    I'm Blessed B.

It is a small grocery stre but it is full of asian food and goodies! I never thought that they would have huge selections. Ambiance is ok, a little bit pricey.

This medium-sized Korean market seems to cater to Koreans in the area based on the products. You probably won't come here for friendly service. I have usually stopped in for prepared food like gimbap for a quick bite or snack when I am in the area on a weekday. Today, I spent a lot more time perusing the aisles. I noticed their large selection of banchan in the back and the sign that says "no MSG." At the larger Korean supermarket in my neighborhood, I am turned off that they use MSG in most of their banchan. Lotte Market also sells marinated meat for Korean BBQ and tons of snacks, Asian products, produce, and housewares. They also carry Korean beers I've never seen elsewhere. While I checked out today, there was little interaction. She just quickly rang me up, gave me a receipt and quickly moved on to the next Korean customer so don't expect friendly service or conversation at the register like at Trader Joe's.

I don't believe this location is affiliated with the original Lotte Mart in Korea. The signage and name are slightly different. They primarily offer Korean goods such as groceries, produce and prepared foods. I was in the area and my nieces and nephew needed a refill of snacks to bring to school. Be on the lookout some of the snacks are past its expiration date thats probably why I didn't buy the prepared food but Kimchi and stuff is usually a product that needs fermenting so you should be fine grabbing that. The prices are fairly reasonable and this seems to be the 1 of 3 Korean Markets in La Canada. Small but has a ton of stuff to cook a great Korean Meal

I love this little market nested it the foothills. It's one of 3 small Korean markets within the area, with this one being my favorite for Asian style vegetables and fruits that you can't find at your local national- chain supermarkets. It's a well stocked little market for Korean cooking essentials, but I am mainly here for the veggie selection... oh the kitchen and cooking goods here are pretty nice selection too.

This is a small Korean market with the very basic necessities, but it still has the majority of what you need from a Korean market. It's very close to me and I appreciate this business. Apparently this business installed a new entrance door. I'm glad this business is doing well.

Most items are specialty items, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern or Eastern European. They carry imported chocolates, nuts a huge section of preserves. They have freshly roasted coffee that smells amazing we've never bought it as of yet. Their bread selection is quite nice with all local bakeries making dark Rye bread and other Middle Eastern style breads. The yogurt selection is varied and lovely, they even carry glass jars of Strauss Bulgarian style yogurt and a wide selection of labneh. Fresh feta in deli section also is great as well as unique Middle Eastern and Eastern European meats. We also purchase imported sparkling water, they have a nice refrigerated cooler near the registers, there are several brands we have come to like. From what I remember, there is no produce here, mostly dry, shelf stable and refrigerated goods.

Well they have super long lines and no baggers. So the cashier has to bag and it can take so much…read moreextra time. Unless you the customer bags your own stuff. But the elderly can't do that so it's why the lines are so long. Now here is the kicker. At the end of the checking line is a manager ...sometimes 2. A man and a woman. They are observing the long lines...counting something...just observing. It would help if THEY just go to the end of a long line and start bagging! See, that would be cool! You see you guys have not scheduled any baggers and the lines are so long they are down the aisles .. and you are just standing there? Of course they may say, well that's not my job. But that's the mentality that keeps things moving slow. It would be so nice if people just did what it takes to keep things moving. Either hire enough people OR get in there and start bagging! I remember back in the days there was a bagger at the end of each checkout aisle. A bagger and a casher! Those days are gone ...and most stores now see if they can get away with overworking the checker! Next thing you know they install self check outs! Rather than hire people and keep a system of people working they just get rid of people and have 1 person observing (like these managers were doing). What a world we are moving towards. But anyways that's what you see. I wish they would just hire bag boys and go back to the good ol days.

Was greeted right away when I entered by a nice man, he asked if we wanted a a sub and quickly walked over to help us out. I got the turkey sub with no jalapeños or onion and a bag of chips on the side. The price for everything was $14 which was honestly a steal, the sub was stuffed with meat and veggies, half was enough for me! They also slice the turkey fresh right in front of you so you know you're getting good ingredients!Taste wise it was delicious, I would probably go without the olives next time but even then it was sooo good. While my sub was being made I walked around and enjoyed all the Armenian goodies that they have! The store itself was nice and cool and everything was very clean and organized inside. Highly recommend, they deserve more customers for how clean it was and how yummy the food was, I'll definitely be back!

Sadly the economy has increased prices of course but that's not really the store's fault. PASTES Great selection of curry pastes, chili pastes, and seasoning packets for making things like Tom Kha and Papaya salad (All ranged roughly around $1-2). A selection of jarred sauces like , shrimp pastes, fried chili paste, and other sauces that were a few dollars more. COCONUT MILK/CREAM I focused on the Mae Ploy coconut cream which was $3.79 AROMATICS Aromatics like galangal, lime, and lemongrass are available in both dry powder form and fresh form. The powders ranged from $3-6). You can also get star anise either in dried bags or as a powder as well SAUCE Good selection of fish sauces and soy sauces. Large Viet Hung fish sauce - $13 I also spotted cheaper brands like Tiparos, Megachef, etc THAI CHILI POWDER! Finally. Been trying to find it at all the other Asian markets and it's been weirdly hard. I got my trusted 7oz red top container for $4.99 THAI TEA Thai tea in both canned ($3.39) and bagged instant form ($5) PRODUCE I was a bit sad at first on how small the produce section was but it turns out they actually really did have all the needed basics there. - Green papaya (they only have whole, no pre-shred) - Holy Basil in bags - Turmeric in bags - Thai chili peppers - Galangal $7/pound - Lemongrass stalks (I remember it said either $2-3 but didn't specify any further whether that meant PER stalk or per ounce or per pound, etc - Makrut ("Kaffir") lime leaves in bags (said it was $26 a pound but didnt provide a smaller, more realistic measurement - long beans - daikon - as well as a very modest collection of mainstream produce like tomatoes, onions, button mushrooms, etc CANNED Things like bamboo, including thin or thick cuts They also have my personal favorite jarred bamboo in chili oil. RAMENS They've got a small selection of ramens, also including variations of Indomie Mie Goreng ($1 per bag) and 1-2 Korean selections like Shin Ramen The sections I breezed by included oils, rice, snacks, and a few fridges with meats, eggs, desserts, frozen galangal, miso, etc. Unfortunately they didn't have the frozen precut lemongrass containers you sometimes get at Thai or Viet stores They also take card! It's a tiny tiny store with an equally tiny parking lot, so be prepared expect a full lot sometimes. I luckily found a spot but also noticed that it can be a bit of work to shimmy your car back out when you leave since they're packed so tight Definitely worth a visit though if you need this specialty of ingredients.

I expected it to be crowded because Sanamluang is incredibly popular. We were lucky to find the only open parking spot which happened to be right up front. This place is deceiving! Looks like a no nonsense place looking from the outside but it's pretty big once you get inside! They even have a seafood and meat section at the back. They'll also clean and fry in-store purchase fish. I did notice that most of their products are pricier compared to other Asian markets. I didn't have the need for any, so I came out empty handed. But Mom got the cut of meat she needed to make us dinner this week! Okay first stop (for me.) Being far from home, not sure when I'd come back... if the need comes up and I happen to be around, maybe...?

This place is mostly famous for their Turon. Just the right amount of crunch to sweetness ratio. I especially love that they have catering trays for everything you would want to bring to a filipino party. You can order their Turon in orders of 5 or more which gives you plenty of options if you want people to share. The pieces are pretty long so my tip would be to cut them in half to feed more mouths. Last time I went I got their lumpia and pancit bihon. My goodness!! Delicious and so fresh. The noodles I ate for days even after the party but everyone enjoyed it. I like the thin and thick noodles so happy they offered more than just the traditional pancit. Plenty of lumpia sauce was given and was thankful they hooked it up. The team at Chaaaste is phenomenal!! Honestly everyone is so friendly and kind. They always ask me about my day and curious where I'm going with all their delicious food. So family oriented and you could tell they put a lot of love into their food. I especially love seeing the Lola's and Aunties behind the counter at the register. So sweet! They have a small parking lot but I never had issues parking. There are always spots open. It's in a small plaza, but they offer everything you could need filipino. There's even a convenience store and some steam table staples available throughout the day. Their longanisa is fire and can't go wrong with anything they have hot and fresh.
