We had a great team: Clinton, Victor, Big Al, Mark, and Steve, Hector, and Jose -- we moved in stages so we had different combinations of these guys on different days. They are organized, strong as oxen, work so well together -- urging each other on and always so willing to do whatever you want. Victor actually RAN up the stairs carrying a queen mattress!! Clinton almost singlehandedly carried a sofa bed up 2 flights of stairs -- big Al right there helping and urging him on! And speaking of Clinton, can that man drive a truck!!!! He manoevered that big thing up and down steep driveways, in and out small streets with tight turns -- and calls it fun. We're downsizing, so we had things going everywhere -- new house, kid's house, storage units, Goodwill -- they didn't bat an eye -- got it all where it belonged. And they're SO conscientious -- not one thing got broken or lost -- they put down their own runners in your house, wrap door jams and stair bannister corners with padding so nothing gets nicked or scratched. If you need a delicate antique grandfather clock moved? They have a guy who knows exactly how to take it apart to move it and put it back together again!! Can't get everything in your new place and need to sell some of it? They can give you some ideas. Need some furniture stored for a while? They'll wrap it in paper to help keep it clean and protected. Need your place cleaned after you move out? Ask them!! And believe it or not, after a VERY long day of packing, lifting, loading, unloading, putting clocks and beds back together and placing furniture pieces upstairs and down -- they tossed a football around!!!! Cedar Park, TX has a ton of low hanging trees and steep driveways. My house happens to have both. The movers saved my life. I would have never been able to do this all myself. I tried to back a U-hual I rented up my driveway and I wound up scraping my driveway badly. At this time I knew I needed to hire professionals. I had to be out of my house fast. My closing date came up much earlier than I expected. My buyers wanted in now! I needed movers fast. I reached out to the office and spoke with Jose. He was able to schedule a last minute move for myself with three of the strongest guys I have ever seen. They weren't even tired by the time they were done. The crew was led by Steven. He had two helpers with him named Jose and Hector. Hector carried out the boxes while Steven and Jose rolled out the heavy items like my gun safe and dresser. The dresser I have is a monster. It had to be taken down a flight of stairs and I thought it wouldn't fit. I was wrong Steven and Jose padded it up and took it down in seconds. They used padded blankets to wrap everything I had in the house. Phenomenal display of moving. I had no idea that a move could go so smoothly. I was most worried about my antique china cabinet from 1897. It is made of wood and still has all of the original glass intact. The movers took special care and wrapped every piece of glass individually with a blanket. I looked over everything thoroughly and I haven't noticed any damage at all. It can sometimes be difficult to find people to trust and help you move. When they dropped everything off in Austin I told them I will call them in the future for my next move. Best. Movers. Ever. I have moved all over the United States. From New York to L.A. and from Wyoming down to Texas. I was amazed by the extraordinary performance by the movers at Army Ant Moving. I was looking for a full pack and move down to Cedar Park,TX. I was needing my stuff loaded in Arlington,TX and then driven down and unloaded. I asked several friends in Austin who they used and everyone said Army Ant. I called their office and I was greeted by a cheery gentleman who referred to himself as a Relocation Specialist. He was able to calculate a quote for moving and packing that came out to be twenty dollars less in the end, which was fine by me. I didn't have to purchase any supplies from the store for my move. The movers brought packing paper, tape, and boxes to my house. They started the day by individually wrapping each dish and glass from my kitchen. They then started boxing all of my books and other small belongings. I have moved a lot and I have never seen a company take the time to wrap every piece of furniture with padding or stretch wrap before it was loaded onto the truck. I didn't think in a million years that all of my stuff would fit into one trailer. The movers seemed to have taken advantage of every inch of space in the trailer because we even had room to spare. The unload went smoothly. I was amazed by their work so I decided to hire them to help me unpack too. I thought it was worth every penny I paid to hire these guys to help. I wanted to wait until the move was completed and I checked out my stuff before I posted my review. When I was in college I would always move my own furniture. Now that I'm starting to get older and my back is starting to give out, I decided to hire movers. I hired the movers to load my P.O.D. that I had dropped off in my driveway. I found Army Ant on Yelp.com and liked what I saw from the reviews. I spoke with Jose in the office and he scheduled me with 2-movers at their hourly rate. Two guys arrived for my move as scheduled. Big Al (The Muscle) and Hector(The Runner) got done in less time than I ever expected. They wrapped all of my furniture in moving pads I got at Harbor Freight. I was told that I would need to provide padding since my items were being stored which made perfect sense to me. I was worried that something might happen to my furniture while being transported by the POD company since who knows what happens to them once they are loaded and picked up. I hired Army Ant for the unloading part of the move a few days later. I guess they did a great job padding because once everything was unloaded and in my new house I carefully inspected every piece for damage. Not a scratch, dent, ding, or blemish on anything at all!!! I was most worried about my new Samsung Fridge getting scratched since it is stainless steel. I checked this over twice and it looked perfect! I was amazed. I just had the guys move out my furniture from the dorm rooms at UT. The University of Texas can be a difficult place to park and trying to carry big stuff down the stairs is not possible for me. Everyone else at school is trying to move out at the same time too and it can get hectic. I tried to park my truck near the school to load up and it got towed last year. Needing help I reached out to the movers at Army Ant. Their estimate came out to be right on the money. They used coverings for my doors, floors, and furniture. They told me they accept cash, check and credit cards. I found their office staff to be easy to communicate with. I had excellent customer support through out the whole move. All of the little items I have were packed up and individually wrapped with paper. The company installed video cameras in their trailers so the movers keep up a good pace. Not only did the movers do a great job but I was also impressed with how easy their website was to use. I filled out a form online with everything I wanted to move and they called me with a quote. I have never hired movers before, but I had to for this move. I was able to get everything out but the few things I need for finals. I wanted to have a clean space to work over the next few weeks. The movers took everything I had to storage and put it in a climate controlled unit. I will be calling the again to get them to move it all out when school starts up again in the fall. read more

They sent three of the most handsome gentlemen to help last weekend. I had a mess. The apartment looked like someone turned a wild wolverine loose. I don't like the way cardboard dries out my finger tips so I knew that I needed movers in a bad way. The last guys I used for my move took 8 hours. The Army Ants were able to move the same stuff in only 6 hours. Never once did I see any horse play or anyone talking on a cell phone. They loaded up and headed out Fast forward to the drop off. Each mover went piece by piece with me and we set up every room in my new apartment. The long walk up the high stairs didn't hurt these guys they just kept on moving up and down. Bottled water and Kool-Aid kept the fellows moving at a speedy pace. My vase and vessel collection is priceless. Most come from China and South America. I had them wrap it all up in paper and box each one separately. One by one the guys unwrapped them and you could tell each piece was shipped with care. The truck they used for my move was ginormous. They sent a 40 foot trailer and everything fit in really well. I had no issues with rubbing. It was raining cats and dogs that day. I'm so thankful that nothing received rain damage. This was my first move in Austin and ARMY ANT Moving helped me make sure its as smooth as it can be. Thanks Guys. I had read through many yelp reviews about many movers around - but this one was my pick in my interest to support local and small business - i also had seen the manager taking pain on replying to yelp reviews - to me it means they care about feedback. I had also seen there trailers parked when i drove through FM620. Submitted online request for quote and got a call back estimated to be a 2-3 hrs job ; on a simple hourly rate + fuel rate. Now I am sure, I made the right decision, Company called a day before to confirm, the 2 wonderful happy guys ( i like to see happy employees - for me its very important ) Luis and Alex called right before they started from office and was on time. Shake hands and i showed them around the tings that are moving out to new apartment. While Luis and me were going through paperwork; i can see Alex started moving my stuff not wasting anytime. Guys were quick and when reaching my new address Louis was helping connecting my washer dryer and found that i needed a new plug to hook up as power outlet is different; he explained me where to buy it from cost also how to do it myself. I just got a job in El Paso, TX and had to be there in a week. I had to get an apartment, find movers, pack everything, and get all of my utilities set up fast. Called several places and only got three calls back. I chose these movers because I felt that they knew the most about moving when I spoke to them on the phone. We planned everything out first. We had three packers come out to the house an box everything up. Each glass was wrapped by hand. Each dish had paper wrapped around it completely. They took all of my linens and blankets and had them boxed up too. The next day the move started. They brought one of the biggest trucks I have ever seen. They guys loaded up everything one piece at a time. Everything had a blanket wrapped around it when it went out the front door. It was raining that day and nothing got water damage. I followed them all the way back to El Paso. They got it all taken off the trailer and staged the house for me . I had them unpack it all. I didn't want to lift a finger and I didn't have to the entire time they were there. Looking back at all of this I could have never done it myself. If I had tried I would have probably thrown my back out and not be able to work now. read more

These guys just finished and they did a great job. I had them move all of my furniture from my house in Austin to my new house in Cedar Park. They sent a team of 4 movers for my 5-bedroom house. Steven introduced himself to me when he first arrived and then the movers began working. I went for the full service move that included packing, moving, and unpacking. They started by individually wrapping my dishes and glasses. I couldn't believe how fast they worked and how strong they are. We have a huge safe from the 1960's that we needed to move. I was worried that the guys would not be able to move it down the steps, but the movers had no problem at all. The movers were doing such a great job that I decided to order them pizza for lunch. When everything was moved into the new house I walked around and didn't see any damage to my furniture or house. Choosing the unpacking option was the greatest because I didn't have to lift a thing. The movers even arranged my furniture where I wanted it. I had some items go into a storage unit. I didn't think it would all fit but the movers some how seemed to squeeze it all in. We have now used Army Ant to help us move twice in the past eight months. They helped us unload our Pack Rat pods into our rental in August, and they were efficient and professional. We were so happy with their service, that when we were ready to move into our new house, we definitely wanted to use them again. Alex and Alex helped us this time, and they arrived exactly when they said they would. This move required loading up our stuff from the rental and then moving it into the new house. It did take longer than initially quoted, but I think that was from a mis-understanding when the appointment was made. None the less, we could not have done this without them. They were professional the entire time, and "Big Alex" was unbelievably strong. He even picked up a completely full file cabinet by himself! Without complaint or eye rolls, they moved a few pieces several times as we tried to find the best placement. It rained a little during the move, but that did not stop them. They pulled the last load of boxes in as the down pour came. I plan to NEVER move again, so we will not need Army Ant. However, I would highly recommend them to anyone doing a local move! read more

Steven and his crew are AMAZING! We just moved on Memorial Day weekend and of course it was raining!!! Steven called to tell me that they were running about 2 hours behind because of the weather. He said he would try his best to rearrange his crews so someone could come out in our time-slot. He called back soon after and said he pulled someone and he would be coming personally to move us in our normal time slot along with someone on his team. I was so glad because I have little kids and had my parents watching them and wanted to get their rooms set back-up before bed time. We are building a house and moved into an apartment temporarily. They were fast, professional and the price was competitive. I plan on using them again when we move into our new house in 4-5 months. The only negative was that my dining table was slightly damaged on one corner. They do go out of their way to prevent this from happening and wrap everything up in plastic and moving blankets so I am not sure how this happened. Our recent move with Army Ant Movers from the Austin area to the Dallas area was exceptionally good. We've moved over 15 times, so we've had our share of good moves and bad moves, but Army Ant and our moving crew of Alex, Hector, and Steven were amazing. They covered the front door and carefully wrapped each piece of furniture before loading it into the truck. They worked steadily and quickly, but carefully. When we got to our destination, they placed each piece of furniture where we asked, and at the end of the day, they suggested we go through the whole house and they offered to move anything from where we'd initially told them to a different spot. Then, when we got ready to pay, Alex said we owed LESS than the original estimate. We're frequently paid other movers more than the estimate, but never less. We encourage you to call Army Ant for an estimate before you make a move. When it comes to movers I have found that it can be hit or miss. With Army Ant I found a hit. BEST MOVERS EVER! I moved to Austin months ago and I still had most of my furniture and other belongings in Amarillo. I haven't had good luck with other companies in the area and I was very worried when I sent the movers to Amarillo to load up my storage unit. I went to their website and filled out their inventory list. Pretty simple. It had all the basics like name, address, and a list of items found in the home. After booking the move I then stopped by their office and left them my storage keys. They headed out to Amarillo the next morning and loaded up everything. I really felt they went the extra mile by calling me and keeping me updated along the way. I got a call from Jose saying "We have arrived and loaded up everything for you". This was wonderful news to hear. NO DAMAGE to report. Everything that came to my house was covered in blankets. First time using the movers at Army Ant. Very Impressive. I don't normally write reviews but I felt obligated to after my wonderful experience. I appreciate it when movers arrive on time. The guys arrived at my house early. I told them to send me the two strongest guys they had. Steven and Jose showed up and discussed the paperwork with me. After the paperwork was finalized they started wrapping and moving my furniture. A great combination of speed and care had everything loaded and unload in less than three hours. My antique record player is very precious to me. They movers were very careful and carried it upright so it would not upset the delicate electronics. The guys brought tools to break down my bed so we could get it out the door. There was no way it was going to fit unless they took it apart. I felt bad that my new apartment was on the fourth floor so I tipped the guys a little extra. Thank you for your support! God I Love Them!!More then fast and very professional,Steve and his crew came on time and made fast work of our very over loaded apartment.They took great care to wrap all my wonderful things that mean alot to me and I can't afford to have damaged.Wrapped the door frame as to not cost me any more money with the apartment and ran their butts off.When stuff was still left on the floor by myself from packing,these wonderful men grabbed it up and placed items in boxes and kept going. In fact, they finished faster than expected and the total cost of the move was less than estimated. They left everything in very good shape and nothing was broken. In fact, they identified other ways they could help me. Let me repeat this because this is a rare find in customer service these days - they identified other ways they could help me (example, while I was hurrying to Home Depot to find a new connector for the dryer, they called me and said if I picked up pads for the bottom of furniture, they would help me get them onto the heavy pieces to protect my wood floors. I usually find that these days people find ways to NOT help you and these guys really went out of their way to add value to their service. On Friday, we had the pleasure of doing business with Army Ant Moving. Jack and Lawrence called us prior to their arrival and were on time (if not a bit early which was awesome). This moving duo is experienced (Jack has 13 yrs). The two have worked together for 3 years and barely needed to communicate to one another during the moving process. Their synergy and camaraderie was key in completing our move quickly and under the quoted amount. They were extremely efficient, hardworking, friendly, safety conscious and worked exceptionally well as a team. None of our belongings were damaged thanks to their excellent wrapping skills, carefulness, equipment and tools used. I used Army Ant for a my move 2 months ago. I was very tentative at first because the last moving company I'd used damaged lots of my furniture. The first thing I noticed was how polite and helpful the girls in the office were. There were 2 that I spoke with on different occasions and both were knowledgeable and answered all of my questions, making me feel really comfortable about trusting them with my things. Their prices were more reasonable than some of the other companies I'd called. The movers arrived right on time and extremely time efficient. (which is great because I was moving with an hourly rate!) They were totally professional and took the time to wrap up my furniture and place it so that nothing happened to it in transit. The guys even went the extra mile, helping me move my more heavy furniture into the rooms upstairs.
