I went to get information regarding a collection of paper currency and wanting information. The store was disorganized and overcrowded with items that had nothing to do with coins. I had sorted the bills by series, date, and anything that made it worthwhil, i.e. Consecutive number or star bill. He sat and riffled through them with little interest and calculated a total. I also had fragile bills that even though I knew they probably had little value, he manhandled and damaged a few. This felt akin to me going into a low-end pawn shop. I located them online and liked the existing reviews. There are lots of coin dealers in the DFW metroplex, and it's worth checking the reviews. I like these guys a lot. It's a friendly and informal store, lots and lots of inventory, displays and customers in and out. I wanted to sell some unusual American coins and they helped me tremendously. I went in to this place with a friend who has been a coin collector for as long as I've known him. I don't know much about coins so this review is mostly about my impression when I walked in. I get buzzed into the door with my buddy and from the moment I walked in the attitudes were horrible. The girl helping us was uninterested and border line rude but she was nothing compared to the older gentlemen we dealt with next. He came over shaking his head like we were a major inconvenience, took my buddy's coins, looked at them, and just threw them back onto the counter like it was a waste of time. First of all of these are collectors items, someone that runs a professional shop like that should not in the slightest be handling someone else's property like that. Second, if you want continued business, don't act like your customers are a waste of your time. In summary, I wanted to leave almost as soon as I walked into the door, the employees were rude and had horrible attitudes. Maybe you can get money and old coins here but I can definitely say someone else deserves your business more than these people. read more

I would be carefull doing business here. If you leave an honest review they will ban you from bidding on their coins. It took them 8 days to get the coin in the mail and didn't think it was fair for me to point that out considering they were charging for 1st class delivery. Poor service and ethics. read more

I had them send a coin off to NGC to be graded. They did not call when it returned, I had to go ask. They handed me a coin that had been graded as obviously cleaned. It was not my coin. I know my coin well and it had not been cleaned, anyone could tell the coin I got back had been cleaned, it was that obvious. What a stupid mistake on my part! I have been a coin collector for 20+ years. Arlington Coins used to be my favorite coin shop in DFW. Mike and the other guys were professional, honest, and always took the time to talk with their loyal customers. Unfortunately, Mike sold the shop a few years ago and the new owner kept the store name. I walked in today to sell some gold and silver coin sets as I have done in the past. The store used to be neat and organized but was now cluttered and messy. The girl behind the counter needed to call someone on the phone first to check pricing, then insulted me with a 30% BELOW spot price offer. (3-5% is the current norm) I took my business down the street to Arlington Gold and Exchange. I was finally able to have a conversation with people who knew coins and I sold the same coin sets for only 3% below spot. I made 27% more since I took my business elsewhere and I suggest that you do the same too. read more

My stepdad and I have been going to this coin shop for almost 10 years since it was under the last management. Money has been tight lately so I went to sell a few of my coins there with a friend and get a feel for what the new management was like. My advice would be NOT to go there if you are a collector and interested in buying/ selling. The staff there was very rude and seemed bothered with me and my friend. How dare I try to give him business. The man that I dealt with would pick up a coin, casually glance at it, and then toss it in a pile and say a number. I've been dealing with coins for years, and I understand businesses are trying to make a profit but you can't fool me by saying a silver 3 cent piece that was graded and worth $45 is only worth $9. He also tried to tell me that I got ripped off with the other coins I purchased. He even ignored me and walked away, when I told him I bought my coins from there under the last management who would always give me good deals and were always fair. I ended up selling a few Morgan silvers there, because unfortunately I really need the extra cash, but I will never do business with them again. I honestly was less disappointed with the offers for my stuff and more disappointed with just how bad the customer service was. read more

Since they took over the store a little over a year ago they have brought in more of a selection to chose from. They make you feel like you are part of the family there.
