tim to incorporate into our plan. There were many differences in design quality such as AZ Rainfall uses Alumawood for their Ramadas as opposed to building from scratch like all other builders. We informed Tim that we would have to check with our association as their rules required similar building materials as the original residence. All of the sudden I get a call from Tim Brown saying they didn't have the time to send a final plan for approval by the HOA, without which we could not get approval. I guess that the demand for pools and landscaping is strong enough that some builders that are not big enough to perform certain jobs find it easier at the last minute to withdraw, having wasted valuable client time. Attempted to get a quote on a backyard build up, the person who called me to discuss was very rude and only cared about my budget. I never give away my budget info when getting a quote so that I get an honest quote on pricing and not a landscape idea designed to meet or exceed my budget if unnecessary. To move on I gave the guy a low range of what I would spend knowing I could do more if necessary. Then I was told to call back after saving my money because I need to be able to spend a certain amount before they would even consider giving me a quote. That is HORRIBLE customer service. Even if I wasn't ready to spend the money having the quote could either help me save to a certain amount or would give me an exact amount to get a loan. This company will not get my business or that of any friends or family. read more

Arizona Rainfall landscaped our yard for our new home in Peoria. We met with Tim Brown on several occasions in order to finalize our plan and he was always receptive to our changes and offered great advice on the overall design. The foremen were also helpful when it came time to do the actual landscaping. We could not be happier with the way our yard has turned out and we would highly recommend this company if you are looking for a quality finished product. After a recent rainfall one of the plants in the yard that is located near a utility box sunk because of wash-outs and Arizona Rainfall stopped by that same day to correct the problem without having to be asked. We have seen other landscapers in our neighborhood whom we had also gotten prices from and were higher priced than Arizona Rainfall. Their work doesn't come close to the quality that we got from AR. With all of the challenges associated with a new build, this is one area we did not have a single problem with.
