What did I pay for labor? I'll never know. I know that it was $85.00 for him to come ring the door bell. He told me the cost of the part ($285.00)but did not tell me that it included the cost to install it. I thought that it was the initial 85.00 until I went on line and got a ball park figure for the part, which was less than half (at the high end), which meant the the rest was the labor. OK Good for him that he can get that much but then the doorbell ring charge was tacked onto that. Ow. In response to owner's reply: I respect the need to cover costs such as vehicle and equipment maintenance, marketing, insurance and all of that. Those are the costs of doing business which gets settled up at tax time. I'm not diminishing the value of your expertise and training. It is because of "the industry standard" that actually hurts your industry because it pushes people to go to You Tube and then to Amazon/Walmart/ Ebay for the parts in order to do the work themselves. In a way, you're helping humanity by forcing people to be more self-reliant at your own detriment. I respect charging for a service call if I did not agree for you to do the work. Your time is valuable and you would be at another site making money if I didn't hire you. But, it was more than your assessment. It was the part and the labor to install the part, which ethically could have absorbed the service charge. As a massage therapist, I don't charge people to tell them why they are in physical pain then charge them again to take them out of their pain. There is no reason to make a killing at each job, both the big ones and the small ones. It boils down to greed, not need. read more

They helped me to decide between oil and gas furnace, and were very patient with providing additional estimates to help me decide which route to take. Whether it's a small repair or a big job like a furnace replacement, they will be there for you. They arrive on time, and you get a very good notification system with reminders and tracking of them in route to you. Their pricing was reasonable, too. I especially liked to work with Jasen Arndt, the owner. He does not cut corners; he does everything with knowledge and responsibility, and takes pride in his work. He is also personable and easy going. When he works with assistants, he takes the responsibility to supervise them and he treats them nicely, too. They leave their job site clean of any debris. Before selecting them to replace my old furnace, I contacted several different HVAC companies. They were subpar on so many levels. One word describes this company ~ HONEST! These days it's hard to find someone you can truly trust. Our furnace wasn't lighting. Jasen of Arndt Heating & Cooling was recommended by a friend. I called him and 20 minutes later he was in my basement. After he did some testing, it was thought that our circuit board was the issue. The cost of a new board was $299 and I told him to go ahead and replace it. After replacing it, the furnace was still misfiring. Jasen worked for another 20 minutes or so and then came to us and apologized. The circuit board was not the issue. The furnace had not been properly cleaned (by a different company 4 months ago!) and there was a buildup that was tripping the safety switch. Jasen cleaned the area and put the original circuit board back. I was basically charged a service call. This guy could have easily left us with the new circuit board after he fixed the issue and charged us an additional $300 but he did not. He is THE guy to go to for your heating and cooling needs. I will only have Arndt Heating & Cooling in the future. I wish I could rate him higher than a 5! Honest, hard-working, and reliable individual! Great company! read more

My furnace was not transmitting the heat to the vents. A local company determined the motor died and a replacement part would not be available for a week but a new furnace can be installed by mid-week, the price for both options were astronomical. Two of my close friends recommended Jason who described him as being a good guy, honest and very knowledgeable about his craft. I contacted Jason's office and he was able to replace the motor the same evening for a fraction of the price I was offered earlier. We had called 2 other companies in to take a look at our furnace that wouldn't turn on and we were left with a quote for a new one from both of them with no hope of repair.
