We learned to use the wheel, the process that happens afterwards and then you practice detachment by leaving your piece and choosing 1-2 others to take home! I was not going to be in the area when the work finally arrived, and they gave a deadline of 30 days to pick it up. I emailed them to arrange shipping - which they agreed to do. I also mentioned I would be back in Austin outside of the 30-day window and could pick it up then - they said they were happy to hold the work and to let them know which route I was choosing. A few weeks later I emailed them saying I would be in Austin. They arranged a time to pick it up, but then the owner replied saying my work was thrown away. Because I hadn't responded promptly to their email to let them know whether to ship or to hold the work.
