This was my first time using movers; I was always afraid my stuff would be damaged if I used movers. Since we were moving out of our apartment into a house I bought, I figured that using movers for the last time I'm moving is worth paying movers for. Our two man moving team was AMAZING! Our movers were professionals, and moved everything very quickly. We did our due diligence by moving things that we wanted the movers to move into the living room to make it easier on them. They worked quickly, laughed at my dumb jokes, and got everything moved out and moved into the new house in 2.5 hours. They moved everything where it needed to be, and even helped arrange our upstairs living room area to make it completely functional. I am usually a cheapskate and hate paying for things I can make at home (food) or things I can do myself (moving). As I've gotten older I've learned that sometimes it's worth paying someone else to do something for you because the stress of doing it yourself is not worth it. With Austex, it was worth every. I needed help with a move in Mid November 2019 and saw Austex in Yelp. I called Jim and he came over to my house to look things over and gave me a quote on the SAME DAY. The price was reasonable and his 3 guys were total pros moving me to San Antonio on a cold, rainy day. So, I hate people touching my stuff...as in I take a separate suitcase from my husband on trips so my stuff doesn't touch his stuff. I'm weird. So naturally when I look to move the aforementioned precious stuff, I get anxious about who will be touching it. I gave Austex a call based of several friends recommendations and boy did they ever deliver. I called Austex with not a lot of notice and they were so nice, friendly, accommodating and reassuring about what great hands I'd be in! They fit me into the schedule lickity split! Now, back to my stuff. Not one thing was harmed! They took exceptional care with all of my precious stuff. I consolidated went from about 3500 sq feet to 2500 sq ft so it was a lot of stuff!! I thought it would be a long move and take forever. They were so quick and efficient while being exceptionally careful. Friendly, nice, honest and completely awesome. And for you cost concerned folks, I had price shopped several places and they were completely cost competitive and lower than other bids I received. The price I paid was the price I was quoted. And for the quality of move I received, I scored a major deal! Moving can be a nightmare, especially if you enlist the wrong help. I've been there, and it's awful (ps - be VERY careful on Craig's List). On the other hand, moving can be pretty OK with the right team. Jim and his team at Austex Moving were awesome. They were polite, professional, and very respectful of our furniture and real estate. I had thought their pricing was competitive up front, and now that I've seen them work, it's definitely a fantastic value. No need to deal with an annoying inventory checklist -- these guys will work on an hourly (or half-hourly) basis, but you won't catch them lagging to milk the clock. Our stuff was moved from RR to Pflugerville by 3 young guys , fully energetic and detail oriented. They were on time and very careful while moving my stuff (some really heavy pieces like 70' TV, curio, bar, foosball table, king mattresses etc) No dents or scrapings on the wall in the old as well as the new home... The move started at 9AM until 2:30PM. Wish they got a bigger truck that fit all my stuff... Unfortunately we still had to rent a U-Haul to move the remaining 10% of the stuff. They did however offer to make two trips but we figured that it would be cheaper to U-Haul it. Overall we are happy with Austex moving. If you have a lot of stuff to move I would recommend pushing for a bigger van upfront to avoid multiple trips. They do take their time moving stuff so it is better to get moved in one trip. We hired these movers over the weekend and the ones that came the first time we're really nice good guys however, there was some large wood they weren't able to fit because it wasn't loaded in first which I don't blame them for. But we were told they weren't able to go back after unloading the trailer because they had another move to get to. So we were told they could come do it Monday morning and it would be better cause we wouldn't be charged for the drive time to go back to the old residence. When Monday came a different crew was sent. And I ended up being told when I paid that it was a 2 hour minimum which was not explained to me prior (it was when I booked originally for the original move) I assumed this would just be added on to the first move and we would be paying for 1 hour since that's what it would have been had they went back to get it the same day. This couldn't have been all a miscommunication but I felt taken advantage of and ending up paying a lot more for this move than I should have had they done it all in one day. Overall my experience left me very disappointed. Update: the owner reached out and remediated the issue. It was a miscommunication and I really appreciated the quick response. I would definitely recommend and use these movers in the future. read more

We can not say enough good things about these movers. We used them to move out of our home into Austin Mobile Storage Units and then again on the other side moving into our new home from the units. They were attentive to everything we said, young but super professional & amazingly capable of moving all large items with ease. Nothing was scratched no walls were dinged. On the first move the owner came out to help and check on things and make sure it all fit in the units. The second move they were running late from another job (they called to let us know) and upon arriving late they brought 5 guys instead of 3 that we paid for and got us all moved into our 3000sq for house in 2hrs! If your looking for a moving company that is professional, you should cross this company off your list. They are incredibly rude and inconsiderate of neighbors that are coming and going while they are packing up their truck. They parked in front of my driveway not once, but twice. I had to have my son at work and couldn't get out of my driveway. They took their time moving and my son was late for work. No apology for parking in front of my driveway, just a bunch of rude remarks and yelling. Guys, not a good way to attract future customers. If they speak to other people like that, makes me wonder what kind of damage they would do to your personal belongings. read more

These guys were great! They were able to fit us in earlier in the day than we originally planned, and they called first thing to ask if we wanted to bump our appointment up. We were happy to do so, since we originally wanted an earlier time anyway. They were super speedy and efficient loading everything into their truck and then unloading at the new house. They even managed not to damage anything, which is amazing to me. After our hired company just didn't show up, Jim called me back after a frantic message I left. He even texted to make sure I knew they could help us right away on our original move day, even though it was already after noon! His crew came and completed the job in 3 hrs less time than was quoted to me by other companies. They were very careful with our stuff and super efficient. This is the first time I've used Austex moving. I usually go with the historical genius named moving company. But they quoted me $1800 for this move. So I went on the search for a new moving company. I was looking to schedule a move for 2-3 days out and after calling about 5 other companies I came across on Yelp first, I finally called Austex. Jim was the only person I left a message with that called me back within 30 min on a Friday evening after business hours. He was able to schedule me for when I needed and was extremely knowledgeable and nice about discussing/estimating my move and the size of crew to use. Didn't try to oversell me either, he legitimately recommended what he felt would get the job done at as least of a cost to me. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the move the day before due to having a pet odor issue in the new house that needed to be treated before moving everything in. Not only was he understanding when I canceled the afternoon before, but able to reschedule me immediately once the odor was treated. Jim and Shannon showed up on time like they said they would and worked non stop from start to finish. Taking perfect care of ALL of my items. I watched these guys move the entire house and not once did I get nervous or feel like they were doing something wrong. Any piece of furniture that needed to be wrapped was done so efficiently. All while maintaining a great attitude. Even when I told them the workout equipment and weights were going upstairs in the new house. Once in the new house, we worked out a system for naming each room. We had labeled each box for the new rooms, so most of the time they were able to put em where they go without having to tell them. If the boxes weren't labeled or it was furniture, we would simply say the room name and it would be put in the correct location. Closest thing to magically having our things appear in the new house as I can imagine. Bottom line... They took absolute care of all of my belongings as if they were their own. They treated my family and I with respect (even entertaining my 3yr old son who wouldn't leave them alone). Didn't try to drag out the process just to get an extra few bucks. The best part of it all, the price! The total cost came in at HALF of what I had budgeted for. These guys have extremely competitive rates! Jim knows how to run a business and treat his customers (and employees from what I saw) with the utmost respect. Next time I move, which hopefully wont be for many years, I will definitely use them. I'm a fan of Austex Moving. After a nightmare with another local mover booking then cancelling (read the review) I was a little hesitant to go with another small local outfit. The Yelp reviews for Austex encouraged me and I know now that they were right. In fairness, I guess I can't say that everything was 100% perfect, but everything that matters went right. We had zero damage to our stuff which is fairly amazing. The guys worked hard and got us out of a storage unit and into our new home in a little over 5 hours. Mind you, they called to say they'd be 15-30 minutes late, which turned into over an hour late for the first two guys, with two more showing up an hour after that. The two last guys looked like high-schoolers, but were polite and diligent so good for them. Nice to see there are still a few kids willing to work hard these days. Austex is a little on the casual side (like Austin)..no uniforms and a plain white, beat up trailer but they packed the trailer carefully and wrapped the furniture and again nothing was damaged. I'm a little torn on the rating...I WANT to give them 5 stars but with half the crew starting an hour late and the rest two hours late...I gotta ding them by a star. They are friendly, polite, careful, and diligent. Where it matters most, they do a great job. They can learn the marketing polish later if they want to grow their business. I moved to a home in Westlake built on the side of a hill with a tricky and challenging driveway. I was concerned not only with my furniture but with the safety of my movers as they skillfully positioned the truck down the driveway backwards -half inch by half inch, by inch. When that was done they had to unload the truck and walk up a flight of crumbling stone stairs, over a creaky narrow wooden deck and through a small door twenty feet in the air Jim, Brent and Jose knocked it out with a combination of brute strength, finesse and grace that only moving professionals with many year experience can pull off...and they did it with a smile and a wonderful attitude. I called Jim at Austex moving to schedule a move from my rental house into my new home a few miles away. I saw their ad in an email and the price was very compelling so I decided to take a chance. I previously had mixed experience with the reliability and quality of movers. This was certainly not the case with Austex.
