Amy, answered the phone answered all my questions and scheduled an in-house visit with Steve. Steve arrived as scheduled and professionally answered my further questions. He explained to me how my home could be insulated,so there were no surprises. He told me about energy credits available to me and special financing. Plus my neighbor will get a check too for the referral! That will be a pleasant surprise for them.Steve measured my home to get the estimate. Upon his departure, I was left with a list of homework to complete before the installation. The installation crew#3 arrived on schedule. Mike the supervisor did a pre walk through to confirm that I understood that holes would be drilled on the exterior. He showed me a sample of the pine hole plug. Upon discussing the project I became a bit nervous and asked if I could "call a friend", that discussion helped me make the final decision to go ahead with the project. The construction of my home was a bit different than the crew had expected which meant less holes and plugs. (Yippy, happy dance).I gave them the final go ahead. Mike, Denny and Anthony communicated well and work great as a team. It took only a few hours to complete my home. They were very professional and took great care to make sure the finished job was completed to my satisfaction and looked nice. As the foam was being sprayed into the walls some would squirt out when the wall became full. The team of three followed each other and cleaned up as they went. No residue on the walls or the ground were left behind. I gave RetroFoam a five star rating because, they communicated well every step of the project, they are reliable when they say they will be there they were, the final cost came with no surprises. My first day I noticed my home was more sound proof. Time will tell if it will be easier to heat and cool my home. Thank you for such a positive experience!

I hired Retrofoam to fix a specific issue with a drafty, cold, west-facing room on my first floor. The initial experience was fine and I hired them based on their slick marketing and sales pitch. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. In hindsight, the assessment felt rushed, but I trusted their expertise when they recommended removing the fiberglass insulation and spray-foaming rim joists. Unfortunately, after spending $2,300, the fix made absolutely no difference. When I sent a video showing that the draft problem wasn't fixed, they essentially ghosted me until I left a one-star review here. They then returned and the technician confirmed 32 degrees at the floor level. 32 degrees! He also admitted that their SALESPEOPLE DON'T CARRY APPROPRIATE DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS. On a call later with Aaron (Retrofoam's owner) when I asked about their sales process, he told me that their salespeople don't really do assessments (not what they say on their website!) but rather just rely on "best practices" (aka guessing). Aaron said their salespeople are just there to "measure" and "make sure shelves aren't in the way" of the technicians. Wow. They offered to come "caulk the baseboard" as part of a warranty service. Absolutely refused to own up to a clear misdiagnosis and a waste of my money. Proceed cautiously before signing up with these guys. They don't stand behind their own hype.

I entered some information on an ipad and was told to expect an email with additional forms to fill out. 3 weeks later, Lynn from Herbert's called asking if I had filled out the forms. I told her I didn't get an email. She said when I do, fill them out and they will schedule a date. Week later Lynn called again asking if I got an email. I did not. She then gave me the phone number of the finance company they work with and she also gave me their business ID no? Not sure what that was. The finance company said they could NOT talk to me directly, only with Herbert's. He put us on a 3-way call, (I think I was not supposed to hear that conversation). "I have XXXX on the line and she is hot (angry). Said she offered cash but . . . ." Total disrespect from the finance company dude. I should have looked for a new roofer right there. But it was the guy from the finance company who was rude. Turns out Herbert's never sent them my information, so I was never going to be sent an email. Anyhow, Lynn then gave me another number to call. At that point, I called the office the next morning and said I wanted a strictly cash transaction. If they didn't want to do it that way, I would find another roofer. Oh . . . they wanted to do it but my down payment wasn't big enough for a cash transaction (stated matter of factly). . . . . . I then had to ask her for the additional amount to be paid. I was put on hold and then WAIT FOR IT. . . Lynn came on the phone apologizing. She was sorry things were not working out, but once they received my check for the additional down payment, they would order materials and schedule a date. Two weeks later, I had to call them back. I was placed on hold . . . WAIT FOR IT. . . .Lynn came on the phone apologizing again. They had my check but the scheduler was on vacation and no one else was aware I had to be scheduled. I should expect a phone call the next day (Friday) to schedule a date. How do you think that turned out? That's right . . . no phone call. I believe they called the following Tuesday. Roof job scheduled for Dec 12. The guys were great, there on time, it only took 5-6 hours. No complaints with the actual job. I really didn't have any complaints about the cost either. Job site manager said the dumpster would be removed and I would get an invoice for the remaining payment. 5 days later, the dumpster was still in my driveway, I called the dumpster company to have it removed. Shortly thereafter, received a phonecall from Herbert's WAIT FOR IT . . . apologizing that the dumpster hadn't been picked up. Then received a phone call from Lynn (in an irritated tone) asking for the final payment. Honestly if I had to do it again, I'd go with another roofer. This was the worst experience I've had in a while. Definitely steer clear of Lynn.

Refused to do chimney flashing repair unless I got the whole roof replaced. $18k+ and 2 years…read morelater: The flashing still leaks. They tore my gutters off after saying they wouldn't. Called their service line mid-job and was told they (conveniently for them) stopped providing gutter services 4 months prior. The gutters were put back up, but now they leak all over and a facia board is sagging. Putting new shingles on went fine- the only part of the job that went "okay." That's until one of the roofers put a foot through my cieling. At that point, they tried to blame water damage further down the cieling and refused to repair it. Gaps were left all over that allowed bees and squirrels into the home. The young project manager, who I've been told is no longer employed there, refused to discuss items that were left out of my quote, like a boot around the electrical hook up- something that needs to be put on according to code and should not have been missed. He called the next-higher-up manager. When he arrived, the attitude he threw at both me and my parents nearly instigated a fight. Between the lies, the poor quality of installation, the employee turnover, and the lack of accountability, no one should use this company.
