And the program is very very inexpensive and fun for the kids. They even get a ID card with there picture on it which allows them free range balls for the season. The course itself is a nine hole layout with par 3s and 4s. Also next to the club house is a large building with a state of the art training center. Great value for the dollar and friendly knowledgeable staff.

Unfortunately, what should have been a wonderful family memory was completely ruined by the behavior of one of their course marshals, older black gentlemen, he said his name was Mr. Smith. When we arrived, we were upfront and told Mr. Smith that we had only played on a golf course a few times. Instead of using that information to be helpful or patient, he used it as a reason to single us out and hover over our group for the entire round. We understood the pace of play expectations and made every effort to keep up, but the constant monitoring felt more like harassment than course management. When I accidentally drove onto the green, instead of calmly explaining the mistake, Mr. Smith became hostile and condescending. He spoke down to me and my son, refused to let me speak, and physically snatched the key out of our cart. There was no professionalism, no patience, and no basic human respect. We were paying customers on a family outing, not children being disciplined. We did not finish our round. We gathered our belongings and left. We drove up the road to the University of Maryland Golf Course, where we were greeted warmly and treated with complete professionalism by Director Jeff Maynor. That experience reminded us what a welcoming golf environment actually looks like, and it is a standard Paint Branch clearly needs to work toward. I am a federal employee at NASA Headquarters, and many of my colleagues frequent this course. I will be sharing this experience with them. I will also be reporting this matter to the Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation. Golf should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone, including families and newer players. The way we were treated does not reflect that value at all.

Disappointing. Not such a great place to work. They do not offer full time employment and under pay…read moretheir employees (only $12 an hour). Not a living wage! Although the club does look nice and has a lot of space...the management is too concerned about the "members" needs and requests and not enough about their employee's needs. They have a crappy "break room" which the food is not of good quality and it was reported that a few employees got sick from eating the food for lunch and had to close down for a while. They also have a ridiculous "no cell phone" policy...you can't even use your cell phone in case of an emergency which is dangerous....and could lead to a lawsuit! You are expected to come into work super early on a Sunday morning at 7am just to be there in case members show up... sometimes members didn't even show up at all for their reservations without notification They only dedicate one day a year (Christmas holiday party) to reward their employees for hard work. Be cautious if you work in the tennis department you will get laid off or have your work hours reduced during the winter season when the outdoor tennis shop closes and indoor shop opens! I would not recommend this club to prospective members or anyone looking for full time employment.

We did not know what to expect and left with a great workout, fun experience, and my wife, 4 year old daughter, and I all interested in golf. First off, the staff was amazing! Marquis has been golfing since he was 6 and gave us some quick tips that immediately improved our swing. They also had great cocktails and food and we loved having a private room where we could play music, watch the game, and play and learn at our own pace. They have multiple games including a driving range, courses, and a game where you aim at monsters (which our daughter really enjoyed). The staff provided great recommendations on each game. We immediately signed up for a subscription- the prices were really reasonable, hours are accommodating, and we envision going on our own to practice, bringing our daughter (she's been asking to go back), or going with friends. This would also be a lot of fun for corporate events or team building even if you don't golf and we are looking forward to bringing our teams in the near future. Fun, great for many audiences, and an amazing resource for improving your game!

The restaurant was extremely busy since it was the weekend, but he remained attentive, professional, and friendly throughout our visit. When we received the wrong pizza, he handled it promptly and made sure everything was corrected right away. This isn't typically the kind of establishment I would gravitate toward, but the level of service truly made the experience memorable. Great customer service always stands out, and he definitely delivered that.

The back bar was closed for no apparent reason so we sat in the front. Someone did come and take our order. We got four cocktails (four people) and ordered chips and dip and a trio of hummus. We later flagged someone down and got pretzel sticks - note "flagged someone down" because for the rest of the evening if we wanted anything, including to pay, that is what we did. Multiple times we had to go bug the golf counter lady because the wait staff sure as hell wasn't interested, even though there were like 3 of them at the bar doing absolutely nothing. The chips and dips appeared long before anything else. Including water, which we asked for. Disgusting. The salsa was both really smokey and sugary sweet and my group speculated it had to have been canned. The guacamole was slightly better but it was obvious from the brown color and dull flaor it was probably made in a big batch and fridged much earlier in the day. Gross. The other two food items were decent. The pretzel sticks were particularly good. As for the cocktails? I wouldn't be able to tell you because they never came even though we asked about them repeatedly and were told oh they're coming. We watched multiple people dicking around at the bar for a good half hour while we waited. At one point one of them started sweeping up. We had watched the drinks go into the little ordering machine. We nudged them. Guess they could not be bothered. Eventually we had eaten all three of our heavily staggered food items and still no drinks so we decided to cancel and get drinks elsewhere. We finally flagged a waitress and she literally came up to us and said your drinks never came. No shit. I said we wanted to just cancel them. She literally walked away from our table without saying a word. No let me go tell a manager, let me check on that, nothing. Just walked away silently. Were we being punished? We waited a good ten, maybe fifteen minutes after that? Then a member of our party went up to the golf counter to ask if he could just pay there for our food. Then of course the waitress comes rushing over to have us pay. Guess she wanted that tip. This was insane. We were there for like an hour and they could not be bothered to make us our cocktails.

It is very easy to get to from central NW since it is right off of 16th street. It only costs $25 for 18 and there are some pretty cool, challenging holes. This is a great course if you are looking to not take yourself seriously and have more of a practice round. The Bad: The course is not very well maintained. The fairway is rough and the rough is ruffffffff. Be prepared to lose a lot of balls. Because the fairway is long, even a good shot can be hard to find. The only thing that kept me from going through all the balls in my bag is I found so many. It was obvious balls are hard to see/find on this course cause I would constantly step on them in the fairway and realize no one else was anywhere near me so someone previously must have lost it. Also the course is relatively hilly (which at times is cool) so spotting where your ball went became even more difficult. Because of this and the hazards everywhere I don't think I could ever put money on a round with my friends here. Another agitating characteristic of this course is the hole lengths. I felt like every par 3 was 180-200 yards, which for most casual players (who would be the only people to go to a course like this) is a very awkward distance. There also isn't any par 5s, which at least makes you feel better about your score since I believe par for the course is 66. I will probably come back to this course some time when I really don't care about the round I am playing, but most of the time I am going to drive the extra ten minutes and $10 to play at Langston.
