I paid Arlington Auto Clinic $455 in Dec 2024 for front brakes/rotors with a 1-year warranty. Less than 9 months and ~3,000-4,000 miles later, the brakes were grinding. Another shop confirmed the rotors were defective, but Arlington tried to charge me labor again and upsell $600+ in calipers/hoses that weren't identified originally. When I refused, they even returned my car missing a rim/hubcap -- which they later admitted and apologized for. Unprofessional, dismissive, and failed to honor their warranty in good faith. Response to Owner: Thanks for replying. For clarity: another independent shop confirmed no caliper/hose issues, and that the rotors failed due to poor quality parts. Your estimate still showed $0 for warranty parts but $287.50 in labor -- so I was being charged hundreds for a warranty claim. On top of that, my car was returned missing a rim/hubcap, which you later admitted and apologized for. That's why I feel the warranty wasn't honored in good faith. read more

I brought my car in, they replaced the water pump and changed the timing belts. I don't know why but now the shifter isn't working and will get stuck in neutral. They said that they didn't touch anything with the shifter but the shifter was fine before I took it in. read more

So an otherwise decent visit was tarnished by my discovery of a line item on my receipt called "Non-Cash Adjust". This is them charging the customer their merchant fee. I got in an argument with the cashier and he claimed that it's new and they now have to pay this. I informed him that every business in the world that accepts credit cards pays a merchant fee, and almost all of them pay it out of their own pockets. In my experience on the very rare occasion that they don't, they are very quick to tell you that you can avoid the surcharge by paying with cash/check. This is also useful to know earlier rather than later since it gives customers some time to get cash or bring their check book while their car is being worked on. Fine, so I'm now thinking the solution to this is to pay with cash. I asked for a chargeback, so we could redo the transaction. I was informed by the cashier that he didn't have the authority to do a chargeback, and to return the following day to speak to the owner. While it could have just ended right there, and be made right, I'm now inconvenienced by having to return. Shady little stuff like this really pisses me off. It's not a huge amount of money at 2.75%, but it's how they don't tell you about it, and then once you bring it up they act like it's this new thing that I wouldn't understand as a customer. They aren't the only store to do this, however there is a right way to go about it. Had they been upfront with me and just said that merchant fees are expensive for their business, and that I can pay by cash/check, thereby saving both the merchant and the customer a few bucks. Something as simple as that would have been just fine. Update: This is a response to SamW who was kind enough to write a reply to my experience. The work on my car exceeded $400. While there isn't a standard definition for a big job, I personally think that would qualify for many. At no point was the merchant fee mentioned, nor was it on the estimate. Had it been, I wouldn't have been surprised at the end of the day. If you take a moment to reread my comments, you'll see that is the point I was making. We are saying the same thing in that the customers should be informed that the customer is paying the merchant fee. Perhaps 99% of your customers if presented this information would be fine with the convenience of paying with their credit card despite the fee, but I wrote about my personal experience, and in that specific case, I was not provided that information. read more

There had been a clicking sound coming from my car so I wanted to take it in to get it checked out. Alex was AWESOME! If you go, ask for Alex because he went above and beyond for me to make sure I understood what was going on with my car. Not only did he explain what was wrong but when I still didn't understand, he sent me pictures to help me understand it better. I brought my vehicle in first thing in the morning around 7:30 AM on a Monday and they were done around 3 PM. When I was their to pick up the car, the mechanic gave me an overview of the job, the overall condition of the brake system, etc. Very thorough service, appreciated that he followed up. Honest and forthright, I didn't feel like I was pressured in any way to have work done that I didn't need. I will definitely go back. Sam is great and gets to know his regular customers. This is a family owned and operated business and all of the work done to my vehicle is done here. They explain everything and go through their estimates. They have great technicians and are really fair with pricing. I first came to Wilson Gas after going to another shop for an oil change. After they finished, they provided a list of extensive repairs that 'needed' to be done, totaling over one thousand dollars. I took my car keys back and left. I took my car to Wilson Gas, which was a recommendation from a friend. I spoke to the mechanics at Wilson Gas who took a look at my car and explained what did need to be done and what other repairs could be done, but were not necessary. The front left brakes on my Subaru were making noise, as if the pads had worn down and needed to be replaced. This was unlikely given the brakes had been replaced less than 20k miles ago. Sam was very responsive to my online query (within 25 mins) and told me to take the car in right away. It turns out it was just the brake shield, so the mechanic adjusted that, test drove the car and patched a tire - and charged only a 1/2 hour labor and $20 for the patch. Extremely reasonable, honest and convenient (only about seven blocks from home. Will definitely keep them in mind for future repairs. read more

Incredibly prompt, high quality and honest. Repaired a right side brake issue with my truck discovered at an inspection at another garage (who couldn't even accurately quote a repair estimate). AAC actually replaced both rear brakes and performed routine maintenance for what the other guys thought was the issue. Also they were able to fix in a day vs week with other guys. Brought my car in for an inspection, which it failed. They did the necessary repairs for it to pass. The repairs were awesome and the cost was a bit high, but I don't fault them. The issue happened when I picked up my car and there was a large crack on my windshield, right next to where the brand new inspection sticker was placed. I picked it up on September 6th and I let the attendant know. He told me to call the manager the next day. This crack was not on the windshield when I dropped it off two days ago. If there was damage made when the new sticker was made, I would understand. I managed to call on September 18th and was told that the footage they had only went back to the day after I picked up the car. So now I have a car that passed inspection but also a large foot and a half crack on the windshield. I find it super frustrating that for some reason the footage was not available to see what happened and I was told I was expected to document or keep records of the car before I dropped it off. I was also advised to file an insurance claim and say the damage occurred due to an uninsured driver. I think they were trying to help me out but I also don't think filing a false claim is the way to go. I had been using this place for the past year but no longer feel comfortable leaving my car with them due to the damage it received and the lack of surveillance. I called 12 days after I picked up. I picked them because they were close to where I work so it was easy for me to walk/bike/scooter back to work after dropping off my car, but they got everything done at a great price and so quickly! I use my car for deliveries so the longer I don't have my car the less money I make. They were able to get my car fixed over night. Also the testing and emissions is super fast and they are very realistic with recommendations. I trust them to do a good job and not recommend everything be fixed. Crooked mechanics they will lie to you about issues with your car to try and get repair business. I took a car there to have it checked for a pre purchase inspection they claimed it has low compression and oil leaks and would need over $1000 in repairs I took it to a new car franchise for a second opinion and was told the engine compression is perfect on all 4 cylinders and the oil leaks they were referring to was just grease and dirt. I am very disappointed that they wasted my time and money please watch out for these crooks!! read more

The gentleman who helped me was very nice and started some conversation about where I was moving from, my experience in Texas, etc. I recommend this place 100%. I came here specifically for the safety inspection for my car. It passed smoothly with no funny business involved. The inspections are CASH ONLY. Which I knew ahead of time thanks to the other Yelp reviews here. From now on, I will always get my safety ($20) and emissions ($28) inspections done by Wilson Gas. The gentlemen at the counter was extremely friendly and professional with a very positive attitude. I came in around 8:30AM and the entire process took roughly 20 minutes total, but that is with one car ahead of me. There were 6-7 comfortable seats inside for the wait and the temperature was nice and cool thanks to the AC, which I was grateful in this heat wave we have in the area this week. I heard the gentlemen say to another customer that typically at 8AM when they open there is no one in line. I'm sure then one would be in and out within 10 minutes. Additionally, while waiting I noticed that the ATM inside this gas station is Allpoint. Which means there are no fees if you bank with Ally Bank. They also do Western Union which I saw two customers use. Finally, they sell Kulfi which I did not expect from a gas station, it is one of my favorite Indian desserts! read more

Took my car for a Catalytic converter to be replaced, along with a full Diagnostic. They also worked on the Transmission and had an Oil Change done. Almost immediately, after I started to drive the car, several warning lights came on, on the dashboard, and also the transmission seemed off. The car was driving rough. Because of my job, I was not able to immediately take it back in. I called the shop, explained all the issues and they told me to drop it off. Alex, one of the mechanics called me the next day and immediately, even before they checked the car out, he became defensive and started making excuses. That they had nothing to do with the warning lights, or how the transmission was acting up, and that if I wanted them to check it out, I had to pay for it. He was very rude, unprofessional, and would not even let me talk. I picked up my car and took it to another Mechanic shop, where they did a Diagnostic test. They told me that they were certain, that Wilson gas had done something to the car, and that they were trying to hide it. Now I am forced to make a complain with the Better Business bureau, and if that does not help, I will be taking them to Court. read more

I took my car here for service and met the owner Hamzah upon arrival. They don't take appointments when I called the day prior, but he said they should be able to take care of my scheduled service- oil change & tire balance/rotation. Hamzah was very honest with me & said I wouldn't need many unnecessary services done that was recommended by another local independent service shop that I visited in the past. He also recommended that I pay the extra $20-$30 for a full synthetic oil change vs a blended synthetic. When I picked up my car later in the afternoon; it drove better than it's ever driven in the 3 years and over 30K miles since I've owned it. My car is a manual (2015 Honda Civic) and it shifted extremely smooth after service at this shop. Finally, the tire balancing and rotation fixed the shaking issue that I've had for a year when driving above 75-80 mph. It appears that I lost a lug nut on one tire either in my recent travels or possibly during the service. Hamzah graciously offered to cover 1/2 the cost-despite the fact that it may have already been missing. What a gentlemen. In the end the pricing of all my service was at least 20-30% cheaper than when I usually take it to a commercial oil change place like Valvoline or Quaker State. I would highly recommend this shop based on the quality of service and also the integrity of the owner, mechanics and manager as well. read more

Rolled up on a friday afternoon for an emissions test only. there would have been a wait for a safety inspection, but emissions could be done right away. was told the testing guy would be right back. he was. immediately took my keys, pulled the vehicle in, completed the test and handed me the results. out the door in less than ten minutes! total fee $28. after getting the runaround at two other places, this was so easy i wished i had come here first. this is the perfect spot for getting your emissions. highly recommend! read more

Very positive experience here. I came in first thing in the morning to get an oil change, state inspection, and emissions test. I was able to get some work done while I waited (it's a little odd sitting in the middle of the shop while you wait, but the chairs are comfortable and it's pretty quiet) and the owner was very kind and chatted with me for a bit, too. Pricing was very reasonable and I was on the road by 9:30am. The only thing I wish is that it was more clear that the repair team & inspector doesn't show up until around 8:30am (even though the shop opens around 7am). All told, I'll definitely be back next time I need anything done on my car! read more
