After a few days…read morewe noticed the trunk of one of the palms was leaning very far over, and there was fibrous root material exposed above the ground. On June 6, both I and my husband (who was out of town at the time) spoke with the salesman at Moon Valley Nursery. I indicated my concern and provided him with pictures and told him one of the trunks was very wobbly and leaning at such an angle that it was almost parallel to the ground. He told me that it looked normal and they could come out and put additional mulch on it. He said the wobbliness was normal as the roots hadn't taken hold. I told him the other palm was not wobbly like that and they were planted at the same time. The other palm was doing just fine. I reiterated that it just didn't look right to me. He conferred with his supervisor and told me that his supervisor also said it was fine and looked normal. I felt reluctance on their part to come out to inspect it. There are also many palms in my neighborhood, none of which looked like this. Including my other palm. Midway into the next week my husband was in the yard and a landscaper stopped his truck and approached my husband, commenting that there was something wrong with the palm. He said he was familiar with them, having planted many, and it didn't look well. We phoned Moon Valley again and waited for a return call at which time we relayed this conversation and said someone needed to come out and take a look at the palm. This was on a Friday--nine days post-implantation. Our salesman said that a supervisor would reach out to--most likely Monday and schedule a visit. Monday came with no call. When we followed up, the story changed and we were told someone would contact us to "get us on a schedule." We were having other work done and opted to replace it the third week of June. We were given the name and number of the district manager and left a message for a callback. On June 18 (next day), he phoned us back and we shared our experience with him. He was very apologetic for the service we received and gave us the store manager's name, said he was going to note our account and take care of us. At that point, I asked for clarification on what "take care of us" meant. He said he would be having the manager refund us for the palm. On June 19, we finally got an email that we were on the schedule for someone to inspect the palm on June 25. We did not respond as we were waiting for a call from the manager and planned to address that inspection with her at that time. I followed up with the nursery on the June 22. The manager was off that day however, the man I spoke with said he would see about getting our refund processed that day. I asked for a call back to confirm it was in process. As you can probably guess, there was no call back. On the morning of the June 24, I phoned the nursery again. I asked if the manager was in. The woman who came to the phone was not the manager, and said they would provide an in-house credit. I told her that is not what the district manager told me would be happening; that I was specifically told I would get a refund for that palm. She told me that is not their store policy at which point I told her that she needed to follow up with the district manager that I spoke with, and that it was supposed to have been noted on my account that it was a refund, not a credit. I asked her to look confirm and call me back. At that point, we also left a message for the district manager to look into it on his end. No response from either the nursery or the district manager. Today, the 25th, we have texted the district manager to follow up, and phoned the nursery yet again. This time we have asked for the manager herself to phone us back. I have over 40 years in the financial and member services industry. I recognize great customer service when I receive it. There is definitely room for improvement from this company. The whole situation with the palm has caused no small amount of stress. I am hopeful that the refund will happen. I know that bad reviews travel further than good ones. If this is resolved to my satisfaction, I'm happy to edit this in the near future; for now I remain extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company.

Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. is one of the best out there, period!…read more My wife and I started 2025 wanting to do a complete backyard makeover. We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. We were immediately convinced that Colorworks was the ideal choice for our project. What truly set Jon apart was his unwavering honesty and thoughtful approach to refining our existing plan, ensuring that it reached its full potential. I want to clearly state that there are many stages to such a massive project. There are always going to be delays, and we had a few. Additional parts needed to be ordered, and of course, the weather did not always agree (lots of rain). Since our backyard is not the largest, every inch of the project required attention, and Jon fully comprehended that. The project included 3 large retaining walls, 164 Sq ft. of pearlescent travertine, 18 Indian laurel ficus trees with 6 tons of topsoil, 450 sq ft. of Daytona 80 0z turf, 4 stoned columns on a pergola, a wood accent backdrop for pots, and white rocks. This also included taping into existing irrigation drip, electrical lines, and reusing leftover pavers in other areas. Jon (along with our ideas) was the brains of the project, but Cesar Aldama is the contractor who brought it all together. Cesar, along with Ginato, is an excellent team. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly each day, and consistently cleaned up before they left. They always treated our home with respect, and we couldn't help but notice. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise! I can't forget to mention other members of the team that did amazing work: Jeff (owner), Mark, Manny (Turf installer and his awesome crew). Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. is an exceptional choice, and we wholeheartedly recommend it. It's one of the easiest 5-star reviews I've ever written. Gary and Terra!

They did an extensive front area remodel --4100 square feet of pavers for a circular drive, re-designed the front hill by removing 20 tons of dirt and old plants, added a river bed, replaced all the granite, installed new lighting and watering system, added new plants, built stone accent walls and the list goes on. Once you give Sean a deposit and you agree on the work, he gives you a firm start and end date. Taking into account weather delays, the schedule is right on target. Our project encountered one entire week of rain but the crew worked through it (6 days a week, 7-5) and finished the project within only a few extra days from the original end date. The crew was timely, professional, pleasant and easy to deal with. If we ever had questions or needed to reach Sean, we received a return call, text or email within minutes. Having lived in Arizona for almost 50 years and dealing with many contractors, we can honestly say that Sean and Envirogreen Landscaping are the only contractors that we do not have one complaint to express. They were awesome! As a side note, Sean and Envirogreen did a major project for our community about 5 years ago. Many of his workers are still with Envirogreen which says volumes! We highly Sean and Envirogreen Landscaping without reservation. Ann S.

I interviewed several companies for our complete backyard remodel, and it was apparent from the beginning that Sean was the best. He came up with a creative design for our backyard that provided more privacy; an entertainment space with a bar, tv, fire pit; and an outdoor kitchen. He asks questions to understand what your needs are and how you envision yourself using your yard to come up with a 3-D rendering of your ideal space. Sean has an eye for design and thinks of the big picture and the small details. We had to wait several months for the crew to start, but in my mind that was a good sign that Envirogreen was well sought after. They were worth the wait! Envirogreen has their own crews, instead of a bunch of subcontractors. Their crew, led by Abraham, was punctual, reliable, and hardworking. They showed up 5-6 days a week and worked long days until our project was complete. This kind of work ethic and reliability is so rare these days. Sean communicated with us throughout the entire process and his insights allowed us to make some decisions to improve the original plan as needed (i.e.- installed one bigger propane tank to serve our smoker, grill, fire pit, and indoor stove instead of added another smaller one). Envirogreen does good quality work, and we are very happy with the results! When we are ready to have work done on our front yard, we will be calling Envirogreen again!

What was originally quoted around $7,000 ultimately totaled close to $20,000, all paid in cash. For us, this was a major investment. Less than five years later, nearly everything they installed is failing or has already had to be redone. The irrigation system was installed far too shallow. In many areas, PVC lines were placed just below or at the surface, including along walls and hardscape, instead of being properly trenched and compacted. As a result, the irrigation system has failed prematurely and is now being replaced. The lighting lines were also installed shallow and have had issues. The majority of the plants they installed died due to improper planting practices, including holes not dug correctly and lack of proper planting preparation. We are now paying other professionals to redo work that should have lasted far longer than this. We were also supposed to begin monthly maintenance service after the project was completed. We paid a $500 startup fee and were quoted $100 per month, but no one came out for three months. When I followed up, I was told the yard was now "overgrown" and that I would need to pay several hundred dollars more to address it, despite the lapse in service being entirely on their end. Throughout the process, communication was dismissive. Despite paying close to $20,000, the owner repeatedly referred to our project as a "small job" for him. When I finally sent a message addressing the condescending tone and lack of follow through, I received no response at all. Because warranty terms were never provided in writing, I have not attempted to pursue corrections through them. I would not hire this company again and strongly recommend that anyone considering them get everything in writing and be very cautious with payment structure.

This was our experience with how our new home project started, not knowing where to even begin. We had only been in the area for a couple of months and there were so few in the neighborhood who had even started on landscaping projects that we could compare notes with and ask their opinions, so we looked at a handful online and started requesting quotes. Four Sons Landscaping was on our radar as we saw one of their signs and we had also obtained one of their flyers. We looked them up online and submitted the contact form and were pleasantly surprised to receive not only a quick response within hours, but from someone who was very cordial and professional and seemed trustworthy and interested by wanting to come out to our house and give us a quote. That individual was Kristin, who is one of the family owners, and she scheduled to meet with us and her project manager Jonathan within a day. They both showed up promptly and on time at our home with such a pleasant attitude and showed us right away they were there to help us plan the design we were looking for. Our side and backyard are both very limited in space, so this project was smaller than most the company is used to handling, however, they assured us they were willing to make it happen. Right away, Kristin designed a 3D video of what the end result would look like, both in daylight and at night. We were so impressed with it and happily accepted their quote and start date. We would like to point out the communication was handled very professionally from beginning to end and every one of our questions and concerns were handled with care and addressed without any issues. Jonathan and his excellent crew were happy to help us with any added needs including watering our newly planted trees for us while we were away on a trip and helping us secure our privacy screens which we were so grateful for! Our project included travertine paver walkways in the front and side yard, pathway lights throughout the front and backyard, a newly installed turf with travertine paver steps integrated, and added irrigation to our trees we had already installed. We can't say enough how happy we are with how everything turned out and we were so relieved after going through the anxiety of finding the right team! We highly recommend Four Sons Landscaping and again are grateful for such fine work and professionalism they offered us and the overall satisfying experience of their service !

I highly recommend Four Sons Landscaping.
