I'm a new golfer, okay well I wouldn't call myself a golfer but I went to visit for the first time to use the driving range and it went great! My only issue is that there wasn't a tee on the mat so I didn't get to use my driver but other than that it was nice with clean facilities!! I'll definitely be going back!!

Commenting for the range & price. Very affordable golf course with small but decent practice range. On a hot summer day, try to get there early since the spots with shades tend to fill up fast. We love this place mostly because for golf noobs like me, the price is cheaper than some other ranges.

Over priced for a public course. Pace of play is slow when crowded. New cart path crosses over the fairways impacted play.

Nice, simple 9 hole course. Nothing fancy. A lot of short holes to practice with short irons. Great for beginner play.

But this one is just as great and has a few games that we got to enjoy for 30 minutes free. So we took full advantage of that after we did the course. Now I'm not going to lie I didn't think the food would be as good as it was...but oh boy it was very good and cooked fast. I got some wings, guacamole and chips, and tacos and my man got a pizza. We didn't think the pizza would be a full pizza but it was like a large. The drinks we got were very good I got a raspberry lemons drop and orange creamsicle drink and he got his frozen margaritas. I also had a few glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon to round out the night. For a Thursday night it had a great amount of people not too crowded but not empty either. We ended the night sitting out on the courtyard until they closed. Great spot can't wait to go again!

The only genuinely friendly interaction we had was with the staff member at the front, who helped us book a mini golf game. We decided to grab food beforehand, which turned into an awkward experience. There was no clear host for seating, the bar was overwhelmed, and when we asked about getting a table and how ordering worked, we were met with noticeable attitude. The food also took quite a while to arrive, and the quality did not justify the wait. The pizza was sloppily made and comparable to Little Caesars. After eating, we lined up for our course. With our booking, we were given a scorecard and a list of rules. Some rules, like a maximum of six hits per person and waiting for each player to finish before starting, did not seem consistently enforced. At hole four, someone was supposedly meant to take drink orders, but like our other experiences, no one was there. Each hole had a pleasant garden aesthetic, though I wished there was more creativity or stronger theming. Despite the courses having DC inspired names, the designs felt fairly standard. We also tried the arcade, which included 30 minutes of unlimited play. Tickets could be used on claw machines for prizes like plushies, hats, and small items. There was a 30 second delay between swipes, and the system felt inconsistent. At times, the swipe would register without starting the game, forcing us to wait anyway. Several games were not functioning properly, including beer pong, and cornhole had stuck bean bags. With no staff overseeing the area, more machines became unusable as time went on. The arcade itself was still fun, but it would have been a better experience if more games were working and the space was less crowded. Toward the end, lines started forming for certain machines. I do not regret visiting, but the poor service makes it hard to justify returning. The arcade was a fun addition, but the mini golf itself felt average. I would also recommend eating beforehand, as the food here was slow and underwhelming.

The back bar was closed for no apparent reason so we sat in the front. Someone did come and take our order. We got four cocktails (four people) and ordered chips and dip and a trio of hummus. We later flagged someone down and got pretzel sticks - note "flagged someone down" because for the rest of the evening if we wanted anything, including to pay, that is what we did. Multiple times we had to go bug the golf counter lady because the wait staff sure as hell wasn't interested, even though there were like 3 of them at the bar doing absolutely nothing. The chips and dips appeared long before anything else. Including water, which we asked for. Disgusting. The salsa was both really smokey and sugary sweet and my group speculated it had to have been canned. The guacamole was slightly better but it was obvious from the brown color and dull flaor it was probably made in a big batch and fridged much earlier in the day. Gross. The other two food items were decent. The pretzel sticks were particularly good. As for the cocktails? I wouldn't be able to tell you because they never came even though we asked about them repeatedly and were told oh they're coming. We watched multiple people dicking around at the bar for a good half hour while we waited. At one point one of them started sweeping up. We had watched the drinks go into the little ordering machine. We nudged them. Guess they could not be bothered. Eventually we had eaten all three of our heavily staggered food items and still no drinks so we decided to cancel and get drinks elsewhere. We finally flagged a waitress and she literally came up to us and said your drinks never came. No shit. I said we wanted to just cancel them. She literally walked away from our table without saying a word. No let me go tell a manager, let me check on that, nothing. Just walked away silently. Were we being punished? We waited a good ten, maybe fifteen minutes after that? Then a member of our party went up to the golf counter to ask if he could just pay there for our food. Then of course the waitress comes rushing over to have us pay. Guess she wanted that tip. This was insane. We were there for like an hour and they could not be bothered to make us our cocktails.

Tickets were 22 dollars and it covers a drink so it's not that bad. Thankfully they do allow a 15 min grace period from your time slot, unfortunately the service was just not that good. The host was not that friendly and the bartenders didn't come off friendly either. There was holiday decorations which was cute but honestly the drinks were pretty expensive from like 19-23 dollars and the portions were not consistent, I saw that they gave two marshmallows to one customer but four to another. It might be better if you come to play put put but even when we got our fries we got no napkins or utensils without asking which I felt was not great.

In April 2019, it was with a couple of friends, and I was relatively impressed with the course. While it's a fairly simple looking mini golf course, there are some challenges. The course is nicely maintained and better than a couple of other area courses I've been to. It's above average for the area, but not the best I've been to around here. I do consider myself lucky to have only 2.5 miles from home since 2020. In April 2023, there was a Meetup group meeting here. However, there was a transformer power outage in the area, and they had to close the course before we started. He rescheduled the Meetup for another Monday 5 weeks later in May 2023. The Meetup organizer is great at mini golf, but he was having an off day explaining all the various challenges this course has, and he says it always throws him off some. I enjoyed hearing his stories, but for me, I enjoyed the course and its challenges (well until I saw my high score...haha). Overall, this is a nice course and will return in the future.

Happy to see the surrounding community and golfers alike came together to save this little course from both MoCo bureaucrats and greedy developers. For those who care about such things, this course was the original location for Argyle Country Club. ACC moved to its current location in Layhill after the club sold the course to the MoCo government in the late 1940s as plans were made to build the capital beltway (holes 3 & 4 are adjacent to 495 beltway). The original clubhouse did burn down so the current clubhouse is what the county built. Sligo is a 9 hole facility. Very short course and very walkable. I usually play here after work or put on the practice greens when I'm in the area and just wanna get away from things. Pace of play is almost always slow as most golfers who play here aren't very good or are learning the game. Also don't look to post your scores on this course as USGA doesn't have an official slope rating for this course. This is a great little course to learn the game, get a quick 9 in, or practice round. Staff is great, little pro shop is decently stocked (for immediate purposes of playing this course), great little snack bar is ok. Nice selection of beers (bottled, canned, and even a few on tap). Pitchers are also offered (lest they used to be at least). Staff have done a great job in keeping those course running along with Sligo Creek Golf Association (SCGC) and Friends of Sligo Creek to bring the First Tee to the course along with the live music concerts on Fridays (more info on both of those things available else ware...i.e. Google). All in all, support this course. MoCo bureaucrats and developers STAY AWAY!

I visited with my dad and brother to celebrate Father's Day, and we had a great time eating, drinking, and competing for bragging rights. For drinks, we ordered a Blue Moon, the Topgolf Tea, and the Breakaway Breeze (their World Cup special). All were solid choices for a summer afternoon. For food, we shared buffalo wings, a house salad, chicken nachos, chicken fingers, and fries. Everything was delicious, but I have to give a special shoutout to the nachos. They must have updated the recipe because gone are the days of receiving a plate with a handful of oversized chips. This version felt like actual nachos with plenty of toppings and was easily my favorite item of the meal. The service was good as well. Our server was a bit older and moved a little slower when entering orders into the handheld device, but he was friendly, attentive, and got every order right. At the end of the day, that's what matters. Now for the only downside: the pricing. Topgolf has never been cheap, and this visit felt especially expensive. We booked ahead and had to put down a deposit that went toward a total cost of about $150. I'm guessing there was a little Father's Day markup involved. That said, my dad loves Topgolf, so we'll probably keep coming back every year. The experience is always fun, and this time we even scored a bay on the main level right in the center, which made the day feel even more special. The biggest issue wasn't that our request to extend our bay was denied--it was how the situation was handled. A staff member repeatedly raised his voice to me when I asked for assistance, which was both unprofessional and inappropriate, especially during a corporate event. We were told that our bay could not be extended because a 10:00 PM reservation was scheduled. However, we remained on-site until after 10:15 PM and observed that the bay remained empty. We also have video showing multiple available bays after our reservation ended, which made the explanation difficult to understand. What was most disappointing was the response from management. Rather than addressing the concerns or attempting to resolve the situation, our feedback was dismissed. We've hosted Topgolf events in other cities and have generally had positive experiences, which makes this location stand out for the wrong reasons. Mistakes happen, but professionalism, honesty, and customer service should not be optional. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would hesitate to host another event at the National Harbor location.
