Disclaimer: Hargrove asked me to write this review through an email. They're offering a small price…read morediscount to write a review, though they don't explicitly say it has to be written any specific way or be positive. Normally, this would be a huge issue for me; I don't like companies incentivizing reviews. I've broken relationships with companies in the past just for asking (Hargrove should be careful about this) but I honestly have had a lot of trouble with businesses in Augusta being professional, and Hargrove was a really positive experience, so I'll break my rule this time. The big plus from them is attention to detail and the customer. From the receptionist to the tech at the house, everyone was really friendly and personable. Add in that they know what they're talking about, and are flexible (I had to change my appointment and they moved it with no issue) and you have the makings of a great business. It's just obvious from the start that they are good at what they do. I didn't have a single gripe with Hargrove after calling a few other pest services and feeling like I was asking a lot to pay someone for a service. Frankly, I've been really baffled in Augusta with how hard it is to find technicians or services from decent companies. Thanks Hargrove for being the exception to this. And thanks for getting rid or the spiders!

COPIED FROM MY FACEBOOK POST:…read more I am here to tell y'all DO NOT USE MOUNTAINEER PEST CONTROL. I have NEVER dealt with a company that (messed up) EVERY appointment. You sign into a contractual agreement, then they (mess) things up and you can't cancel. I've been sitting here for 40 minutes waiting for them to show up at 10:30 AM on the 10th of September only to call them and they try to tell me my appointment is on the 17th. Not only do I specifically remember the appointment day and time which I wrote down and recorded into my phone and placed on the calendar on my wall, how did I make an appointment for a day and time that I don't even know what my work schedule is? This (woman) tried to argue me down what day my appointment was. You don't incorrectly record the TENTH at TEN on a Friday that you go to work at 2 and wanted as early as possible. This is the THIRD time I called to ask where they were and the appointment IN THEIR BOOKS was the following week. *So Brandy in the office told my landlord that she was the owner and then later switched it up that she was the manager. Then, proceeds to tell my landlord that I'm a liar. That I made the appointment for the 17th and not the 10th. WHYYYYY would I lie about a pest control appointment??? She also would not give any information pertaining to the owner or management over her head.* They claim they send postcards when it's time for us as THE CUSTOMER to request inside service. Shouldn't you be calling me to set up an appointment to come inside and spray my home because why would I have pest control with a contract to pay if I'm not getting the full benefit?? Only one postcard has been received at my home since we started service maybe a year ago or a little more than a year ago. I guess I'm throwing the postcards away and lying about that too. After multiple attempts to speak with someone higher up and cursing them out on the phone, Courtney, who I made my initial appointment with calls me and apologizes and set up a new appointment which I wrote down as I was speaking to her and took a picture of. Thank you Courtney for being so kind as to realize a mistake was made and an apology and not a "No... YOU'RE wrong" which is what got me so angry in the first place. We switched from Borden because of the same reasons. ---swipes over to the Yelp app

I am writing this review because of the experience with this company. I thought that they would…read moretreat us well because of being used by the builders of our home. I am sharing this because of my disappointment. We were unlucky. At first we had the appointed employee come faithfully. We were happy for a while, however, we always saw various pests in between. My husband convinced me that you can't get them all. However, I felt that it could get better. I called the office to request the appointed employee to spray inside. He had usually sprayed outside. He came inside once. We have had this service since April, 23. The one time he came in, we discovered only one ant that was seen. We were happy, however, during the next visit, I asked the appointed employee to come inside, however, he stated that he didn't need to and he was spraying something outside that should help. However, about a week or so later, all-----broke loose. We had ants everywhere. The bathroom, baseboard, etc. They agreed to return again for $91 charge for October. By then, the ants had moved to the kitchen area. We discovered that they were in the sink, some cabinets, behind the stove and even in the Refrigerator! We were in trouble. We cancelled our service and because of that we paid for October and they stated that the pest control and termite control were connected. We had to pay $300 also. Unfortunately, we kept the termite service. I am terribly upset with our results for the pest control. I hope we don't feel the same about the termite control. I have not experienced this even in older homes. I don't understand what happened.......?
