Camping means he has to be protected from things that could make him sick.

Shortly after moving to AZ, my boy dog had a "boy dog" problem. I needed a vet immediately and ArkVets got him in and go things ... stabilized. Now he gets his shots and checkups there. He lives the staff. I do too but when your dog does, it makes things easier. (Especially after his first appointment!) So ArkVets is our hometown vet now. Shots. Wellness exams. And since he and I are both seniors, his health and affordability is important to me. My pup and I camp a lot so keeping him healthy and current on shots is a priority. The Doctor also keeps me updated on what's available and options for his medications and advised of options if / when what we're doing isn't working. My dog is 9. Where I go, he goes. We even have a campervan so he and I always have a pet friendly place to sleep. I appreciate having a vet that helps me keep costs down (am old. Dog is old. Van is old.) so my dog can live his life as freely as possible for the rest of days.

Two healthy happy pups thanks to Ark Vets!

Both my pups love going to Ark Vets! The team is always fast, kind, and informative. They gave us so much peace of mind when our little dog got sick and we couldn't figure out what was wrong. They've also been incredibly helpful in supporting us as we adjusted our new rescue into our home. We're so grateful for their care and compassion.

Absolute horrible experience…read more We brought our very sick 15-year-old Yorkie in Friday night around 1:00 a.m. When we arrived, they took him to the back and told us they'd update us. After waiting about an hour, we were told he was on oxygen to help him breathe and that the vet would be with us shortly. Another 30 minutes later, the vet came in and asked the same questions we had already answered on the intake form and with the vet tech. The vet then told us they "didn't know what was wrong," but they could keep him for 24 hours and run tests that may or may not help. We were quoted $4,900. We asked about euthanasia because it was clear to us he was actively dying and suffering. Instead of guidance or compassion, the entire interaction felt focused on expensive testing rather than our dog's comfort and welfare. Regardless they charged us $200 for the visit, $200 to administer $100 worth of medication and oxygen. What a rip off! We took him home and went to our regular vet first thing in the morning. They immediately assessed him and told us the kindest thing was to keep him comfortable because he was in pain and suffering. He was humanely euthanized about 10 minutes later. I would never bring an animal here again. The lack of empathy, poor communication, and the push toward a very costly "maybe" plan in a crisis was unacceptable. When families are saying goodbye, compassion should come first. Do better.

When we arrived, the team triaged her quickly. Kaitlynne was incredibly patient and understanding while gathering information from me. My cat is quite spicy and only made it through the weigh-in before we discussed sedation. It was very stressful signing paperwork about resuscitation, but Kaitlynne and Edie remained kind and empathetic while I signed paperwork and paid through tears. I later received an update call from Jasmine, who let me know she was able to handle my cat without sedation. It was such a relief and I was pleasantly surprised that every effort was made before resorting to sedation, even after I had approved it. Yami helped process the discharge and provided the updated invoice reflecting that sedation was not needed. She was friendly, sweet, and very informative. Jasmine provided me with a Certificate of Bravery for my cat and a detailed explanation of the care provided and what to keep an eye out for at home. Although I did not have direct contact with him, I am extremely grateful to Dr. Huitt for caring for my cat. The entire team was a perfect balance of professional and compassionate throughout the stressful experience. While I hope I never need emergency vet care again, it is comforting to know such exceptional care is close by. Thank you, BluePearl Peoria team!

The entirety of the visit, I could hear staff giggling through the door of the euthanasia room. At one point there was loud laughing right outside the door from the treatment area. I was having the worst day of my life and having to deal with a lack of professionalism from staff made it worse. I want to note that this does not involve the front desk or attending veterinarian. Coming from the veterinary field myself, hearing laughing during a vulnerable moment in your life is something no client should ever to experience. It's rude, disrespectful, and not good practice. I spoke to the manager when I went to pick up my dog's ashes- I realized I do not want an apology from the manager. I want an apology from the staff involved. I also believe they should pursue training on behavior during end of life cases. Do not go here if you are seeking an ounce of compassion from the back staff. My dog came in after being bitten and was having a serious allergic reaction with hives. We had already given him Benadryl before arriving. The staff told us they were going to administer a steroid injection, which we agreed to and believed had been done. Later, we found out that no steroid was given at all. Instead, they gave my dog another shot of Benadryl--something he had already received--while acting as if it was the steroid they said he needed. Because his condition didn't improve, we had to rush him to another clinic, where he was immediately given the steroid shot that actually helped him. Beyond the medical issue, the staff was rude, dismissive, and lacked compassion. They acted as though they cared about my pet, but their actions proved otherwise. This felt careless and misleading, and it put my dog at risk. Now I'm stuck disputing the charge with my bank for services that were either misrepresented or not properly provided. Please think twice before bringing your pet here. When it comes to your animal's health and safety, honesty and proper care matter--and that was not my experience at this clinic.

Took him to another emergency clinic close by and everything seemed fine. A few days later, he was acting off and took him back to that clinic and he was out on some pain meds for some spinal tenderness. Neither the emergency clinic or I noticed (even after examining him pretty thoroughly) that he had a puncture wound on the side of his jaw. Long story short, went back to that clinic today because I found him soaked in a weird bloody liquid oozing from his face and it was going to be a 4 hour wait. Figured I'd call VEG and see what their wait was and they told me to come right in and they would take care of him. Before I even got to the door, there was a VEG employee standing there to take us immediately back. I didn't even have time to look at the lobby... just straight back and immediately being looked at. Not going to lie, I didn't research VEG much since I was in immediate action mode... walking into the open concept emergency room was a little shocking. However, the care that the staff and doctors took was... beyond what I could have imagined. For what would be an agonizing amount of time where any other clinic would have taken him to the back, I was able to stay with him the entire time... even when they were working on him and cleaning up the wound I was holding him. While I don't want to say I loved the experience... I will say I loved the care and attention that every VEG employee showed. It was honestly worth every penny to bring him to VEG to be treated today. I felt like they really had his best interest at heart. I would highly recommend VEG to anyone who is in need of emergency care. The open concept can take a moment to get used to, but I think you'll find it to be far more comforting than if you were just left waiting somewhere while your pet was taken away from you. Since we were only in the area temporarily, they provided pain medication to help keep her comfortable until we could get her back down to the Valley for follow-up care with our regular veterinarian. My dog sitter ended up taking my dog here one night while we were out of town to deal with her chronic vomiting. The vet caring for her that evening spoke with me directly over the phone to go over treatment options. I thoroughly appreciated her honesty. I ended up having to take my dog back here one night a few weeks later due to the vomiting starting up again and her primary vet also suggested what she's going through needs to be handled at an actual animal hospital. This second visit was just as efficient and also they were kind enough to waive certain fees due to us returning back to them in such a short amount of time. Nothing could have changed the outcome of the day but I am so grateful that at every moment the VEG staff was working to save my dog and caring so much for all of our comfort. They immediately got several large beds and a blanket for him to lie down and offered me a cushion. They handled him with love and checked on us in so many ways. And they tried. At one point we had something like 6 people working to stabilize him and everyone was focused and on task. I felt they worked on him not like a job but as if he was their own. I know its hard to work on a holiday and I know his death was emotional for everyone. But thank you all because at least I was with him to the very end and he knew he was being cared for.
