We had taken…read morepictures of trucks in the area for a few years when different neighbors had gotten their driveways worked on, and we got quotes from those companies. The quotes and the neighbors' satisfaction with the companies were similar, but Gator's outstanding customer service really set them apart! The communication was fantastic every step of the process from Diane in the office, Chris the owner, and the super nice crew. We also were impressed that the owner didn't try to get us to widen the driveway until we suggested it ourselves, even though he had thought it would be best if a certain grassy area was filled in with pavement. The crew was so respectful, friendly, polite, and super experienced! Every one of them worked hard to make sure they extended the driveway to the exact spot we wanted, and they were very careful to grade it properly to keep water away from the house as we had requested (since water had been collecting and causing some sinking before). They seemed to take pride in their work and to get a great sense of satisfaction for doing a high-quality job. Since bad weather had postponed the new driveway, the crew even worked the day before Thanksgiving, when many people take the day off. The new driveway is such an improvement and really gives our house curb appeal! We are so glad we chose this company, and we will keep using them to keep our new driveway maintained!

If i could give less than 1 star, I would. This Company does NOT stand behind their work. I spent…read moreover $5000 on my yard with this company and I am left with a flooding mess. I called them out to look at the fact that their work was substandard and to point out the issues. The "foreman" (Dennis) said to me, after not being able to explain the issue, "well you signed the contract!" They put down some "compact dirt" and I never heard from them again. I have flooding and apparently zero drainage. I WOULD NOT trust them with a potted plant. If anyone wants to take a look at their work in my backyard, let me know - it speaks for itself! Business Owner Response: Yes, I did say that at that time and Dennis also said that they would follow-up after "adding compressed dirt." After his dismissive comment when I asked your company to look at what was not corrected, which your quality assurance person witnessed, that did not leave me with a feeling that anything would be done if I initiated contact again. You are free to come and see what it is going on now. Yes it was done in 2021 and we have been dealing with it ever since. We spend a huge amount of money and went by guarantees that Denis himself made about how this would all be fixed and it is obviously not. Everything was explained to him when he did the estimate, nothing changed but when he did the work and I brought the issue to his attention rather than addressing the issue, the response was, "well you signed the contract." I am happy to discuss further, if you would like. To be clear, I did not wait "almost two years:" your foreman and "quality" person came out shortly after the work was done. Your Foreman was very unprofessional and dismissive with his "you signed the contract" comment. That does not give the impression that you are concerned with trying to correct anything. Apparently, that was not reported to you by him or your quality assurance person.

    JES Foundation Repair

    JES Foundation Repair

We had a $27k contract for JES to stabilize the foundation of our garage in Charlottesville and to…read moreaddress water that would seep into the basement during heavy rain events. The main work was done very well and professionally. The contract, however, also called for drilling a long hole into the end of a wall through multiple cinderblocks to drain the water intrusion that was getting specifically into the basement's stairwell wall. There was no other access point to the bottom cinderblocks of the stairway wall. It was a clever solution written into the contract, and the provision specifically stated that JES would bring a 36-48-inch masonry drill bit in order to drill a hole long enough to accomplish the goal. After the team completed the main work, we pointed out the need to finish the job by drilling this hole, but they did not have such a long bit with them. We then reached out many, many times over many months to get this hole drilled. Most often we were met with silence, but when we ultimately have gotten a response, the person would say, "Sorry, we will get that done." Twice, JES workers have actually shown up -- but without a long drill bit. They would then look at the situation and understand why the long drill bit was needed, say they would arrange for it to happen, and then radio silence. After we posted a longer version of the story as a review, apparently higher-up JES management people got involved and pretty quickly sent someone out with the right drill and bit to finish the contracted work. Presumably, some HR training has happened also and given that the job is now complete with the vast majority of it having been done well and in a timely manner -- I've now upwardly revised my rating.

The foundation repair work was very good, except several items were left undone. I've been trying for two months to get someone out to look at a soft spot in my den floor and the separation between the front porch and the front door that occurred after the foundation was lifted. Rick Myers and Destany Bing took my calls until several weeks ago and now they just ignore me. I would recommend consumers go with another company.

He was knowledgeable and friendly and took measurements to prepare a quote. No pressure and very responsive to questions and provided the quote the same day before close of business. I visited the showroom to select carpet remnants for my basement stairs. They had a nice selection of quality materials. Showroom staff were friendly. Met the owner while in warehouse- they do a lot of business- and are very busy. Installers were on-time, friendly, and hard working. I paid extra to have large furniture pieces moved and they were careful and returned items to their previous place when finished. LVP installation was fast and done well. Trim work was also done well and quickly. I'm going to have to do some touchups on the baseboards due to variations between the old planks and the new and because the installers took the time to remove 40+ year old linoleum where the previous plank installers of the old floor has laid foam underlayment. Trim work and caulking looks good. Carpet install was also well done. Prices are competitive but the service is what sets them apart. Highly recommend.
