I did purchase an Edra Standard sofa from Arkitektura in late 2021. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon in later April this year, would like to collect some information about Edra Cicladi table. My previous sales was not there anymore, instead, Hiro hosted me immediately although she was expecting another customer with an appointment but not shown yet. She was patient and answered all my questions, also prepared coffees for me and my friends. I bought an italian sectional sofa 15 years ago from a now-defunct San Francisco furniture store. In moving, I lost a specialized nylon clamp that held the two sections together, and they have been moving around independently since. I tracked down the manufacturer and found it was now represented by Arkitecktura. I called them and explained the problem to Allister Fong, who said he would look into it. He hounded the manufacturer in Italy through the holiday season and today gave me two of the clamps (in case I lose another one) for FREE. Never ever go to this place. I don't have the patience for a full recap, but needless to say it took _months_ to order some pendants. What?! Oh to start with they were floor models they had in their showroom! Why? Well they never returned emails, always promised to have things to us by a certain date and never did, and would make excuses like "I have 70 emails in my inbox." And? You had to 1.5 weeks to reply, and past self-imposed deadlines!!! So many excuses. Worst of all, is when it became clear that they had precut the electrical cables too short on most and we had to order new ones. They agreed in person on a discounted price based on ylighting, and then eventually reneged (of course again weeeks later). The manager had the audacity to tell me they don't honor verbal commitments! Hello those are legally binding!!! I wish I had the time to take them to small claims over it because they infuriated me just that much. F this place!!!! read more

My husband and I have had and continue to have a fantastic experience at this beautiful store. I come in and browse all the time - in fact I must have come in about 5 times before deciding to order lighting from them. Everyone who I have ever worked with is friendly, low key and easy to communicate with. And yes they are busy but they always make time to help. In the past I worked with a gentleman who helped us to order a usm file cabinet. The lead time for that (back in 2014) was quite long and it was not cheap, but that piece has been so amazing for us we plan to order another item from the same brand this November due to its impeccable quality and elegant look. I've worked most extensively with Joy who is amazing and feels like a friend, and also with Christina who is great too. I'm not sure what these other reviews are about, sounds totally contrary to my experience and totally odd. I think it's unfair to put a low review just because their price points are often quite high. Also if you are looking for discount products this is simply not the place to buy. If you want to order a Minotti piece it's going to be at a higher cost and you know what? The quality will be impeccable. Same with the other brands they carry. When I first came in and was looking at one sofa, Joy did a rendering for me based on my space, and even when I decided to buy a discounted floor sample of the same brand online (it was too good to pass up) they continued to be awesome to work with. The lighting designer Sklo is who I ended up ordering a couple of pieces from. The lead time was shorter than quoted and I had excellent customer service throughout the process. The lights in my space are phenomenal. We are now in the process of ordering a Minotti lounge chair and foot stool. I love this place!! read more

Despite the supply chain issues due to Covid 19 related to the manufacturing process in Italy and the consequent delays in the trans-ocean transport, Joy kept us up to date on every step along the way.There were complications related to the delivery of the multi-sectional sofa to our home in Northern Sonoma. Joy went way above and beyond in her customer service to help us coordinate the delivery and ensure the delivery costs were appropriate. Wow!! Talk about a hidden treasure! Just across the street from Bed, Bath and Beyond, and almost under EQ3 is Arkitektura. Stylish, fun and functional! I LOVE the back-slit sinks on the second floor. Oh yes, it will be mine! The first floor also has a plethora of interesting furniture/art items. The Kitchen room is very well setup and carefully walks the line between commercial kitchen and home. The staff seemed fairly invisible, or rather thought I was. They hustled about, never speaking, even when almost bumping into me coming up the stairs. Strange. I had to repeatedly chase after their installer for my USM installation of two offices, whom won't answer my phone calls nor Arkitektura's 03. All kinds of elements were missing in my USM order and I have the pleasure of repeating (02) above. 04. Takes forever for them to return any custom order quotes (weeks) 05. Doesn't have a clue when my shipment was shipped, in customs etc. Repeatedly giving me wrong dates. The staff is incompetent, the store's process of purchase to installation is as smooth as an earthquake. Its so awful I'm buying from LA and Vegas rather than with their family of stores. My husband and I made an appointment to look at a USM Haller modular unit. We had the strangest time at the showroom. We went over color, dimensions, lead time, etc during the 20% off sale. The associate we were working with was rushing us the entire consultation (mind you, it was not close to closing time) and was not thorough in writing down all the details of what we were looking for. We were ready to purchase that day and asked if we needed to make a deposit, but she rushed us out and kept saying "you must have somewhere to be" as we patiently sat at her desk confused. Over 2 weeks later we received not one follow up phone call, email, nothing. It is amazing how many people believe in what is printed without having all of the facts. You must first always do the research first before believing what others have to say. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and you must experience something for yourself before you believe in what you have read. People love to be the first one to critique and slander someone's name, but you must always back it up with facts. I was SO surprised with the experience that we had encountered, that I had to write something about Arkitektura to inform others that what you read isn't always the truth. In this case, it was so far from the truth...... Our experience in this showroom was a relaxing BUT enjoyable one. We were greeted by several people and were informed that when we were ready; they would be ready to answer whatever questions that we might have. We were looking for several things (sofas, kitchen table and dining chairs) and we came across several items that were very interesting. We were immediately informed that there was an upcoming "SALE" and that those items would be available "off of the floor" OR that we would be able to order any item and receive the sale price......what better service can you ask for? I can't. So, we went back to the showroom again last week and our salesperson kept to the same promise-to honor the sale pricing early. The 2 of us were totally shocked. We made our purchase this time and we feel totally confident in our decision and this is our "NEW" place to shop. We visited this arkitektural in-situ furniture store to look for something unique for our dinning room, they have nice Italian furniture, low key, elegant and not weird, nice but not fantastic nor ground-breaking. A dinning table by the front is regularly $21,000, now on sale for $10,000. Gives you an idea what price range they are. A round dinner table interested my wife, reg. $10,000, floor sample sale is $6,500. "Are the chairs included?" "of course not, $1,500 each. The set we looked at is $15,500. As my wife asked further questions, such as where they are made, what materials, etc.. the salesman never stood up, just looked at his computer and never really look at us or talk to us, wasn't really interested in offering much data. I wondered off and asked a lady about another dinning set, she said you are talking to another guy, you ask him. I don't understand it, is it fashionable to be rude and arrogant? what kind of style is it to be rude? or not professional? does it happened by chance all 3 people working there were raised to be rude and ill-mannered? or they are trained by the company to be such. they have wonderful, lovely things. a showroom of coveted design for all your mid-century modern whims. but i found the sales staff's "family-esque team" a little too clique-ish. my wife & i visited a couple of times with lists of things we wanted & ideas we wanted to discuss. but each time we stood around as they all chatted about club hopping & street fairs, hang-overs & boys, days off & weekends rather than assist us...hell, they didn't even *acknowledge* us. each time we waited patiently as they laughed & cackled, oohed & awwed over their lives *outside* of work & never so much as gained the token "may i help you?" or even so much as a second glance. when i did have the temerity to interrupt i was told outright about product lead-times & the virtual unavailability of their many items. here's a tip: nothing kills a sale faster than telling a customer the manufacturer can't fulfill orders in a timely fashion. guess what, you're the business end of that time-honored, old-school craftsmanship & it's your responsibility to find a way to fulfill the customers' demand. we took our money to a competitor & found what we wanted...inventory, availability, & (most importantly) service! which arkitektura in-situ wholly failed to deliver. read more

I was super excited when I found a vanity/cabinet set for my home. It fit the style of my new bathroom perfectly. I've always loved their furniture and often wished I could walk in and just leave with all the items that they carry! That was until I went to have the vanity hardware installed. My plumber recently came to install the faucet drains that were supplied. He's stated (and showed me) that the faucet drains will not fit the type of sink sold with the vanity. I called Arkitektura with this information and was flatly told it was not their problem. To me when you're spending this kind of money at a high end furniture store as they appear to be, I would have at least deserved a phone call versus a one liner saying "not my problem". The faucet drains were a tiny fraction of the cost of the overall sale... I'm sincerely disappointed as I won't ever be able to set foot in the store again and by the looks of a few other posts, others have had similar experiences. Beware! read more

While some prices and lead times might give you pause, you need to get out to other showrooms and really take a hard look at what your "alternatives" are. Arkitektura-In Situ is the spot for Fritz Hansen in the city. Much like Limn, and to a smaller extent DWR, Arkitektura stages the showroom in way that can't help a modernist buy something. However, in my experience thus far, you need not spend a fortune to get a deal at Arkitektura. I found them through a friend and was impressed by the service from the get go. My sales person (ask for Alexi - she rocks) was on point every step of the way so far. I've even received the rare after purchase follow up e-mail - kudos! That said, I plan on going back for some more "accessories" once my new love seat arrives. Given the experience deepa s. had below, I'll update my review in the future - for those interested. ::::October 2007 Update:::: Sadly...much like deepa s., I experienced a painfully sad display of customer service post-sale when my sales rep left the company before my "delivery date." I've tried this place a couple of times and am amazed at how poor the service is given the prices of the furniture they sell. Now I'm really excited because a friend told me I have a much cheaper alternative online (keep reading and you'll get the web address below!). I've had multiple bad experiences. I once tried to place an order during one of their semi-annual sales but the sales person was too "busy" to place the order while I was there and said she would do it later. Never happened. I'm sure that was because I was "only" ordering 2 bedside tables at a total cost of less than $8k (still - $8k!). For some reason I decided to try again during the next sale and this time they took the order - perhaps because I added a sideboard and the total ran up to just over $24k. You would think if I'm spending that much I'd get top notch service, quick return of phone calls, etc. But you would be wrong. First, as you might expect from ordering Italian furniture, the order took over 16 weeks to arrive. But then I was surprised to learn that there would be an additional fee for me to just pick up the items - no, not have them delivered (I'd expect to pay extra for that) - but you have to pay extra JUST TO PICK UP WHAT YOU ALREADY PAID FOR (it's called a "will call fee".) They dump off responsibility for delivery to a 3rd party warehouse (which itself rarely calls you back and provides terrible service) and that 3rd party charges a handling fee, regardless of if they delivery to you or if you want to pick it up. It's all a real shame because I love the style of furniture. And up to now I thought I didn't have a choice. But I Do!! Here's the secret - www.mohd.it Yes - this website sells the exact same stuff, but at about 1/3rd of the price. It's all real. You can even call them and custom order if what you want what isn't listed on the site. So I think I'm done with this place for now on. Not sorry about that either. read more

As a homeowner with a love of interior design (and 3 renovations behind me), but not a designer, I approach design showrooms with a degree of trepidation. Sometimes I encounter the cold shoulder from salespeople who don't see the upside in providing excellent customer service to lay people like me. My experience at Arkitektura yesterday was the polar opposite -- both Dennis and Gabriel were beyond patient and helpful. I went to research Poliform closet systems and learned quickly that they have moved their showroom to the Design Center and are not yet open. But, despite this change, the sales guys answered all of my questions about the product -- ultimately helping me decide it's not the right way for me to go. THEN, Gabriel asked a bunch of questions about other aspects of my current project and provided some wonderful suggestions -- none of which were products he sold. I never felt patronized or rushed. They were professional, enthusiastic, and kind. The furnishings they carry are gorgeous and very high-end; someday when my life no longer includes cats I'd love to go back and find a new special piece for our home. read more

This company has always been on the cutting edge of great contemporary design. Their products do have a long lead time, but that is the standard for this end of the industry. The reps at Arkitektura were able to facilitate our firm's purchase of to the trade lighting in an extremely efficient way. The product was supposed to take 4-6 weeks to deliver and they were able to coordinate the delivery to us and our client within a week or two of purchase. One light fixture was slightly damaged in shipping and they expedited a replacement and pick up of the damaged item in under a week. We've been through so many renovations in our marriage, I knew full well there is no such thing as a kitchen of your dreams. Well, I was wrong. Arkitektura carries the Varenna kitchen line from Italy. It's dreamy with beautiful proportions and gorgeous finishes. And here is the best part: the sales staff seemed to know everything about the process and even got my thick-headed husband excited. My kitchen is installed (on time, by the way) and I absolutely love it. I can't stop my husband from bragging about it.
