Army Ant Movers moved my 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 story home on January 28th. They sent over a salesperson, Adam, who spent an hour at my home calculating a flat rate "guaranteed" price. The price was not guaranteed at all, as we paid almost $300 more than the quote because of all kinds of things they "did not know about." Adam was at the house so what did they not know about? They did show up on time, and they worked hard. I just had the felling of being nickle and dimed at the end of the move. If I hired this company again, I would definitely pay them hourly, and not on a "guaranteed" flat fee price. read more

I had a big move from Fort Worth to Austin. The movers at Army Ant came all the way to my house from Austin and packed my house into boxes. Once all of my small things had been packed the movers started padding and stretch wrapping the furnitue. They then moved all of my belonging onto the truck and we were headed to Austin. Once in Austin they unloaded everything and for each item they would ask where I wanted it in the new house. The price was comparable to other companies but their service was far superior. I have moved with other companies in the past and it was a nightmare. These guys are professionals. They arrived on time and got the job done right. read more

TL;DR - These guys are the best. Would definitely use them again and recommend them highly. A co-worker had recommended a different moving company. I phoned three times and never even got a courtesy call-back to say they were too busy and/or didn't want my business. I turned to Yelp (yay, Yelp!) and saw the great reviews for AAM. Within less than 15 minutes after I submitted the online form, I got a phone call and a very reasonable quote. The day of the move, Joe and Dylan arrived precisely at the appointed time and immediately set to work. About 90 minutes later, the apartment property manager and maintenance man showed up to do their walk-through. The maintenance guy tapped the manager's shoulder and said to her, "This is the first moving company I've ever seen here that wrapped the door." She told me, "Bring me some of their cards. I get asked for referrals all the time and I'm always hesitant to give them because I feel that makes me partially responsible for the quality of the work." These guys were great! They covered the furniture in blankets and moved them carefully. Nothing was damaged and when our outdoor furniture started leaking rusty water, they laid down blankets so it wouldn't damage our carpeting, when they carried it out to the porch. I cannot say enough great things about this company and the employees! I have two separate success stories with them: would be a TLDR deal. Kudos to whoever trained these guys and definitely to the guys, themselves. Luis, Jose R, and The take-away is Luis and Jose did the job packing, separating and boxing a real hodgepodge of household items, some of which stayed and some of which were boxed for moving, and were obviously extremely experienced and professionally proud of their work. They were trustworthy. What had seemed overwhelming and impossible for me was done so impressively well that I recommend them (but they may wish I didn't ;-) to anyone truly worried about being disorganized because of being too physically disabled to "prepare" for packing and movers. There came order out of the chaos, which can seem so overwhelming when it comes to your personal belongings! These folks WERE as good as it gets. I used them for a move last week in Leander, TX. We started with a general quote based upon my house size, then I furnished an item list to help narrow it down. Since my husband and I wanted to save as much as possible and move the little things, they switched us to the hourly plan. From the time Matt, Matt and Lawrence arrived, they never stopped moving and ended up cutting our quote nearly in half- from a seven hour move to a four hour move. Best movers!!! Matt and DJ did an excellent job of moving my grandmothers things in Burnet. They were professional, courteous, and made sure everything was done in a timely matter. They covered all doorways and wrapped all her furniture, not a single thing was damaged in the move. Army Ant was also surprisingly affordable when compared to other moving companies that wanted to charge outrageous travel fees in addition to the hourly rate. I called around the Austin area for a mover and the weekend I wanted to move was booked up by 5 different places. My fiancé and I tried moving ourselves, however we are both at the age where our bodies just flat out said... "NO!" We used Army Ant for a local move and did our usual method---hire movers for the "big stuff" and then spend another five days getting the rest of our crap to the new place. If I had known how fast these guys were, I would have secured more boxes and packed up everything down to the salt and pepper shakers and that last pack of SOS pads under the sink! It's always an "iffy" deal to hire movers who charge by the hour but HAVE FAITH in this company. They are top notch pros. Not only are they fast, but also uber careful. They cover your doors, floors, etc and take extra care to ensure they don't cause any damage to walls. They moved us from 620/183 to North Cedar Park and had it done in 3 1/2 hours. Again, if I had known how fast they were I would have packed things up and let them move more. NOTE: We rented Bronco Boxes for our move and after the Army Ant guys saw this they said they can get these types of boxes at a much better discount. UGH, wish I had known. We moved from one location in Cedar Park to Twin Creeks, and our house has a major uphill driveway. They did an awesome job, and they worked non stop, and we are a family of 5. We've never used a moving company before but we needed to move quick. These guys were so fast and efficient. They don't stop and waste time. I actually wished they had taken a breather, I was exhausted and I was just carrying smaller items around and cleaning. Hector and Alex were super nice, they do as little or as much as you need. They wrapped all of the larger furniture in blankets and even had a few huge boxes for items that weren't quite small enough to pack so they wouldn't shift around the truck. My final move to Dallas required a lot of paperwork because it was being reimbursed. So I actually have used Army Ant movers twice in the last two weeks. The first move was done by Steven & Jose, who arrived early (yay), and were fast, efficient, and extremely polite. The hourly rate was one of the more reasonable around, and they got everything moved in 2 hours. They did such a great job, I decided to use them again to move me from a 3 story apt to a house. (First move was done for moving some things to my parents house from my late grandmothers house). Anyway, again, they arrived early (double yay), and Hector & Tony were machines and knocked out our move in 3 hours. They were really friendly, polite, and did our move quickly and efficiently. The one thing I would comment about is we were quoted a higher hourly rate plus a "travel fee" on the second move, that was not charged in the first move. Although the hourly rate on the 2nd move wasn't significantly higher, and the added travel fee was $30, I thought it strange they fluctuate prices like that. First move was done on a Saturday, 2nd move was done on a Tuesday. But all in all, the service is great and they make the move fast & painless. Would most definitely use again and recommend. read more

Our experience with Army Ant Moving was fantastic!! Prepping with Jose was easy and he was so patient and flexible with our ever-changing plans. The crew was incredible - showed up in masks, so that was nice. They were knowledgable and worked with us to reconfigure our sectional more than once. They were fast and careful - the perfect combo! I have hired 4 different movers in the last 6 years. Army Ant Moving has been by far the best. Upon arriving, Javier and Jose R introduced themselves and greeted me professionally. They got to work and right away I noticed their attention to detail. Unlike other movers who appear to move slowly and run out of gas during download, these guys maintained a steady speedy pace throughout the move, without damaging a single item. They use a very effective method of quickly wrapping up furniture using pads and large rubber bands. They're like ninjas! They took care with every item and even placed blankets in the entrance of my new apartment to keep the carpet clean. They completed the move in less time than previous companies, confirming that better methods yield better results. I saved money and I very much appreciate the military discount!
