This place is okay, not what I expected based off the reviews. Please do your research about your own car before you take it to any mechanic. Brunswick Tire and Auto wanted to charge me approximately 150 dollars to 'find' an issue wrong with my car. Then, they told me to find another reliable mechanic, which I did who told me on the spot what was wrong with my car and what they were going to do to fix it. This reliable mechanic charged me for everything including transmission fluid oil $120 and was very prompt. On the other hand, this mechanic was going to charge me 150 dollars to find what was wrong with my car! Wow, i believe the reviews here do not add up. Located in the rough neighborhood of New Brunswick, clean waiting space and customer service is fair... well I'm being nice. The receptionist was unprofessional and said we did not charge you for the codes or test drive. I was completely confused- wait your company charges for that? To input a reader into the car to tell you the codes (where you can go practically anywhere and they will tell you for free) or test drive? What? She lost me. Rutgers students, I understand its in a convienent location, but please do not let mechanics rip you off... do a little research. To continue, the mechanic stated, "Cars are more complex than humans because they have more models, issues, etc." As an educated woman in STEM, this is where i had to draw the line. Asked for wheel balancing and alignment. After going to pepboys and Mavis who couldn't get it right, the mechanic here was able to get the job done and car is driving good now. My husband and I came here at the recommendation of a friend. We are so relieved to have found an honest mechanic we can trust. Jamie, the owner, is great. In our opinion, the prices are fair for honest work, we have never felt that he suggested a repair or checkup that wasn't warranted. He's also been good about warning us about upcoming repairs--he told us our struts would probably need replacing in the next 6 months and gave us a printout of the cost so we could save up in anticipation. We've also never felt pressure from him to do any repairs that weren't an emergency or weren't in the budget, he just gives us the info and lets us ask questions and doesn't pressure a decision. They are so friendly and nice here, and very trustworthy! I came here because it is neat where I live and a friend recommended them. My maintenance light was on and just needed to be reset. They checked the oil levels, reset the Maintenance button, and then checked the valve caps on my tired because they got corroded on, and they didn't even charge me. It was soooo nice and unexpected. Often times places will take advantage. They also always leave a bag of mints in my car which is so thoughtful and a nice finishing touch! Highly recommend! read more

install one of the pedal pad，the brake one on the left in picture. OEM pedal pads installing labor at dealership was $20/2installed . Here I got a super price of $62.3 /1 pedal installed. And the pictures showed what we got. The pedal was NOT installed, they just PUT it on. I'm not sure if you can see a gap between shinny pad and the metal body of brake pedal. Which should be Embedded. The rubber bolt on the behind was not properly used. Guess what happens when you need hitting brake hard? It can be a crimminal case. What is more, a crack was installed properly on door panel, and it's free!! The whole work continues from 8:30 to 12:50. It must be really hard to do so. That's my personal experience. BTW , I came here cause it's highest rating on google in this area. Last time I came for tyre rotation , it took $26 and performed great. cannot understand how the experience is so different from other guys, can you show some image for your 5 stars? What magic have you got on your cars? The owner Jaime was extremely courteous and patient and told me the family has been in auto repairing business for 40 years. OH. After getting a very costly estimate from a dealership, I was able to find Jamie and his team here to actually get the work done that was required for my car. He let me know that my battery was fine for quite a while longer and that the dealership wanted me to replace it unnecessarily. Then when I was preparing to move cross country they did a great job checking every possible system so that I could make the 3000 drive safely. I came here to mount 4 wheels onto tires. The older mechanic was pleasant and eager to get the job done. I waited in front for about 45 minutes before they were ready to take on my car. The older mechanic steps into my car, turns it on and begins to stall my car multiple times. (I drive a standard car with a ACT clutch). Instead of asking me to drive my car into the bay, he continued with failed attempts. The mechanic started to hold the clutch and gas in to get the car into the bay while he continued to stall. At this point I was trying to grab his attention to cease from driving my car but he kept at it and you can guess what happened next. My clutch started to smoke because this "certified mechanic" can't drive a standard vehicle. I'm already infuriated, I bang on my window and asked him what he was doing. His response was, "I'm not use to your clutch". In a nutshell, I didn't get the job done here. I let my clutch cool off. And I hope he reads this cause if I have any issues with my clutch, I'm coming after him seeking damages and a brand new clutch. Avoid if you have a lot of modifications done to your car. read more

I saw all the great reviews for this place and recently moved to the area so I thought I would give them a try. I hit a pothole and one of my tires was rippling so had to replace it. The receptionist gave me attitude about the warranty and I ended up having to return because they hadnt balanced my tires correctly (which then took another hour). After that my tires still werent balanced right so I ended up going to Midas and they fixed it. Ugg huge time waster and that area is also very congested even before rush hour due to public schools being right there and all the kids walking home or getting picked up. It took me 20 min just to get back to the highway (normally takes about 3 min). Then as I was leaving the mechanic told me that I needed a new bearing, which Midas told me wasnt true. They explained everything they did, told me which tire had lower pressure, and informed me why it happened (cold weather). First fixed my car a year ago when it was overheating, now they fixed an issue with the oil light for HALF of what Jiffy Lube quoted me (went there for an oil change and asked out this issue since I had a coupon, now I won't even go there for that!), both times the staff were extremely respectful, communicative, and explained everything that was wrong, what needed to be done immediately, what was recommended, etc. and they remembered me even though it had been a year since I had needed any work done (I don't drive much). I went to this place not to long ago, because when I went to pep boys to get air in my tire I was told that my front right tire was in really really bad shape. After a horrible experience at pep boys prior, I promised myself never to go to pep boys unless it was something small like a flat or needing air, other than that, never again...anywaysss so I get on google and all these tire places popped up, I called a good bit of them and either they didn't have any used tires, or they didn't have my tire size...so then I typed "New Brunswick used tires" (or something like that) and the first name that popped up was "Brunswick Tire and Auto" I never looked at a review or anything I just called praying that he had my tire and to my surprise he said yes!!!...I was so excited...so we set an appointment up for the next morning...When I finally made it there he was sooooooo nice, he not only said that the tire was bad, but he also SHOWED me...After the tire was put on I was so surprised at how cheap it was, and him putting on the tire was included in the price!...if I have anymore tire problems this is definitely the place I will be going...Two Thumbs Up!!! read more

Not only was I criticized for not taking proper care of my vehicle- which was an astounding claim to make, as had the mechanic checked the glove box, he would have seen that my vehicle has been serviced AT LEAST once each year- but I was given an OUTLANDISH estimate for an improper diagnosis. Went in for an oil change which they were able to do right away. They were very nice, made me coffee and had a good waiting room! They're a little hard to find, because is in the middle of a very residential block, but well worth it for a mechanic who seems honest and helpful. They also told me that for longer repairs, I could drop off my car in the morning and they could run me into Rutgers - a very nice extra. read more

Jay was extremely honest with what I needed to get fixed and when. From what I figured out from the invoice, the labor rate is about $60/hr which is fair because they work quite fast. A front brake pad and rotor full set placement cost me about the same as what the dealership charged me last time except the dealer only did a resurfacing. They will give you repair suggestions on a print out so you can take it home and research it yourself. All in all, they're honest and charge a fair price. read more
