Our second time eating here was thru Uber Eats. Due to COVID-19, we limit dining out but still want to support local businesses. This time we tried the margherita pizza with prosciutto added on to it, the pappardelle alla vodka, and the insalata della casa. The pizza crust is comparable to F&D's Italian Kitchen and Pizza Bruno. We enjoyed it just as much, but as a personal preference for me, I didn't really care for the prosciutto my husband added on it. It gave a weird gamey taste that didn't really go with the flavors. Good thing was I was able to pick it off and kept it moving. The pasta was really good, albeit I a bit overpriced IMO for the portion I received. It could of been because we got it to go so they were limited to what can fit in the to-go container. But I digress. I loved the big fat flat noodle of the pasta and it gave a great mouth feel with it being silky and chewy at the same time. The vodka sauce was smooth and had that homemade taste. I was able to salt and spice it up with red pepper flakes to my liking. The mushrooms were plentiful, fresh, and cooked perfectly with a little bit of bite to it so it gave a nice texture with the noodles. The house salad portion was good for something that was less than $5. The greens were fresh and I liked the amount of shaved parmesan and shaved pears they added. The shaved pears was why I got the salad in the first place! The only thing I didn't care for was the homemade dressing. It was a thick balsamic vinaigrette but it was bitter and bland which was a bit disappointing because it looked like it was going to be packed with flavor. All in all, we were satisfied with our choices and I would definitely order again be it in person when the COVID-19 cases come down to where I am comfortable or via Uber Eats. I came here for the first time with a coworker for dinner. I was looking for a place that catered to her pescatarian needs and my love for Italian. The restaurant is clean and cute inside and they even have outside seating. Our server was wonderful and sweet and made great recommendations. We ordered the fried calamari, bruschetta, one of the special pasta dishes (ravioli stuffed with crab, scallops, and shrimp in a creamy tomato sauce), gamberoni e capesante fra diavolo, limoncello cake, and creme brulee. We like to enjoy ourselves, lol. Everything was wonderful but the pasta dishes and desserts were the best. I felt like the bruschetta bread was very crunchy and thick but the actual tomatoes were tasty. The calamari was tasty and cooked well. I really enjoyed my diavolo dish. It was a tad bit salty, but the dish overall was excellent. I found out that the parpadelle and ravioli are made in house which was an added bonus for me. I do wish I ordered a parpadelle with a bolognese or the parpadelle alla vodka though, but that's not a dig at this dish. The ravioli special my friend ordered was to die for and the waitress said that they don't make it often. I liked that better than my dish! The limoncello cake was so light and fresh and the creme brulee was a very nice portion and was absolutely delicious. I ordered from Armando's last night, and everything exceeded my expectations. I got the Polpette Antipasti, which was tender and packed with flavor, in my opinion. For my main dish, I selected the Spaghetti con Vongole. Again, for me it was savory and light, yet had a slight creaminess with a touch of spiciness--super fulfilling and hit the right spot. Next time, I want to try the same pasta with the Carpaccio Di Salmone Antipasti, as I feel like they would pair nicely. Definitely recommend, and I will be visiting in person very soon! read more

I am so disappointed in Armando's. We have been going for years. I have a gluten sensitivity and they have always had limited options, but my go-to was always the mashed potatoes. Last night I was told they did away with them. I asked if they had gf pasta, they don't offer it. I asked if they had gf pizza, no. At this point, I realized they didn't have any options for me. The waiter said my option was salmon on spinach. That was literally their only option. Please, please consider having some gf options. To only have one dish is unacceptable. read more

Horrible service. We went to celebrate a masters graduation for two people and they didn't give us bread even though we kept asking. I also saw the manager she was white wearing a blue satin shirt she gave us the middle finger, my mom noticed it and she walked away. Never said nothing to her since they are handling our food. I think she got upset we were having issues and handed her the dirty dishes since no one was bussing the table. Still gave the waitress her tip. What was supposed to be a good graduation was bad. Bad manager again baby blue satin top and it was Saturday May 10th our reservation was around 4:30pm party of 9. We're also Hispanic so it might've been a racist thing but who knows? It was from the freezer to the plate no flavor very chewy and cold. Our server was change three times, and the place was empty. The pasta was OK very large amount . The chicken had barely any flavor, I have asked for a Moscato, which it was supposed to be on the happy hour menu, and I still got charged regular price, Only a few people at the restaurant the service could be better. The menu has so many options and anything you could possible think of wanting at an Italian restaurant. I had the blackberry mojito. It was very light and delicious. If you're looking for a stronger drink this isn't the one I'd recommend. I had the pappardelle boscaiola and the portion size was massive. This is definitely something you can share or take left overs home. For appetizers we had Bruschetta and a Caprese Salad. I'll definitely return when I'm craving Italian food. Warning! Wow the food was amazing! I went here for a dinner with some colleagues and the restaurant accommodated our group. We shared apps to start we had the potato croquettes which were amazing! We also had the best calamari I have had in Orlando and the Bruschetta which was made with actual bread and not the bread cracker that some restaurants use. My meal was the Ravioli Al Funghi which is pictured here. It was so good, the mushrooms felt fresh and the sauce was exquisite. I didn't drink any cocktails but a lot of my colleagues tried some and they had great things to say about the mojitos and the French Martini. The food is gourmet and offers so many choices with endless customizations. The calamari is very meaty which I love because normally you get fried bread crumbs with barely any meat but here you get hardy pieces like how it is supposed to be. Unfortunately, I rated the restaurant three stars because the service was painfully slow. Our waiter, unfortunately, seemed to be flustered, for which he later apologized, saying it was a busy night. We arrived around 7:30 and didn't get the food until an hour later. It was brutal because we were hungry and were not expecting that delay. When they brought the appetizers, we didn't have utensils, and I went back in to let the waiter know, for which he apologized. On a good note, the food was delicious! The lasagne was hot and tasty. The sauce was homemade (and if it wasn't, it sure tasted like it). My boyfriends' dad ordered the cheese ravioli for which he also said tasted great. The meatball app was also tasty. We would have loved our cold food warmed up. But my personal favorite was Edwin bringing me the wrong drink and when I pointed this out, he said I was wrong until he checked his notes. 20 minutes later, when I asked for my drink, he said "we are busy, it will come when it's ready". I chose Armando's for my wedding on Saturday. We got married in the gazebo across the street, walked over to Armando's and had the most amazing dinner. The servers were wonderful. They stayed on top of everything, and the food was delicious as always! We were able to enjoy our wedding dinner with family and friends and not have to worry about a thing. We came in for early dinner/late lunch. Only people in dining room. The scallops appetizer we ordered had to be remade 3 times because it was a new chef and scallops were still raw. The third try was better but we did not finish it because it still was not cooked properly. It definitely was not the usual tasty dish that we have come to know. Our meals finally arrived after 45 minutes. The chicken parmigiana was dry, limited pasta and again not the usual taste of quality. The Pollo Tatiana was served with rubber chicken that was not edible so we only ate the pasta and shrimp. The server apologized and offered a tiramisu for our trouble but we declined. A manager did not visit our table nor were any items taken off the bill. We won't be back unfortunately and it was one of our "go to" places. read more

My husband and I loved Armando's. The food and service was great. We were seated as soon as we walked in and our drink order was taken. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and enjoyed how fresh and perfectly seasoned it was. The side of marinara for dipping was also very good. We used it for the bread that came out before our meals. For entrees we decided to go with Chicken Parm and Lasagne. Both of our meals came out of the kitchen steaming hot and freshly prepared. My husband thought that the lasagna was the best that he has had in a very long time. My chicken was moist and delicious. It had just the right amount of cheese on it. Great Italian food! Glad that we stopped by. Every course from the appetizer to the dessert was awesome. The complimentary bread came warm with oil and vinegar and had cheese on top. We had arancini for our appetizer and it's the best that we've encountered so far. It's stuffed with the perfect balance of cheese. Armando's is the closest I've gotten to Italian food in Orlando. Their spaghetti carbonara has always been my go-to-- firm noodles, perfect sauce, and pancetta for a kiss of salt on the tongue. The bruschetta as an appetizer is an excellent choice. I would approach it by placing the tomatos on your plate and having one with each bite of bread. That way you make less of a mess. We decided to try something new with the pizza. The San Giovanni is good but not my favorite by these guys. I would chose the Prosciutto e Fichi as a no doubt crowd pleaser. read more

I'm so upset to have to update my review, but my second visit was absolutely horrible. My in-laws were in town visiting, and we were celebrating my father in laws birthday and mother's day for my mother in law. Since my husband and I have dined here before and we had a wonderful experience, we suggested going to Armando's for an Italian dinner to celebrate. We did not have a reservation, however we figured we'd be okay since this restaurant is a good size. The four of us parked and approached the restaurant. It was 9:05 pm and there were two restaurant employees taking in the patio furniture. I knew they closed at 10 pm (I looked it up online) however I figured I'd verbally confirm with the men taking in the furniture. When I asked, an older balding man with glasses responded rather abruptly "Less than an hour!" He didn't seem to be in such a good mood, I thought to myself. Upon entering, the same person "greeted" us at the desk. I use the word greeted loosely seeing as he didn't make eye contact and just said "how many" before darting off to a table with our menus. We could hardly keep up. The way he threw our menus on the table and his lack of friendliness made our whole party feel so uncomfortable. I made it to the table first, and without looking up he mumbled something to me. I couldn't make out what he said so I said "I'm sorry?" And again without looking up he raised his eyebrows and said "I'll get you water now and be right back." We were all sitting at the table by the time he came back with a pitcher of water and his mannerisms were so rough as he was pouring the water and slamming our water cups on the table. It felt as though we were such an inconvenience to this person that we walked in for dinner. My father in law confirmed that the restaurant in fact closed at 10 pm and he said yes. We then asked if it was okay that we dined in the restaurant at that time and again without even looking up he raised his eyebrows and slowly shook his head yes. Then he walked away. After that we all looked at each other and agreed we were all VERY uncomfortable being there so we got up and left. As we were walking out, the rude waiter asked my in laws if everything was ok and they said that we changed our mind. The waiter then shrugged and said "Okay!" Once we got in the car I called the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager. I was then told he was unavailable because he was helping tend to a large party that had just been seated. I never got a chance to talk to the manager, however if that large party was the reason we were treated so poorly, then those employees need some retraining. I did see a large table when we were there, however it was only that table and one other couple dining in the restaurant when we walked in. We ended up going to Bulla in Winter Park and had a GREAT experience. It was night and day the way we were treated. The way we were treated at Armando's that night made me feel like we were a bunch of homeless people that just walked in off the street asking for a cup of water. After our experience I don't think I will ever return to this location. I will not recommend this location to anyone. I cannot speak for the Winter Park location, however I can only imagine it's better than this one. read more

They did not have any parking places so out of the five of us that could not get in the restaurant because of that, three of us ended up at Armando's in College Park.
