This is one of a few Argentine places that can justify the kind of mileage I have to put in to get my fix. It's not just a butcher shop, it's a mini Argentinian embassy for my taste buds. Walk in for a quick fix and walk out with enough freshly made empanadas and high quality meat to feed a small village. The selection is fantast and the staff is very friendly. ​The real danger of this small little shop, is the dry goods section. I can't just "shop" there. I have to gaze at their wall of snacks like a culinary historian. Seeing all those Argentine brands and dry goods triggers a massive wave of nostalgia for all the goodies my family would bring back in overstuffed suitcases every time they visited Argentina. I inevitably find myself surrendering to some alfajores. ​The main reason I drove here was for the sandwiches de miga. Rincon Market is a great, family owned and authentic Argentinean market. You can buy fresh meats but also some great cooked foods. Personally, I love to purchase empanadas here since they are made fresh and offer different options between beef, chicken, spinach and cheese and ham and cheese. They do offer some sandwiches such as steak and Milanese sandwiches but I have not tried them yet. read more

Chicken empanada was very doughy, not much filling. Was just ok, there are better options out there. Soda and cookies were lovely, a nice change of pace and delicious. Steak sandwich was a good portion size and very filling. Would eat this again but would ask for more chimichurri (I asked when ordering but they didn't put it on). We get all of our Argentinian meat cuts here and always so good. Bife de chorizo and entrana are our favorites. They also have pretty good migas, sometimes you have to order in advance because they'll sell out during holidays or during Argentinian game days. You can also get Havana alfajores here. I stoped by this place running errands in Glendale. It's a small place with big flavors! I tried the ham and cheese empanadas (j) and the spinach empanadas (e). Both were delicious and a reasonable price. My daughter tried the chicken empanadas (p) and she was a little thrown off by the raisins. Each kind has a little stamp in the dough and I put the letters above in parentheses. The show stopper for me was the sandwich mixto con acetunas. They are crustless sandwiches that come in a package. The hearts of palm and olives were delicious. There was also Turkey and ham and cheese. So soft, fresh and yummy. I also got a pack of alphahores but I brought them as a host gift to a party and didn't get to try them. They looked great! I will be back to try more items! read more

It's easy to miss Rincon Argentino. I've driven by this place a million times through the years. Unless you live in the neighborhood or unless you're Argentinian, you're probably not aware of this neighborhood gem. The empanadas here are $2 each! I got sticker shocked walking by Nonna's at Americana and Farmer's Market that goes for more than double. This is a market but has a deli that sells sandwiches and items from the motherland. They sell chimichurri in jars for $6.00 which is must with the empanadas. Steak sandwich here is just okay. The steak a bit too dry and bland for me though the chimichurri, mayo, lettuce and tomato added a little flavor. You can't leave this place without some pastries and cookies. Alfajores are a must. Shortbread with sandwiched with dulce de leche and coated with coconut gratings are bliss. The cancioncitos is a puff pastry with dulce de leche topped with powdered sugar. You'll definitely need a cup of coffee with these deserts. It's worth dropping by if you're in this part of town. read more
