Ron John was such an amazing guide!! He took just my dad and I on a noon trip in a small boat and it was so epic! As someone who's never rafted before and went through class 4's and the instructions we received were clear and overall it was such a fun trip

This is my tenth season rafting with Arkansas River Tours. They are one of the four original outfitters on the Arkansas and their experience shows- I wouldn't even consider using another outfitter. I feel safe and equipped every time I'm out on the water with ART. This is the highest water l've experienced thus far. The safety talk was thorough and detailed- and always entertaining. (I've come to look forward to and expect the jokes. Please keep them coming.) We even pulled the bus over for a moment for the guides to assess one of the more technical rapids of the day. There was an air of seriousness. But ART is serious about safety so that we can have SERIOUS fun on the river. I must give a shout-out to our guide Jesus. This was the second time I've rafted with him this season. He is a talented and gifted guide. He knows his craft and is able to quickly train his crew on how to paddle effectively and together. He safely positioned us into places on fairly calm water that allowed us to experience things the boat might do later in the trip, such as a tube suck, so we could be prepared. He also took time to explain upcoming rapids and which path we wanted to take and why... and also what side of the river we should try to swim to if we found ourselves outside of the boat and needing to be an active participant in our rescue.  But I must note that we didn't have any "swimmers" on this trip. I felt confident in Jesus' skills and training. He is joyful, enthusiastic and fun... so so much fun.  I've never had so much fun with a guide. He always positioned us to safely have the best and biggest time on the river. It was a blast.  He pointed out fun rock formations and shared a ton of local history during calm water. It was such an engaging and interesting trip. We even spotted the cutest baby bighorn sheep at one of our rest points on the Gorge. Cold cuts are always more delicious after a morning of paddling and the guides kindly prepared lunch. The table cloth was a nice touch. Two River Runner boats joined us through the Gorge. I love how kind, courteous, and respectful ART is to everyone on the river. They are true leaders in the industry. I will continue to raft with them for as long as they are on the river and hopefully I will get to paddle with Jesus again. Remember, you can never overtip your guide! Request Jesus. He guides every part of the river.  Big water! Big fun!

We loved Arkansas River Tours! For some of the people in our group, this was our first time rafting the Arkansas River and our guide, "E-man", made it a great experience for all of us. He had amazing knowledge of the River and lots of experience, which helped us all to feel safe and have lots of fun. Our group did the full day tour and we enjoyed the lunch break, which included wonderful food prepared by our guides (it was even suitable for the vegans of our group). The best part of the tour was the second half - rafting The Gorge! When we returned to the office, we loved reviewing the action packed photos of our group on the rapids and were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price of the photo package available. I highly recommend Arkansas River Tours and E-man if you are looking for a great adventure down the Arkansas River!

The half day, white water rafting tour was SO much fun for our family of 7. All the guides were very, very personable and knowledgeable about what needed to be done to be safe and have a good time. Sam was a lot of fun.

This was the highlight of our trip to Colorado! We did the cottonwood family tour and it was absolutely perfect for my diverse age range of kiddos. Ethan was the best tour guide ever. He was funny and knowledgeable and kept us safe and having fun! I would 10/10 recommend to any family visiting the area! Sabrina also captured the best picture ever of my group! Worth every penny! Only thing i would have done different was to bring my cell phone to take pictures, maybe in some sort of water proof case because the views were incredible! Thank you A.R.T!

Taylor was an amazing guide on this river. Very knowledgeable about the area. They went over the rules & safety was #1.

We had so much fun being together and with our guides, Pam, Alfredo, and Erica. They were super professional and lots of fun. The rafting trip was a combination of relaxation, sightseeing, and white knuckle excitement. I highly recommend Echo Canyon and make sure you ask for Pam who was just perfect with our group. Everything was taken care of and it was a super memorable experience.

Guide of All Time. Funny, knowledgeable, calm in the chaos, and somehow knew both river facts and dad jokes. He could lead a TED Talk on how to have a good time on water. It was our family of four (two adults, two kids -- 12 and 15, professional eye-rollers) plus another awesome family we met on the raft. Total strangers at first, river besties by lunch. Echo Canyon clearly knows how to pair people up -- no drama, just good vibes and shared paddling trauma bonding. The river itself? Just enough rapids to make us scream-laugh, plus plenty of chill spots where we could float, swim, or yeet ourselves off rocks like majestic river creatures. It was basically summer camp, adrenaline edition. Speaking of lunch: we expected, like, a soggy sandwich and a dream. What we got was a deluxe box lunch -- huge, delicious, and teen-boy approved (which is saying something). Energy fully restored. We were ready to conquer the next round of splashes. By the end of the day, we were soaked, sun-drenched, mildly sore, and so happy. JP made the whole experience feel like a guided nature documentary with more laughs and fewer khakis. Book the trip. Ask for JP. Make friends on the raft. Eat the lunch. Jump in the river. Live your best life.

From the customer service we received before ever showing up to the clear and concise instructions prior to launch, and the expert leadership on the water, all of it culminated into a confident and absolutely exhilarating trip for our entire family. The anxious hesitation some of us arrived with was soon washed away by Lawrence who was an amazing guide. His expertise and leadership which was blended with a quiet confidence and deeply personal approach immediately made us all feel like he was a close friend of the family. Shout out to Lawrence! You're the man! As for the time on the water, the scenery is something you will never forget. From the wildlife, the towering Gorge walls, the passing train along the ridge, and every approaching rapid it all leaves a visual impression that you will be hard pressed to forget. Some rapids were more challenging than others, but I would encourage you to always stay locked in as I let my guard down on a low level rapid and almost went overboard. Speaking of overboard, one of our favorite parts of the trip was the swimming part of the trip. Our whole outfit pulled over, and we were allowed to take a refreshing dip in the river. Climbing onto the bank and taking a plunge from a natural high dive, otherwise known as a giant rock hovering the river. What a great time! Don't sleep on the pictures offered at the end of the trip. They are worth every penny! And be sure to grab some Lost Paddle Rafting souvenirs before you leave. They have a great selection of stickers for your cooler, hats, t-shirts, and hoodies. Thank you to the whole Lost Paddle Rafting team! Y'all gave us a trip we will forever remember.

They have a cute little shop for souvenirs. We ended up in Bighorn because of water levels in the Gorge and hopefully we can go back next year because that is what my daughter wants to do. We had Kelly and Trent. It was his first day on the Colorado as Clear Creek is all but closed as well because of the drought. We got to swim and push my daughter out of the boat and a splash battle with the other boats. They take pictures on the river. They do it all.
