Maple, holding a place command in Half Moon Bay, CA.
    Alexis L.

Miguel is excellent to work with and is knowledgeable in dog training! I reached out to Miguel via Zoom call and spoke about the history of my dog, Maple, his training, and his household history. I signed up with Miguel for 1-on-1 sessions, and I am so happy that I did. I've learned how to have Maple place, not run out of the house, reduce leash pulling, and reduce Maple's reactivity within the span of 7 months since I started training with Miguel. The weekend group classes help reinforce the training as well. Miguel is very easy to work with, and really explains the methodology of how/why we reinforce the dog. I would definitely reach out to Miguel if you're serious about training your pup!

Our 3 year old mini labradoodle Rocky was showing increasing reactivity towards other dogs while on leash so we decided to sign him up for Miguel's 1 week board and train program. When Rocky came back we could definitely see a huge difference! He has much better leash manners with the "heel" command, and walks with more confidence. A huge difference compared to in the past when he would always be on high alert looking for dogs to bark at. He's also learned the added commands of place, wait, down, and the "break" command. The group classes have been a great way to keep up to date with training Rocky and working on new skills every week! Rocky still has some ways to go but we thank Miguel for putting him on the right track and helping us be able to go on long walks with other dogs around and no lunging/barking :)

Calm as can be at the vet.

I am so thankful to have found Miguel! My rescue dog, Saylor, was extremely reactive on leash and would lose her mind at 100% of the dogs we'd pass outside on walks. It was a frustrating experience for both her and I, and my dreams of taking her places started to diminish after a year of trial and error, experimenting with every dog training technique I could find on YouTube. After the first two sessions with Miguel, I saw unbelievable progress in Saylor's reactivity. We started completing long walks with zero barking and she soon became unphased by other dogs. In addition to that, her overall demeanor became so much calmer, her responsiveness to commands improved, and she started looking at me more frequently for guidance. Saylor is now loose leash walking, visiting outdoor restaurants, and we're living a fuller life together. Miguel is a wonderful trainer who truly understands dogs - it's clear that he loves what he does and loves to celebrate the success of his clients. He is a patient teacher and explains dog behavior in a way that's relatable to humans. The entire process with ArKane 9 exceeded my expectations and was 100% worth the investment for me and my pup!

MIGUEL. IS. AWESOME. He truly loves dogs and his program is well thought out and structured. The difference in our puppy (sakura) has been amazing over just 2 weeks. She was extremely nervous, barking at anything and everything. Today in our last day of the program we did a walk in a busy shopping center. She has so much confidence, wasn't bothered by other dogs, loud noises or all kinds of people walking around...and she was very obedient. He also makes sure to train the owners so they understand the process and how to make sure the training sticks. Miguel has 2 lovely dogs that he uses as part of the program to socialize his students. I absolutely love his little one, named boy. If you are considering getting training for your dog, THIS IS THE TRAINER TO USE

    Well Trainer Pups

Miguel is hands down the best trainer around! Not only does he have compassion for the dogs, but he truly understands what they need to become the best companions. There is no fluff in his training methods, and that has really sped up my dogs learning and obedience. Just so happens he can train owners just as well as dogs too! As a first time dog owner I was absolutely lost with all of this. But with Miguel's patience and my constant questions he has given me the tools to continue his methods of training. All of this allows me and my dog to have the best relationship you could ask for. To show how much he truly cares for the dogs and owners that he works with, he still does his best to respond to my questions even after I've completed the program. Plus the Saturday pack walks with him offer a great tune up for both dog and owner. P.S. He makes a good Santa Paws for the dogs too!

Sal is magic- seriously.... He works magic and he is absolutely wonderful with our puppy! Within the first 5 minutes he has helped us and not only trained our puppy nut trained my husband and I!

    Butler on pack walk

Butler (our goldendoodle) went to Miguel's one week board and train with a few key goals: leash pulling, reactivity, interacting and socialization with other dogs, refresher on commands (sit, down, stay, place, heel, etc.) He came back a week later with much better doggie manners. Of course he's still a work in progress and there are things we continue to work on. What we especially like is the weekly pack walks which provide us continued learning under Miguel's guidance. Butler has come to know Saturday mornings as pack walk day. His favorite day of the week.

Words truly can't explain how thankful I am to have come across ArKane 9 training. I am a first time dog owner and have had Prince since he was 8 weeks old. I always wanted to take him to malls and dog friendly places but he would constantly pull and want to mark everything. He also ran away twice so I lost all trust and had a lot of anxiety just walking him. I decided to have him be trained by Miguel and I am more than happy. Prince has become so obedient, so much calmer, and he gets to enjoy so many new things. He has officially earned back my trust and it brings me to tears. I never thought he would be like this. For anyone looking for a trainer I highly encourage you to go with Miguel. He not only will train your pup but also you to keep it up. I am looking forward to future adventures Prince and I will get to go on all thanks to Miguel!

My family could not thank Miguel enough! What he has done for our pup in just two short weeks will change how we interact with Sam for years to come! We rescued Sam (Black Lab/Hound Mix 50LB) in April of this year, he was 8 months at the time and a little wild but as loving as they come. At first we had basic struggles with him around walking. He would pull us down the street and get overly excited when he saw dogs on a leash...then the excitement turned to aggressive behavior towards dogs on a leash. This became hard to control but we did our best, still unfortunately avoiding training at the time. In July, a family member came to visit and when he came into the house Sam initiated even more aggressive behavior including trying to bite him. When Miguel came to our house on the first day I knew Sam was in amazing hands. Miguel approached training as if it was easy yet made sure I never felt lost during the process. The first day...after 1 hour I could see a difference in Sam. After two weeks it a is night and day difference. Sam waits by the front door to exit the house before leaving, walks in the heal position and responds to his commands during his walks. When he sees other dogs on the streets he is doing an amazing job at ignoring them and continuing his walk. No more pulling, no more aggressive behavior towards dogs on a leash and more importantly Sam seems even more calm and relaxed in the house. Thank you Miguel for all you have done! Mocha at irvine spectrum

Our 8 month old doberman puppy Mocha has been both timid and hyper since we had her at 2 months. Given that her breed is to protect we wanted her to be comfortable with new people and not be so on the defensive, especially around family members. We let Miguel know what her tendencies are and what we would like him to work on with her and what we got back was an upgraded version of our puppy! We couldn't believe it! Before the training, she would constantly pull on our walks, bark at every single person she saw, and couldn't keep attention for more than 5 seconds. We are so happy with the training she got. She knows so many new commands and sticks with them. Miguel elevated her confidence and socialized her, he sent us constant updates and great photos. We appreciate Miguel bringing the best out of our mocha girl. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Miguel has been an amazing trainer for myself and my 9 month old puppy. My puppy had basic obedience, but I needed help as he would get overly excited with people, other dogs, etc. With the breed he is, I wanted to make sure I stay the leader and he does not push his limits towards me or my daughter. Miguel was very patient with me learning, didn't make me feel like I am not a good trainer and kept encouraging me, great with my puppy, and his dogs were just fantastic. He shows up on time, customizes the training based on the dog's level, handler's level, weather, and such. He is just an amazing trainer and person!! Highly recommend his service.

Best dog trainer ever! Lady loved Miguel so much. He educated us so well, we saw a huge change in Lady's leash pulling and obedience. You can tell he truly cares for the dogs. After completing training, we are more confident when we take her to the dog park and I can't wait to continue to learn and grow with my pup!

This is an exercise for Zion to get him out of his comfort zone. These platforms confused and scared Zion at first. Look at him!

Zion, our two-year-old pup, had serious anxiety and insecurity issues, so much so that we were concerned we couldn't help him. In steps Miguel, a kind and patient person who understands all different types of dogs, and is able to tailor his training style to each pup. My fiance and I noticed a difference after the second session, he was sticking next to us and would ignore dogs as they walked past. Soon enough, I started noticing that Zion is more confident outside, and much more well-mannered. Miguel is absolutely the best trainer you can find. Not only is he patient with the dogs, he is patient with the owners as well. It took me a bit to learn some of the words and how to hold the leash, and he was there the whole time to help me. Thanks to Miguel, we are now able to help Zion understand that the world isn't so scary, and to enjoy his time out and about. I swear every training session I thank Miguel a million times because I am still blown away at how far he has come in such a short amount of time. Once again Miguel, THANK YOU!

I met with several trainers before Brad & had little to no success in the areas we needed most, I was exhausted. Now for the first time ever, I can leave him home alone without the overwhelming anxiety and guilt that used to come with it. Our walks are actually enjoyable again, and I feel confident bringing him around friends and into new environments. What I appreciate most is that the training gave me the tools and confidence to understand and communicate with my dog better. I have my freedom back, and Cash is happier and more relaxed because of it. If you're struggling with separation anxiety, behavioral issues, or just want a better relationship with your dog, I can't recommend Brad enough. The impact has been life-changing.

My boyfriend and I took in our cattle dog, Ollie, as a stray almost 4 months ago. Quick background: Ollie was found tied to a fire hydrant outside my work. Ollie is the sweetest boy, however is very reactive to other dogs and is a bundle of energy that presents as endless jumping and nipping. We have a senior Saint Bernard at home in which Ollie has been too rough/aggressive with her, even when our Saint Bernard makes it known that she doesn't want to be bothered. We tried water sprays at home and other attempts at training to no avail. We began to feel helpless as our biggest concern was his relationship with our Saint Bernard, as it got to the point where we felt we had to consider rehoming him. During our session with Brad, we immediately saw results which had us dumbfounded. Like other reviews have mentioned, his technique is not "mean," but is a firm mindset that Ollie requires. All the while, Brad emphasizes when to correct your dog and when to praise him, while stressing the fact that these techniques are not made to scare your dog, but rather establish a leader mentality while simultaneously letting the dog know that you provide love and safety. Of course, like any training, one can only be successful when carrying over these learned techniques at home, but Brad left us feeling confident and ready to continue the work. Even when we got home today, we already had seen a shift from Ollie. As for Brad himself - he is very approachable and really looks to understand both the dog and all the circumstances that come with them. You could really get a sense of how personal he is. We definitely recommend him. Thank you so much, Brad!

Working with Vladae will!…read more We've been working with Vladae for about four months with our now six-and-a-half-month-old Golden Retriever, Coach, and it has been one of the best investments we've made. What sets Vladae apart is that he doesn't just train dogs, he teaches owners how to build a lifelong relationship with them. Every lesson leaves us with practical tools, clear direction, and the confidence to continue the training every single day. Because of that, the progress doesn't stop when the session ends. Vladae has an incredible ability to understand dogs. Watching him read a dog's behavior, body language, and mindset is genuinely fascinating. He knows exactly how to communicate with each dog in a way they understand, and it's clear this comes from years of experience and a deep understanding of canine psychology. He's also one of the most invested professionals we've ever worked with. Throughout the week, he encourages us to send videos, provides thoughtful feedback almost immediately, and is always available to answer questions or jump on a call if we need guidance. You never feel like you're figuring things out on your own. He truly cares about both the dogs and the people raising them, and he always follows through. Every recommendation Vladae has made, whether it's training tools, techniques, or daily routines, has become an essential part of Coach's development. We trusted the process from day one, and the results truly speak for themselves. (See the videos! Coach is only 6.5 months old in them.) Our puppy is happy, confident, well-mannered, and genuinely loves learning. We receive compliments on his behavior everywhere we go, and we owe so much of that to the foundation Vladae helped us build. We also had the opportunity to work with Erica, who trains alongside Vladae, and she was absolutely wonderful. One session with Erica is included in the program, and it was incredibly helpful. It's clear she shares the same passion, knowledge, and dedication that make this training program so special. Vladae brings unmatched energy, professionalism, and passion to every session. He genuinely wants every dog and every owner to succeed, and that level of commitment is incredibly rare to find. If you're looking for a trainer who truly understands dogs and is committed to setting both you and your dog up for long-term success, I can't recommend Vladae highly enough. Coach has become an incredible puppy, and we're excited to continue into adult school because of the foundation he's helped us build. We're so grateful we found him!

Last year, we brought them frequently and always felt confident leaving them there. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the facility felt clean, and our dogs always seemed happy to be there. That's why it's so disappointing to see how much things have changed since the ownership transition. Since the change in ownership, we've noticed a significant decline in the overall experience. The staff no longer feels as friendly or approachable. While there are still a few kind employees, several team members come across as cold and unhelpful, making drop-off feel uncomfortable and even a bit intimidating. It no longer feels like the warm, welcoming environment it once was. We've also noticed the facility doesn't seem nearly as clean as it used to be. Our dogs consistently come home smelling strongly of urine after daycare. We occasionally check the live cameras throughout the day and frequently see urine sitting on the playroom floors for extended periods before being cleaned up. If messes in the common play areas are left unattended, it raises concerns about how often the kennels are being cleaned when the dogs are resting. Combined with the odor our dogs come home with, it has made us question the overall cleanliness of the facility. Another noticeable change is how little time our dogs now seem to spend in the play areas. We'll pay for a half-day of daycare, and by the time we pick them up, we're lucky if they've spent more than 30 minutes interacting with other dogs. The majority of their visit appears to be spent kenneled. We choose daycare because we want our dogs to have a safe, clean environment where they can socialize and play. If they're spending most of their visit in a kennel, it's difficult to justify paying for daycare when they could be comfortably resting at home in a cleaner environment for free. Customer service has also become frustrating. Recently, one of our dogs came home without his collar. We didn't realize it until we got home, so we called the facility and were told someone would call us back because they were too busy at the moment. We never received a callback. After calling several more times over the next few days without getting an answer, we ultimately had to drive to the facility ourselves just to ask about and retrieve the collar. Pickup has also become much slower than it used to be, often requiring a long wait before our dogs are brought out. We're genuinely disappointed because we loved this location for a long time and trusted the team with our pets. Unfortunately, since the ownership change, we've experienced a noticeable decline in cleanliness, customer service, and the overall level of care. We hope these concerns are taken seriously because we'd love to see this location return to the high standard that made us loyal customers in the first place.

We never felt rushed to finish a lesson when he came to the house, he just dealt with our issues and reminded us to keep practicing with our dog until next time. We even decided to enroll in his weekly puppy class so that our puppy would learn to behave around other dogs. His private dog park is a god-send as we live in a condo and don't have a yard for our puppy to play in. She loved going there and we'll be back! We highly recommend Tommy. He showed us how to anticipate what our puppy was going to do before she did it and correct her misdeeds before they take place. Five stars!

He is very relatable and has a unique way of teaching that is very enjoyable and actually entertaining, all at the same time! Now that is talent! Tommy was made for this job and well worth his price. You get what you pay for. He definitely does not watch the clock and gives you more than 1 hr and does not leave until he has answered all your questions. My dog is already doing better on our walks. Tommy teaches but you have to do what he says or you have wasted your money. I signed up for 5 lessons and looking forward to the rest. I will update when we are finished.

She was attacked by a much smaller dog ever since she goes crazy whenever we see another dog. I found a, "Highly Recommended" Dog trainer online according his website. After 3 sessions with him, his advice was to punch my dog in the face and head until she worried more about me than other dogs. As you can imagine that did not work and we stopped going. I started calling around to other trainers I found online but nobody wanted to work with such a big aggressive dog. One trainer referred me to Tony. After talking with Tony and watching his webinar he referred us to Xavier who from the first 15 minutes had my dog sitting down calmly and accepting directions. I can't speak highly enough for how professional results oriented both Tony and Xavier have been. We were considering returning her back to the breeder before meeting Tony and Xavier. Thank you both so very much!

Just wanted to let everyone know, how AMAZING this group is!…read more Our Kat (Katerina) is a 70 lbs golden retriever that when she sees something she goes full throttle. At first, I was a little apprehensive about leaving her for a full week. My visions of the ASPCA commercial were playing in the back of my head. But when we arrived, Chris, Ryan (our trainer), and Bill were eagerly awaiting our arrival. I voiced my concerns; they gave me a tour of the kennel - none of the dogs were crying or barking. All were well behaved. It didn't smell like a kennel, it had A/C. When they stay overnight, your suppose to pack their food in individual servings. They asked if they don't eat, would it be ok, if they added broth or chicken pieces to their meals. Feeling that they were really concerned about our pets well being, I had no hesitation of leaving our baby girl with them. After a week apart, she was so excited to see us. I learned the rules, and she has been so great, no more pulling and makes eye contact with us anxiously awaiting direction! We returned two weeks later for a refresher (mainly on me). We are excited to start group classes. If we were to ever get another dog, their would be no hesitation on scheduling a training with SIT Means SIT.
