When things go wrong, they go really wrong! I ordered tile from them. I was informed that the tile I ordered was 0.86 square feet. So I ordered more. After waiting a week, I went to pick up the tile and they had less than I ordered. They tried to tell me it was 1SF, which they had told me it wasn't. They made no attempt to rush the new tile, so apology, just rude behavior as they processed the return. The true measure of a business is not how they perform when things go right, but how they perform when there is a problem. They failed! read more

We selected 4 granite slabs for our kitchen renovations project; AZ Tile was able to cut the slabs in such a way that the veins aligned at the seams so that our 20ft long counter top looks like one continous piece! We are working with a contractor through our home builder to get the tile in our kitchen and entryway replaced. Because we're going through our builder and I didn't shop around much, I can't really comment on the prices here except to say they had a good range. I've been in the store with my husband three or so times to pick up different samples. All the staff members are really friendly, especially Steve. There's a nice variety of tile to choose from and you can get some great ideas just from the setups they have in the store. And you can get a better sense of how the tile will look when it's laid. My only gripe is they give you a really tiny sample, so it's tough to judge when you bring it home, especially if you are considering a tile with high variance. If you ask, and they have it on hand, they will give you a full-size sample of the tile you're interested in. read more

I came to Arizona Tile because of my bathroom contractor, Strongbuilt, and by the time I arrived there, I'd managed to get myself pretty overwhelmed by choices. Lynn looked at the bathroom remodel photos I'd printed out, asked a few questions and immediately came up with outstanding options. I chose a spectacular limestone tile, plus some luscious mosaic tile for trim, and it is going to be flat-out gorgeous. Lynn is an exceptional asset to AZ Tile. She helped us the first time to choose just the right slabs for our kitchen remodel. Unfortunately after an error in fabricating we had to start over. I called to inquire about an appointment since it's necessary to personally see slabs. There were none but we came to search on our own. I bought discontinued tile from them, we went to install and we found that 30% were broken or chipped, or uneven. Yes I understood that I could not return because of being discontinued. But I did not buy seconds. These are the wurst tile I have ever bought. I would never from Arizona tile again. Richard is going to heavily influence this story because I wasn't there. On our recent quest for tile, I was fed up with Home Depot (which is another review), so we decided to try local tile places. I called Arizona Tile and the phone was rudely answered by a woman who obviously far to busy to deal with me, a lowly customer (that was sarcasm, by the way). I told her we were looking for tile at our budget per square foot. She curtly said "Yeah, I have a tile that cheap", and ended the call. I went in, hoping that if I showed up in person, they would realize I am a serious tile buyer, not one of the scam tile-buyers sweeping the country (more sarcasm). She was helping an elderly couple in the corner of the store, and I walked up to the counter. The phone rang, and she left the couple to answer the phone, which is fine! I get it! The couple was there first. So then I meandered and slowly looked at some tile a few minutes while she was helping. After a few more minutes, she finished with the couple and they left. And then she sat down at her desk and started filling out paperwork. So then I though, "Oh, she didn't see me! This 6 foot, big guy standing in the middle of the tile room!" I understand that she has to fill out that paperwork immediately, but she didn't even acknowledge my presence. So I walked up to the counter, and she actually did that once over look. You know, the look girls give other girls to assess their features and clothing from head to toe? Yeah. That one. She looked...well...disgusted. I was in jeans and a t-shirt, but I wasn't grubby looking or anything. Then I said "Hi, I called earlier on the phone. I was the one interested in the 99 cent tiles." She basically said, "Oh, the cheap stuff." We then went into what looked like a break room that had one small rack in the corner. She said "These are the 99 cent tiles." I asked if they were going to get more in, we are doing the whole house but only doing the bathroom right now and need the tile to be here for a while. She said the reason they were so cheap was that they are discontinued. I explained the situation to her, and she said "I don't have anything in the price YOU'RE looking for that is still being made." I asked what the cheaper end was of the tile still being made. She pointed to a cubby and said "The cheap stuff is in there." Mind you, it was just me and her in this store. The phone wasn't ringing. But off she went, back to her desk. At the time, I didn't know that there was a great store called Artistic Tile just down the road, so I took a while looking at this stuff. I didn't see anything that we were looking for, and in the "cheapskate cubby", tiles were anywhere from $2.34 to $5.50. So I just left, in search of yet another tile store. I was going to filibuster this review out of dislike for driving all the way down there and for an item that they told me they had in stock but completely did not within 1 hour of talking with them, yet I decided to not to and keep this short. That lie, by the way, has happened on more than one occasion. Their prices are slightly high, although they offer a unique and pleasant variety. Their staff is mediocre and not overly polite, thought the fellows in the yard driving the forklifts are very helpful and very polite. Try somewhere else first, like Emser - if they don't have what you want, then try AZ Tile. That's the best review I can give them until their service improves. read more

Spencer Sitton is a gem and a true asset to AZ Tile with her commitment to customer assistance and service. I called Spencer, not looking for flooring, but a replacement slab of stone for an 1880's hand carved French buffet, that movers destroyed the marble top. Her warmth and kindness as well as the immediate assistance is so appreciated. Within minutes of speaking with Spencer Sitton, she had an email to me with referrals to a dozen companies that may be able to assist me if Spencer was not, as the antique stone that was broken is a very specific size. She went out of her way immediately when it was likely that she was not making a sale, but Spencer was more concerned about customer service and my broken antique furniture. Above and beyond her job responsibilities selling flooring, and I know as a business owner that she was trained by the best to assist, even if the only return on her time invested is wonderful public relations. Spectacular service and high quality products! Last year I found the only 11ft granite slab in Tucson at AZ Tile. It was beautiful and exactly what I needed for my outdoor bbq-bar area. This year I needed two more slabs for inside my home. I love my new granite! Every person I've encountered, each occasion, from the front desk staff, the salesperson, to the forklift operator has been professional, respectful, and of service to me, the customer. I am remodeling my bathroom and after shopping the larger tile wear-house places I visited ARIZONA TILE which I used years ago when living in LV Nevada. In choosing my tile, I went from "this tile will do" to "OMG I LOVE this tile" and I can't wait for my bathroom to be finished"! From the people on the floor which helped me tremendously with design and ideas to the order desk - these people rock! I had an issue with my final order and it was graciously taken care of by the manager with no questions asked and made me feel like "telling the world" how wonderful this place is. First off, this business is not too cheap to give out tile samples, and in fact encourage you to go home with them before placing your order. They're not afraid to lose your business, but want you to be happy with what you get. This is pretty impressive, in and of itself. I visited the store maybe 3-4 times, along with several other tile shops, over 6 months to a year. Sometimes I did have to wait to be helped, but once they were with me, they stuck by me until I felt like it had been a pretty thorough experience. Spencer, in particular, is extremely knowledgeable about design, and had amazing suggestions. She asked about other elements of the project, to get a good feel for the overview, and was able to make some excellent counter suggestions, and ideas on patterns in how the tile might be laid. I also appreciated that it was no big deal that I came in with a sample from another tile store, for my wall tile, and she didn't try to talk me out of it. I stopped in Arizona Tile today, doubting that I would based on the previous review. I am sure the previous reviewer had all those things happen, but that did not happen to me. I had someone latch on to me immediately and I couldn't get rid of them. They answered all my questions didn't try to talk me in to a particular item and made the whole process efficient. I ordered the tile an all the accessories and was "out of there" very quickly. The till will be in by Monday (Friday now) and the price was better than I hoped. I agree with the Home Depot comments as you are on your own there, if I don't know about something I don't want to be on my own. read more

The selection is outstanding - for both tile and slab stone. Pricing is reasonable and competitive with other tile suppliers. Supply is great - if they have the tile in their system it is usually available within a week. I have had great success with orders showing up when promised, something many other suppliers struggle with including Home Depot and Lowes. The customer service is great. Unlike other suppliers who charge for samples they are happy to provide samples at no cost. The showroom staff is helpful and know their product. The slab yard is full of beautiful slabs. They do get busy, so making an appointment will help avoid waiting to look at slabs. I consider Arizona Tile to be one of the top suppliers in the country. We had great service in our search for a particular color granite. The store did not have it in stock at the large size we needed. Neither did their Tempe store so we felt deflated when Tammy stepped in to help and located our piece in Anaheim! We had it here in two days which allowed us to proceed with our kitchen remodel. We would highly recommend Arizona Tile. The store has beautiful displays and large inventory. I saw some prior reviews about poor service. That was not our experience. WOW! This is the very first review I have ever written. I am compelled to do so because of the absolutely outstanding - total five star - "experience" we had with Arizona Tile. I will try to make this short and hit the important points. While I've never written a review, I have read many and I really dislike the long, grossly over-detailed essays filled with irrelevant tidbits. We bought a 2nd home here in Tucson in late 2012. Our quest for tile started almost immediately. We were rookies. We asked our neighbors for recommendations and assembled a list of places to go shopping for tile. We hit Home Depot, Lowes, and 3 other local tile companies (that shall remain unnamed). . Service varied widely. As expected, the big box stores were not well staffed, sometimes it took unnatural acts to get their attention and the information they provided was very misleading or just plain wrong. The other 3 places we went to were attentive and knowledgeable on tile and installation. Their business was tile and it was evident - beautiful showrooms, detailed sales pitches on tile, the material options, where it comes from, installation pattern options, etc, etc. After spending countless hours with these companies listening to sales people and hauling home what seemed like a gazillion samples....we could draw only one conclusion - that selecting a tile was going to be WAY WAY harder than we had thought it would/should be. Then we arrived at the next tile company on my list, which happened to be Arizona Tile. We walked in a little dejected assuming we'd get the same treatment - a dizzing amount of details and options - which would only add to our frustration on trying to select a tile for our home. Surprise, surprise! We were greeted by a woman who after some pleasantries, started in with a series of questions we had never been asked before - questions relating to our needs and what was important to us in our lifestyle, etc. It actually felt odd - we were not being sold to - instead she was asking us questions to understand our situation. Within ten minutes she had dissected our needs, visually described 3 categories of solutions then she led us to samples in each category skillfully talking the cost and benefits and typical usage of each. I really cannot adequately describe the difference in our experience working with Lynn at Arizona Tile vs the others we visited. I wish I could because it was amazing and if we had not encountered Lynn I am convinced our frustration would have continued. Because of Lynn, Arizona Tile was the last place we looked at tile. We took a couple samples home and the decision was easy. The rest is .. as they say ... history. We finished installing 1450 ft of tile last week. We could not be happier with our tile selection. We are so very thankful we worked with Lynn at Arizona Tile ( maybe I should not call her out by name but she was the one - she was the difference-maker for us and I cannot thank her enough for making our tile selection so easy when the others only added confusion) read more

When did customer service become an endangered species? We are remodeling a bathroom and went to Arizona Tile to get some ideas, ask some questions, and maybe get a materials price estimate. But since we were totally ignored as we strolled around, we finally left. Not even a "Hello! I'll be right with you" from any of the salespeople.
