Myrna was very accommodating to take my rush order. I also bought pre-sliced mangoes, and I couldn't help pick up a cassava cake. As a Filipino with not much of the culture at home this is an awesome place for me. The food is amazing! It's like a Panda Express but Filipino style. The ladies helping out are extremely helpful and patient.. especially with someone like me who cannot speak Tagalog. It is a little bit difficult choosing and knowing what's what to the non Filipino, but there's nothing I've tried that I haven't liked! The market itself is cool but just small, they have a nice selection of frozen Filipino foods you can take home and grill or fry (BBQ, lumpia). They also have fresh baked items like the ube sweet roll (pictured). Parking is easy peasy, they have their own lot and it's not hard to find. And after you grab a bite you can eat it at the tables just outside. I hear people here complain about Arko's prices, but I think they're in line with the taste. I think Arko is as competitive as you can get, the cheaper you go, you're eating some other type of meat. The hot and ready food is ok. I've had better. The sisig very dry and hard. This place is so small and crowded. The service is very very very slow which makes it even more crowded than it should be. I wouldn't come here again. I'd rather go to Lutong Bahay. It's also small but much faster service and better food. read more

I am no stranger to Filipino food and I can appreciate a good meal when I see one, but my first experience at Arko was not it. I needed ingredients for a Filipino dish and stopped here to find tamarind leaves. My total came out to $40 for mere vegetables. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I figured I'd let it slide because I was supporting a small business. I order a breakfast combo from their grill which came with one scoop of scrambled eggs, a daing (fish), and 1 cup of garlic fried rice. In addition to that, I had asked the lady for a small side of corn beef hash. When I came to the check out, my total for that breakfast alone came out to $20.00, I couldn't believe it. I asked the lady, how much was the breakdown. She said it was $9.50 for the combo, and $8 for the small side. Always count your change and insist on getting the right amount of change when Lydia is the cashier! She has shortchanged me and members of my family way too many times throughout the years. After today and after many years of putting up with this person's unethical behavior, my family is fed up and will avoid shopping at Arko until Lydia is replaced. Aside from years of keeping a portion of our change, Lydia has NEVER said "hello" nor "thank you" to me nor anyone I know who has shopped at Arko. She's very rude and unprofessional. I'm leaving this honest review to alert the owners of their employee who should be fired or at the very very least be reprimanded and trained. She is the only thorn among the many employees of Arko who have been very nice to us. FYI: My family members have shopped at Arko for more than 20 years. In fact, I started shopping at Arko when it was still located across the street from its current location. I just didn't like my experience this afternoon when a lady took a number ticket but cut in line by calling Pilar in the food line. Pilar asked her right away "Ano sa 'yo?". The minimum order is 72 pieces for $22. I wanted to order chicken miki bihon pancit as well but they didn't have any. They only had some with chicken and "fish balls?" Not sure what that is or if I misunderstood and my Filipino translation skills have just slipped. :0 Upon arrival, I went to food counter and the friendly lady found my order slip, said it would be ready in 5 minutes. So I browsed to hot food and I will definitely be back to try some stuff, looked good. Looks like they have all options covered as well. There were only a few people in line at 5 pm on on a Friday. Five minutes later I had hot chicken lumpia. (I've never had chicken lumpia and I've had all the other ones before). The lady packed it nicely. No sauce was offered but I needed a bottle for home anyways so I just bought one. I do like the fact that lumpia is cooked at time of pick up, stays fresh longer. The chicken lumpia is REALLY GOOD!!!! I also think it's a great value for the money and I'll definitely be back!! Highly recommend!! I've been visiting Arko for years because they have the best Filipino food in LA. That is a statement that many many local Filipinos would agree with. Arko is an establishment. Their cooks are from different regions of the Philippines and cook the specialities of those places--Ilocos, Pampanga, Visaya, Batangas...I'm sure there are more. My mom is Ilocano and she loves their Dinengdeng and Igado. The food is consistent and SO tasty. This review is not intended for the food I bought but I would with the transaction that happened today, 7/23/2023 at around afternoon. The Cashier's name on the transaction is "Damian S" at least that's what reflected on my receipt/invoice. After everything was scanned and the machine was already prompting me to insert my card to pay. The first card that I used was my Discover. It seemed like my transaction was not going through, but the machine didn't say my card had been declined. I pulled another card, for the 2nd time my first Visa Card. Same thing, it seemed like it was not going through either. I pulled my 3rd credit card, this time, my other visa card. That went through, and I signed the transaction. Because there are people lining up, I didn't get to ask for a copy of the credit transaction that I signed, my bad. Well, technically, the cashier should automatically provide that copy of my signed Visa Card Transaction. But he did not. The purpose of this review is to make sure that I'm not being triple charged today. What pisses me off today is when I found out that the receipt say, I was charged via my Discover card not via Visa card. But the transction that I signed was my Visa card. The Cashier made me sign on the Visa card transaction, not the Discover. I am going to wait it out until this next few days, to see if I will be charged on my 2 visa Cards. If that happens, I will give an update and report to authority of fraudulent activity. read more

It took me years before trying their ready made dishes and boy I wasn't disappointed. Ordered the platter for lumpia and a dozen empanadas for my bday 2 months ago and it didn't disappoint. I went back shortly after to try their dinuguan and sinigang and now I'm a fan. I've been coming here once a week to get my fix. I tried the tortang talong during my last visit and I was happy. Just a quick review on to-go and catering orders. The lechon kawali sisig is great. The beef steak is great. I've ordered both on occasion for parties and they were a hit. Call in your order, specify your tray size and pickup time. You dont get a confirmation number which worried me at first but your reservation will be under your name. When you go to pick it up, head to the cashier first to pay for it. The cashier will look up your order & invoice. Once paid, they stamp it and you go to the food counter to pick up your order. The trays are always packed good. I've never had any issues. The lechon kawali sisig tastes great. The mix of pork tenderness and crunchiness mixed in with the onions and slight vinegar flavor are just perfect. Its not healthy but its so good. The beef steak is also good. Great flavor and fork tender. I recommend both dishes for your catering needs or just take-out for a Filipino food dinner. read more

Althought the selection of seafoods and produce in this market is limited, they have the essentials to make your filipino dish. So goes their shelf stock as well.
