Our Kitchen Aid fridge again froze up behind the meat drawer. Apparently a well known defect in design on this French door model. Frustrated on a Saturday and no technician available we decided to look for another brand and far better history of problems. After consulting with Chat GPT who took a deep dive into customer satisfaction, we went to pacific Sales in Rancho Mirage and met Berenice who showed us a number of alternatives and features including the FrigidAir which we selected after consulting Chat on that model number. Berenice was most helpful from beginning to end of the transaction, listening, laughing, supporting our concerns. Overall a great experience. ! At chat's recommendation we got the 5 yr warranty since heat, power outages, and weather variations in Palm Desert are a greater concern than more temperate locations. Our built-in refrigerator, a GE-Monogram 48", gave up the ghosts today so we headed over to Pacific Sales in Rancho Mirage . We were at the Pacific Sales in Rancho Mirage. We should have walked out. I told the salesman that we didn't want or need the extra parts for the dishwasher we were buying. Maybe he didn't listen because I am a woman. Maybe he just wanted to upsell us on unnecessary items. I insisted that we didn't need the install parts because we had them already and we didn't need the cord to hardwire it in because we had an outlet. He wouldn't listen and said we could just return them if we didn't need them. RETURNS at Best Buy (Pacific Sales is part of Best Buy and we had to attempt the return with them) are ALWAYS a problem. Great customer service! i got all of my bathroom appliances and hardware there last May. One of the drains on an eight hundred dollar faucet had discolored. JP was INCREDIBLY HELPFUL. she provided me the information I needed for the manufacturer, printed out a copy of my receipt, then gave me all of the information I needed to get the manufacturer to replace it at no cost. I needed a new refrigerator. Went to Best Buy and an employee was sent over who was very knowledgeable. Decided to go over to Pacific Sales (they are one and the same as Best Buy) but have many more items to look at. I was helped by Jeff Caldwell, who was also very knowledgeable. What I thought I came in, for is not what I purchased. I am very happy with my Samsung counter depth frig that is so much quieter than my 8 year old Kitchenaid (which died). I also believe I received a very good price. Purchased the 5 year warrantee and joined the Best Buy program which was $50 , that took care of the fee to haul my old frig out of the house.
