I normally don't leave reviews, but my experience with Garage Experts - Jacksonville was so…read moredisappointing that I feel compelled to share it in hopes of saving someone else from the same frustration.
After a thorough consultation, I hired them to coat my garage floor and stairs--an investment of over $6,000. I scheduled the installation the day after I received the keys on my new custom home, expecting a smooth, two-day process. What I got instead was a stressful, damaging experience.
On the first day, I received a photo from my neighborhood's Architectural Review Board asking if I had painted my garage doors. What they saw wasn't paint--it was a thick layer of dust that had spread inside and outside my home. My dark brown/black garage doors were light cream. My builder confirmed the dust was also throughout the inside and outside. When I contacted Garage Experts, I was told everything would be cleaned the following day.
On day two, while pressure washing, the team chipped the paint on the garage doors. My builder agreed to repaint the chip. However, Garage Experts left assuming my builder would also handle all cleaning, which he never agreed to. The dust left at the top of the garage doors damaged the paint. When I returned, I found dust everywhere--on light fixtures, fans, counters, baseboards, garage doors, and even inside my brand-new water heater. There were black smudges and floor coating on walls and trim. The home had never been lived in and had just been professionally cleaned. The damage and mess were overwhelming.
I contacted Garage Experts and spoke with the owner. He admitted the equipment used was faulty which caused the problem but couldn't explain why the job wasn't stopped. He offered to send cleaners, but by then my furniture and boxes had arrived, and I couldn't allow them access. Thankfully, my incredible builder stepped in, repainted the garage doors, walls, and trim, and helped me recover some of the home's appearance. My husband and I cleaned the rest--an exhausting process that took multiple days and hours.
Despite everything, the owner simply called this a "learning experience" and still sent me the full bill. When I questioned if he felt the job was worth over $6,000, he offered a $200 discount and responded, "Sorry you feel that way." I paid the bill, but I was left frustrated and disappointed.
Bottom line: I trusted Garage Experts with part of my dream home and was left cleaning up a huge mess--physically and emotionally. If you value quality, professionalism, and accountability, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.
