Happy Pickles in a group class!

Clickstart is incredible! Our two year-old pitty has come such a long way since we started working with them when he was just a small pup. We started by taking group classes with Liv and Nick, then we did some private lessons with Alex and Amanda, and most recently we've worked with Cassie and Michael. I can wholeheartedly recommend every single one of these instructors! They're all knowledgeable, patient, and our dog LOVES them, which is really the best test :)

I've taken two classes through Clickstart and can't recommend them more! Cassie and Liv are both so knowledgeable and compassionate. They care deeply about animal wellbeing and using positive reinforcement in their classes. I was going through some medical issues with my dog along with reactivity and fear or strangers. By the time we finished the first course, he was able to take treats from others and has building his confidence ever since. I never felt judged or that I was doing something wrong and truly can't thank all of the trainers enough for their empathy. Ollie had so much fun every class and I hope to take many more class with them!

I learned about Clickstart Dog Training from my neighbor who has a dog that has been through several of their obedience classes. I was admiring how well behaved her Doodle dog is and I asked her where she is taking her dog for training. She told me about Clickstart offering a variety of group and personal training. Then the city I live in (Aliso Viejo) offered an obedience classe conducted by two trainers from Clickstart. I signed up my Doodle puppy and I was so impressed by the knowledge and kindness of trainers Cassie and Annie. My puppy is hyper like most Doodles, but she learned a lot and she benefited from the group classes by having to do commands with the distraction of having other dogs and people around. I am now planning on enrolling her into another group class at their facility in Lake Forest. I also plan on signing her up for agility classes and maybe some personal training to address specific issues that she is dealing with. I highly recommend this training facility for training because they use only positive reinforcement during training. I raise puppies for Guide Dogs of America and Clickstart teaches many of the same commands and techniques that Guide Dogs of America uses.

My service dog in-training (Noodle) and I have been working with Liv before we even picked him up! It's been nearly a year, and this review is so overdue. Today is his first birthday! We met Liv for the first time 1 week prior to make sure we have everything set up, and been taking private classes with them for about 6-8 months to get all of our basics in, and only recently slowed down to every other week or so to allow more time for us to train on our own in between sessions. I have been following Liv and their dog on Instagram since they got Mouse, and I have just been so inspired by them. From the get go, Liv suggested a series of foundational skills, such as settle and chin rest, which were extremely helpful to keep our sanity intact as Noodle got older and became more rambunctious at times! We never specifically trained "obedience". Rather, we were taught to focus on skills that will help Noodle to live comfortably and harmoniously in a human-centric world. In our first weeks working together, we were given a list of recommended books to help Noodle become emotionally resilient and to prevent separation anxiety. We were taught to train Noodle to breathe when he is overly excited, to get in a down position or to sit when we no longer want to engage in his play. For every challenge we have, Liv always had a solution. With all that, though we obviously at some very difficult moments, we overall had a very very pleasant experience raising our puppy, or one what most people would call "obedient", but really just a dog that is emotionally regulated, calm and taught skills that set them up for success. What is more impressive to me, is that none of this is done with harsh techniques. Liv practices force-free and positive reinforcement techniques only, meaning we give lots of positive associations like treats and praises when something goes well. In our year of having Noodle, I can count with less than 5 fingers the number of times I've yelled at Noodle and it was only because he was playing a bit too rough and accidentally hurt me (totally understandable and age-appropriate). We never used any physical punishment. Liv always made sure to sprinkle fun and humor in all of our trainings - mix in spins and twirls with boring settles and practice teeth brushing and giving lots of treats to keep things exciting and light hearted. Some people have seen me train Noodle and were like "wow he gets a treat for doing everything!", I mean, don't you get paid for doing anything? Sometimes when Noodle is a max toddler mode, force free is admittedly not the fastest way to end the chaos, but I would choose prioritizing my dog's happiness over my own convenience any time - and this is also something Liv exemplified over and over with their own dog and through their ways of training. Moreoever, Liv is concerned about our dog's wellbeing outside of being a "good dog". Liv taught us Cooperative Care, which is practicing going to the vet, and working at your dog's pace to make things like nail trimming, ear cleaning, and even injections a game. This was a concept that was new to me but makes so much sense. It is a lot of work and time, but in all worth it if you prioritize your dog being comfortable in uncomfortable scenarios. In all, thank you SO much Liv for being in our lives, for helping Noodle grow into the best version of himself, and for inspiring us to be better humans!

Clickstart is amazing! I adopted two reactive 3 year olds (bonded pair) from a shelter last January. I did the reactive rover class and then continued with a few private sessions to practice meeting neutral dogs in a controlled setting. The girls have made so much progress! Cassie and Liv are super knowledgeable and you can tell they are passionate about what they do

    Charlie now 4

I worked with Clickstart Dog Academy to train my doodle, Charlie. I'll be honest--I was not the easiest client. I had very high expectations, and I wanted to see progress quickly. They gently reminded me several times that with doodles (and many dogs in general), the real results don't fully show until they grow and mature, usually around a year old. At the time, I didn't fully understand what they meant, but I do now--and they were absolutely right. Charlie is now four years old, and she is truly the best-trained dog I've ever had. The obedience, the focus, the recall, and even the emotional regulation she has in new environments--it's all there. The training they provided didn't just "work," it lasted. I find myself still noticing things they instilled in her, years later. Looking back, I wish I would have trusted the process more and appreciated what they were saying from the beginning. Being a doodle owner can come with a lot of energy, emotion, and trial-and-error. But Clickstart really knew what they were doing. They saw who Charlie would grow into, not just who she was in the moment. Their professionalism, patience, and ability to understand both the dog and the owner truly sets them apart. I'm very grateful for the foundation they gave Charlie. If you're considering training, especially if you have a doodle, I highly recommend them. They know their craft, and the results speak for themselves. Anywhere I take Charlie she's the best behaved. She listens to every command intently. The most surprising part is my time...it was so limited, and yet they managed to create an environment to make this easier on me. I'm telling you, if you want good dog trainers, these are the ones. You'll be blessed to have them. Thank you- all of you for your patience's with me (especially me ) and your excellent training with Charlie!

Our dog, Baloo, has had a fair bit of private training, but we were looking to brush up his skills and really wanted to attend group classes to work on his skills around other dogs (He'd actually never done group classes before). I am in love with Clickstart's positive training philosophy. The keep things light and low stress on everyone (dogs and people). We've done 2 courses so far (High School and College). Baloo just finished college and PASSED his Canine Good Citizenship test on the first try! We are so proud of our boy! Clickstart is a great way improve our relationship with our dog and honestly a good excuse to get out of the house. We'll probably continue to take Clickstart courses until we run out. Lucky for us we still have Masters, PhD, Patio Puppy and more courses to take! See you guys soon!

Highly recommend the trainers and classes at Clickstart. Our dog, Tobi, has taken classes at Clickstart since he was a puppy. He's completed kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and the canine essentials sequence. Tobi loves going to the classes. The trainers are knowledgeable, conscientious, and overall amazing. Thanks to their training sessions and feedback, Tobi learned many useful behaviors, commands, and boundaries. I firmly believe the kindergarten classes made Tobi a well-adjusted, socialized dog. He learned how to safely socialize with other dogs, how to explore new objects and environments, and how to exhibit good behavior. When Tobi's been around puppies and dogs that haven't had training, it's very apparent how much he's benefited from Clickstart's training. We, as dog parents, have also learned so much about dog behavior and how to deal with tricky situations. We can't wait to enroll Tobi in high school (and hopefully have him earn his PhD). Thank you Cassie, Liv, Nick, and Michael for your expertise and guidance!

Clickstart is such a fun place to build not only a strong relationship with your dog but also their skills too! Their approach is science based and the staff are not only highly trained but continue to learn and stay up to date. Finding a good, responsible, and kind trainer is challenging, and I am confident Clickstart found most of them! We started coming here when we brought our puppy home. Their kindergarten is so fun and they take every precaution including making sure you step in a disinfectant when you come in. It is so challenging to socialize your puppy and keep them safe during the time they aren't fully vaccinated and Clickstart's puppy kinder is second to none. We have had the opportunity to continue training in their "elementary", "middle" and "high school". All of which have taught our "social butterfly" golden pup all that he needs to know, and in a very fun and engaging way. We have also taken to some of their extracurricular with both our pup and our older dog. They have both had a blast and get SO excited to see the trainers. I cannot say enough kind things and recommend them to anyone I meet. We can't wait to continue our training with them and continue the fun! Thank you, Clickstart staff (literally everyone) for all that you have done for us and all the pups that are lucky enough to meet yall.

Clickstart is truly all positive reinforcement and will provide the best environment for your dog to learn. (I tried another R+ trainer before this and it was a complete waste of my money.) Liv, Amanda, and Cassie will take the time to get to know you and your dog and find the best plan of action to make it a successful experience for everyone involved. I am and always will be forever grateful for them and Clickstart. The time they have taken with us both is beyond what I would've expected from our very private in our house. I was so excited when they were able to open their own storefront with space for classes. We have joined in on great classes and rented out the space to celebrate on a few occasions. This year we hosted Stitch's birthday party for a few friends and both Liv and Michael went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and having a great time. I have learned so much about overall dog behavior and health as well as how to do CPR even thanks to their amazing classes. I highly recommend any of their classes to dog parents. The trainers here are the only ones I would trust with my dog. She did the camp sessions where they picked her up for a few hours each day to really work with her on everything we wanted her to learn and I was never worried about her. I only have left her with a few people but the trainers at Clickstart I would always trust! This year they even had photos with Santa where all dogs got their own time and got to be comfortable and they work with local shelters giving donations and free sessions. Thank you to the entire Clickstart team for all they do for us and the community!

I met with several trainers before Brad & had little to no success in the areas we needed most, I was exhausted. Now for the first time ever, I can leave him home alone without the overwhelming anxiety and guilt that used to come with it. Our walks are actually enjoyable again, and I feel confident bringing him around friends and into new environments. What I appreciate most is that the training gave me the tools and confidence to understand and communicate with my dog better. I have my freedom back, and Cash is happier and more relaxed because of it. If you're struggling with separation anxiety, behavioral issues, or just want a better relationship with your dog, I can't recommend Brad enough. The impact has been life-changing.

Like many reviews have mentioned, we too were skeptical about seeing results within one in-person…read moresession. Nonetheless, we are so happy we found Brad! My boyfriend and I took in our cattle dog, Ollie, as a stray almost 4 months ago. Quick background: Ollie was found tied to a fire hydrant outside my work. Ollie is the sweetest boy, however is very reactive to other dogs and is a bundle of energy that presents as endless jumping and nipping. We have a senior Saint Bernard at home in which Ollie has been too rough/aggressive with her, even when our Saint Bernard makes it known that she doesn't want to be bothered. We tried water sprays at home and other attempts at training to no avail. We began to feel helpless as our biggest concern was his relationship with our Saint Bernard, as it got to the point where we felt we had to consider rehoming him. During our session with Brad, we immediately saw results which had us dumbfounded. Like other reviews have mentioned, his technique is not "mean," but is a firm mindset that Ollie requires. All the while, Brad emphasizes when to correct your dog and when to praise him, while stressing the fact that these techniques are not made to scare your dog, but rather establish a leader mentality while simultaneously letting the dog know that you provide love and safety. Of course, like any training, one can only be successful when carrying over these learned techniques at home, but Brad left us feeling confident and ready to continue the work. Even when we got home today, we already had seen a shift from Ollie. As for Brad himself - he is very approachable and really looks to understand both the dog and all the circumstances that come with them. You could really get a sense of how personal he is. We definitely recommend him. Thank you so much, Brad!

Working with Vladae will!…read more We've been working with Vladae for about four months with our now six-and-a-half-month-old Golden Retriever, Coach, and it has been one of the best investments we've made. What sets Vladae apart is that he doesn't just train dogs, he teaches owners how to build a lifelong relationship with them. Every lesson leaves us with practical tools, clear direction, and the confidence to continue the training every single day. Because of that, the progress doesn't stop when the session ends. Vladae has an incredible ability to understand dogs. Watching him read a dog's behavior, body language, and mindset is genuinely fascinating. He knows exactly how to communicate with each dog in a way they understand, and it's clear this comes from years of experience and a deep understanding of canine psychology. He's also one of the most invested professionals we've ever worked with. Throughout the week, he encourages us to send videos, provides thoughtful feedback almost immediately, and is always available to answer questions or jump on a call if we need guidance. You never feel like you're figuring things out on your own. He truly cares about both the dogs and the people raising them, and he always follows through. Every recommendation Vladae has made, whether it's training tools, techniques, or daily routines, has become an essential part of Coach's development. We trusted the process from day one, and the results truly speak for themselves. (See the videos! Coach is only 6.5 months old in them.) Our puppy is happy, confident, well-mannered, and genuinely loves learning. We receive compliments on his behavior everywhere we go, and we owe so much of that to the foundation Vladae helped us build. We also had the opportunity to work with Erica, who trains alongside Vladae, and she was absolutely wonderful. One session with Erica is included in the program, and it was incredibly helpful. It's clear she shares the same passion, knowledge, and dedication that make this training program so special. Vladae brings unmatched energy, professionalism, and passion to every session. He genuinely wants every dog and every owner to succeed, and that level of commitment is incredibly rare to find. If you're looking for a trainer who truly understands dogs and is committed to setting both you and your dog up for long-term success, I can't recommend Vladae highly enough. Coach has become an incredible puppy, and we're excited to continue into adult school because of the foundation he's helped us build. We're so grateful we found him!
