    Jamison the Tux Cat

If I could give Dr. Erica minus 1000000000000000000000000000 stars, I would. In fact, negative stars are too good for her -- she should be banned from administering any and all future euthanasia services, barred from providing the most rudimentary of veterinary 'care,' and kept at a safe distance -- of at least several time zones -- from even the most callous of pet-owners. Through Ark, I hired Dr. Erica to euthanize my beloved cat today. He's been deceased not even five and a half hours, but instead of mourning him and being present with my grief, I'm writing a fu€king Yelp review. I started writing this review at 9:45pm, but I'm so upset I have to keep stopping to collect myself. From grief? No -- from RAGE. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I can't even GET to my grief because my head is still fully-spinning from one of the most incongruent, hurtful, confusing, gross, disrespectful, hurried, and shocking experiences of my life -- and I've worked in customer service with the unfiltered public for years, have suffered through some of the worst bedside manner imaginable in my own journey to health, and have survived severe and disabling trauma spanning all manner of categories -- so that's saying something[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. It's taken me this long to pull myself together after not only the crushing death of my cat, but to stem the emotional bleed and ferocious psychological injury she's caused. She literally had ONE job to do, and she UTTERLY failed: TO DO NO HARM. I will write tomorrow when I have the strength to enumerate the many concrete and specific examples in which she totally failed not just us, but my cat. For right now, I'll just say: I paid SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS for the absolute WORST treatment by someone I trusted -- to help facilitate what SHOULD have made some of my worst moments on one of the WORST days of my life LESS painful. And if she couldn't do that, which she was HIRED TO DO, she could have at least not made these WORST MOMENTS SO UNBELIEVABLY INSUFFERABLE. -- [[HIGHLIGHT]]And Ark -- if you'd like your fee, a potential resolution of this, and/or for me to remove this review, I recommend NOT RESPONDING to my post until I have come back to edit and finalize it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will be contacting you directly with my complaint in the coming days as I, again like I did today, am forced to figure out how to set aside the grief appropriate and worthy of my situation -- in order to troubleshoot and manage in real-time, the total ineptitude of this vet and the irreparable injury she's caused to my family, to my cat, and to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the interim, and until this is resolved -- if it can be, since I can never go back a second time to send off my beautiful kitten -- I feel the need to warn off other pet owners and fellow 'kahus' to avoid Dr. Erica at ALL COSTS. I was told she is one of the 'best' at Ark, and if this is true, I shudder to think of what the lesser ones provide... [[HIGHLIGHT]]The fact that I am ending this day with not only a soul-destroying grief -- but also a GRIEVANCE with Ark on top of it -- is not just negligent or destructive. It's downright cruel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [It's now 11:50pm, and I am finally finished this draft, after writing and pouring over a dozen before it. I am going to spend the next ten minutes thinking about my cat on the day of his death -- the only place my head and heart should be, and could have been, if what I requested and paid for was actually delivered] Rest in peace, beautiful Jamison. I miss you already. I wanted your departure to be so much better for you, Buddy. You were not treated to what you deserved. Yet, you are so loved -- forever.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]what a great service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The team that came today to give my two cats, their updated shots and then exam was wonderful. I have one cat who does not like to travel. Everything was extremely efficient, friendly, and recently priced. I would recommend this service to anyone that lives in their service area who needs mobile pet care. Matt G

Dr. Puderbaugh was a great Vet and member of the community. Unfortunately, when he retired, the practice was taken over by a corporation and the family/community and personal care aspect has vanished. The overall care is inferior and the pricing is outrageous. As an example, my 21-year old daughter was concerned that her two cats were sick one day because they were throwing up and didn't eat their breakfast. So she called RAH to ask if they needed to be seen. They scared her by telling her that if cats don't eat they will die in short order and they needed to be seen. They were sick for less than a day at that point. She took them in and they told her the bill would be $1,100 to do testing and see if there was something that was causing them to be ill. She declined, but they charged her $500 for basically nothing. They charge two full office visits for two pets being seen at the same time in the same room. They used the same rectal thermometer on two cats without cleaning it. They have stupid signs up about how their staff are suicidal over treatment from the public. We are taking our business to another local vet and I urge others to avoid this practice.

FAH has been our vet clinic since we moved to the area 11 years ago. More than once in emergency…read moresituations we've been glad they're less than 10 minutes from our house, because until a few years ago, the closest emergency clinic was more than half an hour away. Dr. Audrey Karamourtopoulos (she goes by Dr. Audrey for obvious reasons) is the clinic owner and our primary vet. For the longest time she was the only vet there, but over the years other vets have been brought on staff. Dr. Audrey has been a wonderful caretaker for our dogs, and even the occasional foster. She will sit on the floor with a dog and let them give her a facial while she tries to conduct an exam. She is one of the most compassionate people I've ever met. Some people like a vet who is all business, others like the heart-on-sleeve kind. Dr. Audrey is a little bit of both, but leans more towards the latter. Easy to tears, this lady, even more than me. I'm okay with that, I don't feel silly getting sniffly in front of her, or on the phone. She usually beats me to it. She's a skilled surgeon too. She saved the life of our first Rottweiler, who was bloating, which is a life threatening condition. Carl would have died enroute to an ER clinic, but fortunately FAH was open. He recovered really well. We had to go out of town a couple weeks later and did medical board at the clinic just to be sure he had around the clock attention. Because the clinic is attached to Dr. Audrey's home, she is available at all hours. She sat up with our neighbor's dog at 2am while he died in her arms from hemangiosarcoma. FAH has techs on staff 24/7. Unlike some other clinics where animals might be left alone overnight. FAH also does rescues, mostly cats, but occasionally dogs that might be strays and owners not located, or the animals have been surrendered to the clinic. Dr. Audrey is the vet for a local Doberman Pinscher rescue. Like a lot of vets, she's not an advocate for raw feeding. She will try and point out some of what she feels are negatives, but won't try to stop you outright. It's your dog, not hers. We've agreed to disagree, though she has admitted that my dogs are pretty darned healthy overall (even our cancer boy is still on part raw/part kibble and doing great) and have gorgeous coats. Argo came to us with teeth so covered in plaque you could barely see the cusps. No dental done, just some manual scraping to remove the large chunks by a hygienst and a raw diet have really cleaned his teeth up. Dr. Audrey doesn't try to overvaccinate your pets either. She was actually the first person to tell me about titers (blood test to determine antibody levels) when we first met and had a senior dog. Other than rabies, we didn't need to be pumping the poor creature full of the damned things. She often runs late, because she doesn't rush through appointments. Not every situation can be handled in 15 minutes. I may wait an hour to see her, and I'm okay with that. Just take my dog outside for a walk; girls at the front desk will call me in when it's time. Dr. Audrey will spend as much time as you need her to, especially if there are a lot of questions coming up. Lately we've had some communication issues, having to wait longer than I thought was appropriate for a return call on something, but that seems to have been a short lived issue. Hasn't happened again. Drs. Baker and Stephanie are the other current DVMs on staff. Haven't worked much with Dr. Stephanie, but she is more of a small/exotic animal and bird vet. Dr. Baker is a nice gentleman, little more of the reserved, old school type vet. Dr. Audrey was out of town at the time Argo presented with a recurring limp; Dr. Baker caught his bone cancer early. We will be forever grateful for that, as it's given us more time to try different treatments and kept him with us longer than most people get in this situation. He also did a nice job pulling over 200 baby porcupine quills (they're small, soft and hard to find!) from Hannahbelle's feet and mouth recently. Don't ask... She's lucky she's cute!

The pricing was fair for his size and service performed. They were efficient and delicate. I cannot recommend them enough! For a mobile service they are absolutely phenomenal. I know it is hard to find good help, but if you do not like working with animal/animal parents, then go work somewhere else. She basically said they come to your home and give 2 injections (one sedation and one euthanasia) and then leave. Whole procedure take 45 min to 1 hr. When I asked do they help with cremation, she said "if that is what you want, it will cost more".....well of course I would expect that, but at least discuss options. Cold, heartless, lack of compassion. Would not recommend.

I was told it was low because he's a young dog and it would be an easy extraction and the quote had plenty of wiggle room. The day of the procedure I signed the quote and dropped my dog off at 8:00 am and around 1:00 pm I received a call stating everything went good and Otis was waking up but the procedure took a little longer because they had trouble pulling the tooth out. They said it might be slightly higher than the original quote but they would see about discounting it for me and it should not be much more than the $1,200 as quoted. Well, I went to pick him up and the bill came to $2,300 with a $400 discount and no teeth cleaning. Does that sound slightly higher to you? It was double than what we signed off on. I spoke to the manager Jennifer Washburn via the phone who kept making excuses like, you were quoted really low to begin with, if we discount it anymore you will be hurting our other clients, it took much longer than we anticipated, because he's a young dog the tooth was harder to pull,. So at this point I'm pretty upset and told them I'd be disputing my credit card charge if she can't work with me and she says ( just so you know, I've never lost a credit dispute) I am beyond furious at this point and will never use them again. Double the quote is not slightly higher and who's to say they don't do this on purpose to get business. We were also told at the original appointment that to have them save the tooth would be around $2,400 so we decided to have them pull it but now that we paid $2,400 anyways we could have saved the pain and suffering from having it pulled.

I highly recommend Dr.Comeau and his staff and miss them all so much! The saying "you don't know…read morewhat you've got until it's gone" i can seriously say is true! When we lived in NH, Queen City AH was our vet for many years, actually ever since Dr. Comeau took the business over from the original owner. Now in Florida and the vets here dont compare, not even close. We had a goofy but extremely loveable Blue Nose Pitbull named Bullet and I remember Dt. Comeau loved to see him and he would grab his big jaws saying how much he loved him, he cared for him successfully through heartworm which was a very scary treatment and because of Bully's compromised immune system took the time to research everything to make sure it worked to cure him, he also had to deal with Bullys skin condition due to allergies which we never really got a grip on because we ended up moving to Florida and these Vets here are a dime-a-dozen and severely inexperienced with lack of empathy it seems to me anyway for the animals they "try" to treat! About a month ago Bullet was brought into a Clinic here for what seemed like was possibly a respiratory infection but also had a distended abdomen as well a lot of swelling, he wasn't eating hardly and was a bit lethargic, which we related to the possible infection but that dog always took whatever life handed him with his tail still wagging constantly! ... I won't name because it would take away from this great facilities review, (although I'd like to as to save the next persons pet from them) after X-rays and bloodwork which ruled out Melenoma the almost 1yr experienced Vet said nothing alarming to see gave antibiotics and steroids and sent him on his way, he wasn't getting better after a few days and also was now throwing up clear foamy liquid and bile so we brought him back in after the 2nd day she got an opinion from her colleagues most with same little experience as her, now her diagnosis was "Bullet has cancer, but I don't know where it's coming from." and "he only has a few days to live" which was the ONLY thing she was right about sadly 4 weeks ago he lost the fight that he every time under Dr. Comeaus care was able to come out the Champion. He passed away suddenly at home on my bedroom floor let's say you can never prepare yourself for that! I know this is a lot of info for a review but the sad outcome, and hope that Dr. Comeau may read this review to inform him of Bullet passing away, I know how much he loved Bully and also for the review I know under Dr. Comeaus care would NEVER had happened as it did, and I just want to say thank you Dr. Comeau especially, and his Staff, for caring for Bully with so much professionalism and love and we will never find another like you believe me! Anyone reading this review if you could make it through the book that is lol, you have no worries when it comes to this Veterinarian Dr. Comeau is the BEST hands down!
