They…read morehave various coffee drinks and standard basic food items for sale including sandwiches, yogurt, bagels, oatmeal, pastries/cookies, and some canned/bottled drinks. This place is simple and mainly serves to provide convenience so that you don't have to venture to the cafeteria on the 1st floor... or worse yet, the vending machines. This place also stays open much much later (4:00 am, every day) than the the cafeteria and the gift shop (which also sells some snacks and coffee)--- see the pic I posted for the updated hours since what was originally reported was way off. Due to that convenience, it also tends to have a line during the morning and early afternoon hours, and every time I've walked by. There is no seating area since it's a small shop but the UWMC has tables and chairs outside; just past the Cascade elevators. Today I stopped by at around 5:00 pm and luckily there was only one person in front of me. I bought a Smokey Chicken Bacon Melt (pre-packaged). It was very tasty and probably would've been even better if I toasted it, or at least heated it up. But I was too lazy. Although it was delicious, the size was certainly not worth about $7.50 (includes tax). Probably would only stop by here again if I actually want a coffee or don't have the time to go to the cafeteria for food.

Seating options? Abundant. And not the awkward wobbly kind either. This spot is built for lingering. I grabbed a latte, sat down, and immediately fell into an art journaling trance. There's something about being surrounded by curated shelves of books and cute little treasures that just unlocks your brain. It's the kind of place where you look up after ten minutes and somehow an hour passed. This was my first visit, but it's already on my list of "places I'll actually come back to and get work done." A rare category, honestly. If you're looking for a café that feels like a creative reset button; this is a great one.

I just watched a woman wrestle and roll on the ground with her bull dog to stop it from attacking another dog. This is not okay. Until I see a posted sign forbidding dogs inside, I will not come here again. I will not risk being mauled for a cop of coffee. read more

I would note that this cafe does lack outlets but I was able to locate a single plug near the back. There is a table for you to get and refill ice water near the center of the cafe. Overall top tier work cafe to take a quick meeting or just grind out a few assignments. They have seated tables and also standing bar tables based on your preferences. They don't roast beans themselves, but source from various popular roasters like Idle Hands (from SLC) and Olympia (local to Seattle). POUR OVER - Price varies I tried two different pour overs during my visits: an Idle Hands Colombian that was on the pricier side and another more standard-priced light roast. Both were great! Each cup was well-extracted with a great bean-to-water ratio, allowing the fruity flavors of each coffee to shine. SQUASH HARVEST BREAD This made a great breakfast. It was moist and nutty with a subtle squash sweetness that was delicious. BLUEBERRY SCONE Very buttery with each bite packed with blueberries. Pretty standard scone, but I enjoyed it. The cafe itself has plenty of seating, and I was able to find a table on both visits (Sunday and Monday morning). Overall, Milstead became one of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle. Coffee was great across both visits, and I'd definitely stop by again the next time I'm back.

In my opinion, Push x Pull is the only shop I've found in Seattle that can truly compete with the best shops in those cities. I mostly drink cortado (a drink which leaves nowhere to hide) and Push x Pull executes them at a level I haven't found elsewhere in Seattle. The espresso is always dialed in, and the milk texture is ridiculous. The staff is also great. I frequently come in with my two young boys, who are not exactly known for sitting quietly, and everyone has always been incredibly kind and welcoming. If you're serious about coffee, go here.
