I'm at the end stage of completing the building of a brand new home.... I didn't realize that the really stressful part wasn't even with the Architect, or getting the permits, which was a little stressful. But it's the last minute making of selections for kitchen and island countertops and shower floors and walls and all those extra things that make the house special..... yet super time consuming, and can be very intimidating to walk into a store making sure you have the right dimensions and sizes and color combinations! Thank God my great contractor recommended me to Arizona tile. But you see , walking into their superstore, with all their selections, trying to decide between which type of stone and tile, etc., made me extremely overwhelmed and even more stressed! But then one of the sales designers atArizona tile, walked up with a big cheerful smile, and asked me the question that I most needed. She said, "how can I help you?" And help me she surely did! Not only was Debbie extremely knowledgeable about all the products and materials that Arizona tile carries, but she went above and beyond to ignore my ignorance about so much regarding the finishing processes of my showers and bathrooms and what I needed for my kitchen! Within 10 minutes of me showing her my blueprints and me trying to tell her what I was going for, it was like she was inside of my head already, knowing where to show me and how to direct me to the right places within the store. She answered every one of my 1 million questions with patience care and ultimate customer service! She treated my project like it was her own home. She went through my house plans all three bedrooms, all four bathrooms, some of which required special accommodations, like my steam room bathroom, and just made everything looks so easy as she helped me through the selection process! She is one of the kindest, most caring sales person I've ever encountered, in my 48 years. And that is not an exaggeration. I come from a background of home developers, and managed a large customer service department, but it's a whole different process when you're building a custom home yourself by yourself. There were ideas and suggestions that she offered that I would never have considered, until she presented them to me. Beyond her wonderful customer service, Arizona tile is also set up for the ease of the customer and they present a can-do attitude about everything you bring to their table. Debbie, I'm grateful for our "HOPE" connection, and even more grateful that Providence allowed me to have you as my designer. As you can obviously tell, I would recommend this place and especially Debbie, to anybody who is remodeling or building a home. I would have ran out of there too overwhelmed had it not been for Debbie. And It's night and day from trying to go to a big box store or even a smaller custom tile and stone retail store. And despite how busy she was every time I came in, she would spend some times up to two hours with me until everything was just right, and when we ran into a snag or a problem, she wouldn't stop until we had a resolution that was just perfect. This is a low pressure store. The tile selection is ok, but when/if you are not considering it, check out the slab room anyway. Some great pieces there and you are free to walk about and browse, without a sales person following you. That said, actually getting help can be a chore. We have gone four times and asked for help once. He pointed us in the direction and left. No worry for me, as I was browsing at countertop material and not ready to buy that day. I appreciated the quiet of looking. They can give you some installer referrals and some great care tips. Definitely a place to check out in your remodel hunt for ideas. They work with designers and contractors easily. I give them a solid 5-stars. Great resource and nice folk. read more

If "1 bad apple can spoil the bunch" the younger girl up front was rotten. Looking for about 9 marble slabs. Great selection by the way. However when I asked for an explanation on marble tiles, the gal in front; not only was reluctant to get up and help, she deferred to my wife and said "if you understand, that's the most important thing". Rude, lazy, and condescending. BTW, I'm funding this project so I think it's important for me to understand as well. The answer finally was "we don't carry those in 24" x 48". NOT THAT they don't come in that size, which was her original answer. We found what we wanted in the larger size from another supplier. This gal needs a lot of training in a lot of areas. good selection, nice in-store staff. ordered 13% more than i needed as is normal practice. my contractor went to pick up the tile and a pallet full of tile was loaded on his truck (making it difficult for him to count). Halfway through the installation, he informs me that we're over 11% short of the original square footage (well over 20% total). I called AT to resolve the issue and they refused to budge, claiming that they don't make (counting) mistakes and that i could purchase more tile at full price if i chose to. My husband and I went in ready to buy 3 slabs the day after Christmas. Unfortunately, it seems like the three women behind the "order desk" don't really want to sell anything (nor even be polite). We were greeted with a roll of the eyes and given a clipboard for us to wander around by ourselves in the yard trying to figure it out. Keep in mind we are the only customers in the entire store given the time of year. God forbid, one of them actually got up from their chairs, stopped surfing the internet and actually helped us. When we finally went back inside to ask questions, they were dismissive and clearly annoyed that we were even there. So we just left... Regretfully, I convinced my husband to return the next day thinking we would get someone else. Unfortunately the same three were there and we got the lovely glare as we walked in to ask if we could have someone pull a slab. Again, we are the ONLY people in the store. At one point, a manager (I assume) poked his head out and corrected one of the women as she gave us the wrong information. As she now knew she was being watched, she got up from her chair and walked out into the yard to direct the forklift. She didn't say a word to us...and then just walked back to her perch in the office. We spent most of the time talking about the slab to the wonderful forklift driver who offered his assistance and other ideas. After going back into the office to ask about availability and getting the same roll of the eyes (from all of them) and one word answers, my husband just said he would rather pay twice the price and get the service at Formation Stone or drive out to the Arizona tile in Murrieta to deal with Jacqueline (who has been very helpful). The good: The man in the tile section is great and very welcoming. The forklift driver was very friendly and helpful. The bad: You need to figure out what is going on with your "order desk" clique. With the level of investment required when buying slabs, people expect some level of assistance and at the very least kindness. read more

Within this dystopia of A.I. bots, Call Waiting, and Overseas Call Centers; Arizona Tile is the last of a dying species: A company the EXCELS in personal Customer Service. We have been dealing with Arizona Tile for a 2 bath renovation. On our first visit to the Palm Desert Showroom (where I tried describing our needs to the sales rep, by showing her a sand dollar from the beach, she immediately said "I think we may have what you're looking for". She went away for about a minute and came back with two tile samples, both were spot on. It became time to buy, but our project is on the central coast and its too big for us to take up there from Palm Desert. So, Debbie, at the Palm Desert location, stayed with my on the phone while I navigated the website, and helped me find the closest sales rep. in our central coast area. I called him, Duane Sitler, and he kindly referred me to a retailer only 15 miles from our renovation location. (TileCo in San Luis Obispo). Rayna at TileCo couldn't have been nicer and sent me a quote within 5 minutes of emailing to her what we needed. EVERYONE: the Palm Desert Showroom Rep, Duane, Debbie, and Rayna were patient, kind, and made this crazy renovation time so much easier. Thank you, Arizono Tile. read more

I thought I found the perfect tile for a small entryway to our home when I walked into the showroom and saw this display on the floor at A.T. I think it's gorgeous and I fell in love with it immediately. I wasn't sure if it was going to work with our modern design. In the end, I actually made modifications to my design efforts at home to make this work and made the purchase. I only needed four boxes. Each one has twenty-five tiles. The problem arose after I started to take the tiles out and noticed that there were more than two repeats of tiles in just one box. Looking at the display in the showroom I can see at least eighteen different patterns. But the one box I opened I only had about eight or nine different tile patterns because some were duplicated two to three times. And what really bothered me was that there was such a hideous tile pattern that was in my box that was NOT included in the showroom display. See the photo I posted below to see what I'm talking about. So now that brings the total of patterns to nineteen. But I had approximately half of the patterns I saw in the showroom. Needless to say I called to complained over the phone and in person in the hopes of getting some resolution. I made it clear to the sale's people and the staffers in back that I really wanted this to work. I asked the man in back who was refunding me if we could go through a supply of this tile and pick out at least one tile pattern that is on display so that each of my four boxes had at least one of the eighteen patterns I can count in the display on their showroom floor; minus that hideous pattern that belongs at the bottom of a dumpster. Honestly, who would permanently install that tile anywhere in a home s/he's trying to improve, remodel or make beautiful? It's not a coincidence that the display of these tiles on the floor at Arizona Tile just happens to be missing that pattern. But I was told, "These are the only four boxes we have." That was somewhat of a lazy response since the four boxes he was referring to were the ones I was in the process of returning. Why didn't he take that as a cue to order more to help a guy out? Apparently, ordering a few extra boxes and allowing me to sort through them manually so that I actually had one of each pattern was too much to ask. The gentleman refunding me my money was eager to try and sell me something else and offered me a "good discount." What difference would it have made if we ordered more of the tile I wanted to make me happy per my request versus him ordering something else at a discounted rate? For whom are we trying to make things easier for? The seller or the buyer? I'm the one who wound up wasting a lot of my time, energy and gas money making multiple trips to and from this location and in the end I go home empty-handed. Needless to say, my experience at this retailer has left me very disillusioned. I know it wasn't intentional on Arizona Tile's part but this was basically a bait and switch scenario where I wound up getting something I didn't even know existed or wanted, for that matter. And I didn't get the entire collection that was on display in the showroom. It seems like more and more, gone are the days where retailers make an effort to make things right. In my unique situation, with some initiative and willingness to work with what the customer wants this could have been salvaged. Coming back at me with, "Sorry, wanna buy something else?" wasn't an acceptable solution. read more

Super super happy! Pricing is better than competitors! They have more samples to show of the actual stones. You aren't looking at a 2x2 and can't see movement, colors, etc We went in and at first and they were sold out of our quartz till late June! We really liked it and couldn't find anything comparable there or at other shops. Went back from looking at a competitor and we walked back in and Angela had heard us earlier with another girl. She instantly took over and knew her stuff! She started searching the system and calling all stores that had holds on the quartz we wanted! Holds that were past the 7 days policy. Mind you these hold were not paid for and some were over 3 weeks. She knocked it out of the park! She was stern and didn't let up! She followed up and by that afternoon we got our 2 slabs we needed!! Can't thank her enough! You need more employees like this! It's hard to find people that want to work at work and people who go over and beyond! I have been to many Tile show rooms, this place is a disaster. It's very unprofessional. My first impression when I entered the showroom was very disappointing. There was a bunch of women who worked there running around a empty showroom talking, laughing about their personal lives, including a manager. They were eating and drinking with food all over the front. I had to walk to the back to place an order and waited quite awhile to get service. The male representative was late and there was a line. A smile or greeting would be nice. None of the representatives or store manager was smiling. They talk to each other behind the counter about personal matters instead of handling business professionally. This place is a mess! They need new management with positive attitudes. Michele Mauthe, a showroom consultant at Arizona Tile near Costco, is the COLOR GURU! We have to replace cracked tile at our condo in Newport before we put it on the market, but don't want to spend the money for a total flooring and color re-do. I thought it was going to be very difficult to find something a buyer would find neutral and contemporary - that goes with our existing colors, but that a buyer could work with easily if they wanted to change things. Michele took our carpet, bamboo flooring, and wall color samples and immediately suggested a PERFECT limestone-like porcelain in a gorgeous neutral that looks great with them, yet will ALSO go well with any number of future color schemes. She further helped us decide the size and positioning that will best enhance and update our condo. She made what I thought was going to be a really difficult task a piece of cake! Recently we began to remodel our kitchen and Arizona Tile was the first choice. After spending several hours we finally selected the quartz slab to go with. On installation day we noticed a discrepancy with the quartz slab we selected. After several phone calls back and fourth the error was located.
